This is an ask blog for my Agent Phoenix (also known as Agent Pyre)

In my headcanon they normally don't speak but when they do on here they will have red text

I may post occasional other IEYTD content on here too!

I will most likely accidentally post stuff on here that I meant to use my other account for. Sometimes I'll delete the post and make it again on the other account but I might just delete it or leave it if I'm tired.

I have a playlist for Pyre!

There are songs that fit them, songs that fit random headcanons, some AU songs (though I often make seperate playlists for them), songs that fit Phoenix's vibe and then sometimes a few really catchy songs sprinkled in because I really like the song and will eventually find some scenario where it's relevant to Pyre.

Broken ass quest 2 solidarity 🤝 (it's always this headset isn't it)

When you play first class do you have to pick if you wanna hear handler or Anna or can you like funnel all the audio to one side?

Also wdym the entire side just comes off??

Yess First Class is one of my absolute favorites so it's a common problem.

I recently found out I can use Bluetooth to connect the sound to my earbuds but in the time before I learned that,or if I didn't have the earbuds, I would mostly just not hear the handler. I don't think there's a way to have both Anna and Reginald in the right ear (the left is the broken one) so I would sometimes turn on the subtitles but mostly just not hear him.

In general it can make sound but usually it's like if the volume was at level 1 so I can't really make out what he says. I am able to hear in that side sometimes but only if the headset is at a very specific angle that I can't hold and that would also be uncomfortable.

And I'm not home rn so I can't get a photo (maybe I'll reblog when I'm back with the VR if I don't forget) but instead I made a crappy demonstration with the ibis paint on my phone

Surprisingly it doesn't fall off when wearing it but all the time when I pick up the headset the side just pops off and I need to click it back into place.

And then both controllers got dust in them so one side will only let me pull stuff towards me, meanwhile the other will push anything away from me the second I pick it up (even if I don't pick it up with TK). Stuff in my hand will just float away. We even took off the covers for the controls so we could get the dust out and it didn't work.

Anyway, sorry for rambling lol

YIKES, yknow thats about what i thought but still yikes how does that even stay on your head?

i meant like in the settings, and i just looked and if you go in the accessibility settings you can mess with the sound and force all the audio to one speaker. or maybe force most of it to the broken one and just crank the volume up if it can still make some sound?

as for the controllers, its probably something with the magnets inside it. best advice i can offer besides getting whole new sticks (my brother basically put quest 3 sticks in mine) is setting your deadzones, which i assume youve already done - -"

Yeah, the controllers are a pain. I don't actually know if the deadzone is set so I'll need to check but I think it might be sadly. I do think it is the magnets though.

Headcanon that agent Phoenix has weaker tk in their left hand purely because I have a quest 2 and for ages it had drift so terrible that telekinesis was extremely difficult with my left controller

Y'all know those videos where people wave their hand around a piece of tin foil and act like they're doing telekinesis? Imagine that but it's EOD agents just absolutely trolling the entire time

Like pretend tiktok could exist in ieytd and this trend starts going around and some EOD agent realizes they have the chance to do the funniest thing. Starts making videos fully pretending to believe in air thing but halfway through they like push the foil out of frame and go "ah wait" before floating an entirely new piece from a different point off screen into frame. They never acknowledge this.

Probably becomes kinda a game around the agency to see how ridiculous they can get with it. More and more EOD users pop up in the tin foil telekinesis space and conspiracy breaks out in the comment section, to which the reply is just a video of them saying "I just did what the people on this app told me to" while sipping a drink and then floating it in the air.

All of the handlers think this is the funniest thing ever

A quick recap for all who aren't myself and Agent Phoenix Critter Core/ those of you who have not been following our many reblogs: Numi is their Phoenix and Pyre is my Phoenix. Numi is at Prism-1's (also known as Rox) house with Reginald-1. Numi has eldritch powers which led to them accidentally starting a voice call with Pyre. This call has recently upgraded to a video call but the video is seen through a small glass sculpture Pyre has been carrying around. Numi can sort of project themselves on any reflective surface, or at least that's how it looks to Pyre. Numi can only do this in places where the sculpture goes though. As for Pyre, they recently found out that there were a bunch of coroner's reports for them (as in each report detailed a different end for Pyre that happened on a mission. There are hundreds of these reports). The reports all seem legit so Pyre went to check out the Lost Asset Retrievel Unit (which is mostly located at o e of the agency bases)for any clues on what the reports meant, they got caught and then escaped with Numi's help. The agency did get their bag sadly but it only had a few things including the Phantom's note (oops for them). All the coroner's reports were signed by Morales; also the piece of glass was taken from his office when they were caught. When Pyre did get taken, they were moved to Morales' office and told to wait (they were locked in the room). Pyre is currently on an earpiece call with Roxanna-2 (also know as Pris) who is going to leave once she helps Reginald-2 and Pyre get a safe spot to meet. Pris is leaving because she has been on the call for a while and is getting tired.

The part about the glass being used for the call I didn't explain well so here's a better explanation: Numi used their powers to connect the surface of a stopwatch in their world to the surface of a shiny object (the sculpture was what Pyre chose) in Pyre's world. Numi can project themself on any reflective surface near the object. This includes access to any cameras nearby which means they can also stop the cameras.

Prism-1 and Reginald-1 refer to the version from Numi's universe and Prism-2 and Reginald-2 are from Pyre's universe. You get the idea I'm sure.

Might be good to mention that my Phoenix uses red text, Numi uses orange instead, the handlers both use blue and the Prisms are purple.

If you do want to read the other parts, here's the link to the last chain which has links to the ones before it and so on. Reading then will definitely give you better context but it may take a while. We continue the story by each rebloging. I think this is the 5th or 6th chain (?)

Anyway I think I got all the important stuff but when you (I'm referring to Agent-Phoenix-Critter-Core) reblog it add anything I missed. Now, we shall resume the story:

"I'm like 90% sure that's meant to be some kind of a sculpture... Ooh or maybe it's an award or something?"

"Pyre" Prism addressed them.

"Yeeees?"

"Reggie said that a safe meeting place should be at that restaurant down near the end of the city. He's friends with a lot of the people there and they don't know about the agency so they wouldn't alert anyone."

"Oh, well that's perfect. I started in that direction so I should be there in a few minutes." Pyre felt their stomach rumble. It was almost dinner and they hadn't eaten anything for the entire day so they were starving once they realized the time.

(This whole thing has happened in one day which is crazy because we've been writing this for multiple weeks)

Pyre drove for a few minutes before finding the slightly run down restaurant. They never minded if a place was run down, though. Pyre has eaten moldy food plenty of times and most places were way better than the moldy sandwiches left in a Zoraxis escape pod.

(Small corrections to the recap: Numi purposefully messed around and found pyre by coincidence. Also it's a pocket mirror, not a pocket watch. /lh /nm /gen) Numi nodded along to Pyre's musings, legs kicking in the air as they sat on Pris' main living room couch.

Their shadowy reflection kept bouncing from one spot to the next inside the car, taking a good look around to pass the time. "Wow.. I don't know what I'm in right now but this is hard to see through. Everything looks so weird!" they say with an amused tone while looking through one of the belt buckles' metallic bits. On their end it's like the image is broken up into a blurry UV map of the piece (like 3D art texturing basically).

Then the restaurant came into view.

"OOoh! Restaurant!"

The thought of a restaurant reminded them of food, which reminded them of how hungry they are as well. They let out a small groan. "Ro-butleerrrr!" they half-wiled pleadingly. "Fooooood!" Numi might be a little spoiled, honestly.

"Coming!" shouted the robot from out of frame. Rushing in with the plate in hand plus a complementary juicebox (Rox has those because it's convenient sometimes.. Also this isn't the first time Numi came back here). "Here you go! Be careful, it's hot! If you need me again I'll be charging up over there. Goodbye~" And off it goes into the-- the thing! You know the thing.

Numi had a large smile on their face when they saw the food arriving. "Thanks! And have a good nap." They took the plate and set it down on their lap, then the unopened juice box which they deposited on the cushion next to them.

The child looked down at the steamy plate of food and started to drool. There were no more words, only the sound of a consuming VOID (/silly) devouring everything on that plate with the energy of a kitten that hasn't eaten in 5 minutes.

"Oooohhh what food did you get?" Pyre asked as they got out of their car.

They grabbed the glass and started walking to the restaurant, getting a few wierd glances on the way. Pyre walked into the bar/ diner and spotted Reginald at one of the tables in the back corner. The diner was average sized and had enough people in it that nobody would be able to hear your conversations from far but it wasn't so busy that you could call the place 'popular'.

Pyre moved to the table and sat down across from Reginald. He opened his mouth to talk but was interrupted by a server who (luckily for Pyre) was ready, Reginald seemed to have already ordered and water which Pyre had definitely not drank for a while.

"Hi, you can call me Elliot, I'll be your server today. Your friend here already ordered for the two of you so here is a roast beef sandwich with extra cheese for you~" Pyre was given a plate with a delicious looking sandwich, and Reginald had remember that they liked extra cheese yayyy. "And a hotdog, extra cooked for you." Reginald got himself a hotdog that was slightly burnt, of course. The server walked off to go attend to other tables and left Pyre and Reginald to talk.

Pyre dug in while Reginald started talking.

"Well then, Agent, would you like to go first? Because frankly I did not hear a lick of what Roxanna was saying except for that you had been kidnapped- or was it caught?" Reginald sighed heavily. "Agent, would you care to explain what happened between when I left you and that radio alone, until now- and why do you have that thing? Is it meant to be art or is it some kind of award?" Reginald said stirnly as he poked the sculpture.

They let out a small burp, licking their mouth then wiping it with their sleeve before responding; "Sandwich! And an apple juice." Said apple juice was picked up after setting the empty plate aside, in goes the straw! Siiip. slurp. ssllllrp. SSLLLLRRRP. Ahh. Good stuff!

They watched and listened as Pyre entered the establishment, going "Ooo, yum!" at the description of what Pyre was getting for dinner.

Then came Reginald's monologue.

Sensing an opportunity to be silly, they moved their figure to the most prominent facet of the shard that faced Reg-2 directly.

"Boo!" The scribbly white eyes squinted up in amusement whilst they greeted Reginald-2 with a friendly wave. Snickering.

"I am the evil genie of the trophy thing! Fear me!"

The shadow made a gesture that could be easily recognized as drinking out of a straw from something in their hand which can't be seen. Pyre can hear the slurping.

Pyre was the only one who could hear Numi until they suddenly said boo and found some kind of a way to make it that Reginald heard it too.

"Aaaaah" Reginald shrieked in a very high-pitched tone. He startled and nearly jumped out of his seat while Pyre broke out in laughter. "Goodness gracious, what in the world is that THING, Agent???"

Pyre took aa minute to calm their laughter before saying: "The- the person from the radio-" their sentence was interrupted with occasional laughter "The other Phoenix, it's them." Pyre paused "wait you have a juice box??? Luckyyyy."

Reginald sighed again. "Agent, how on earth did you two do that?"

"I didn't do anything. It's Numi who has the powers. They did something- I'm not sure what- and were able to connect something shiny over on their end to something shiny here. So we can see them and they can see every shiny surface here. But they're connected to the sculpture so can only see stuff in the same place as it."

"That's quite interesting but I still believe I'm missing some context on why you had problems with the agency?"

"Oohhhhhh that. I found a bunch of my own death certificate's and went to go investigate. Pris was being my handler buttttt let's just say she didn't account for the many cameras. I got caught, blah, blah, blah, skip to me being taken down to Morales' office. I stole this." They held up the glass Numi was in. "Then Numi helped me get out by stopping the cameras. That sums it up I think."

"And why didn't you let me know about any of this before breaking into an Agency building?"

"I was pretty sure I could trust you but I had to be safe." Pyre chuckled slightly awkwardly. "Remember what happened with Juniper? Didn't want another of those." It was true but that was not Pyre's reasoning in the moment. In hindsight they definitely should have told Reginald, the person who knew Agency buildings like the back of his hand.

"I guess the trust issues were never written on your resume. Hmm but what can I expect from an Agent like you?" Reginald mumbled. "Alright. Wait, Agent have you slept at all since this morning? You woke up at 3 am didn't you? That is not good for you you know-"

"Whatever, I'll sleep tonight." That was probably untrue. They had barely gotten any sleep this week.

"Anyway, here's Numi. We can't really see what they look like unless we're in person but-"

"Hold on, Agent. Did you say you were brought to Morales' office?"

"Yeah? Why?"

"Why did Morales want to see you?"

"Uhm, he signed all the coroner's reports so I assume that has something to do with it."

"What? He signed the reports?" Reginald's Spidey senses are tingling.

They set the juice box in the air (Remembering about the TK!) and the pocket mirror in front of them (with TK as well ofc). Reclining back on the couch to stretch noisily. GGGHN!

"Yep! Me! From the radio!" they chimed in after Pyre explained who they were. "And yeaaah! I'm the lucky juice winner." they smirked smirkingly.

They lean back and bring the mirrow closer, hovering it in the air. Listening to the rest of the exchange in silence up until Pyre introduced them towards the end. Waving enthusiastically only to stop when Reg-2 cut Pyre off and asked about the reports.

Ohh.. That's a Reggie look of 'something's up' if they haven't seen one!

"Suspicious, right?!" they threw their hands up in the air to emphasize.

"So, of course we had to get Pyre out of there before whatever was coming next!" They grabbed the juice box out of the air and hastily slurped down the rest of its contents until it crumpled up, then tossed it into the nearby trash bin/can and missing it.

They frown and use their TK to 'fix the problem'. That never happened.. /silly

All the meanwhile, they could see the shadow do all of those movements and emotes. It looks kind of adorable.

"You always get the best snacks!!!" Pyre craved juice.

Pyre's explanation of the report's left many questions in Reginald's head. "It is quite suspicious."

Pyre heard Numi talk about getting them out and has to add to it. "Ooohhhh yes, Numi was a great handler! "

"Alright, I have many more questions but my first one is... What are they doing?" Reginald seemed very confused.

Pyre looked over to Numi who was throwing their juice box with their TK. They laughed a bit.

"I just threw the empty juice box into the trash from afar in one shot!" they lie with no hesitation, only pure confidence.

Numi grabbed the pocket mirror and got up, grabbing the plate to set it down on a surface that's not a seat before walking about the place, exploring as they kept talking.

"This place is huge! This is a lot for just one person to live in. Wow."

"That sounds like quite the feat." Reginald wasn't sure if it was true that they got the juice in but he couldn't prove that they didn't. /Silly

Both Reginald and Pyre finished up their meals. Pyre felt much better than before now that they had eaten. They looked into the glass and could see Numi moving. The shapes around then weren't super clear but they could definitely see Numi moving.

"Oooh yeah! Prism does have a massive house."

The waiter returnd, "Is there anything else I can get you two?"

"I'll have the cheque, thank you."

The waiter left and then came by not long after, "Here's your cheque, sir." The cheque was handed to Reginald and the server left them to handle it. Reggie looked at the paper, took out his wallet and pulled out a few bills.

"Well then, Agent, we best get moving too. I don't believe that the Agency knows I'm helping you for sure so they wouldn't be tracking my car but they would definitely be waiting for yours. I suggest leaving it here and coming in mine. Prism or I could pick it up later but right now we've got to find a safe place for you while we sort this out."

"Fineeeeeee, I guess." They did not feel like having to hide out somewhere while people do the talking for them but it's better than whatever Morales probably had planned.

Pyre grabbed the sculpture and he two walked out and down the road to Reginald's car. Pyre got in the passenger's seat and held the sculpture.

"So how's it going over there, Numi?"

"IiIIi FfOUUuNnDd AaAAH cOooOlL CHAaIIiIIR!" replied Numi vibratingly, sitting on some sort of hyper souped up chair which Roxana DEFINITELY has somewhere in her house.

They truly are having the greatest time, a funny contrast to Pyre's current predicament. The silhouette's outline is cartoonishly ripple-y and fuzzy as a result. At least they have Numi for comic relief.. /silly

The silly goober returned to their scouting duties once the duo exited the establishment, looking out for any suspicious individuals in their (Pyre's) surroundings.

"BaAaACk TooO HaNddLIIiIiing!" Thank you, Numi. Your help is appreciated Numi. /pos

"Oooh yayy cool chair!!!" Pyre said about Numi's chair. They strapped in with their seatbelt and Reginald was off and driving. "Soooooooo where are we headed?"

"Well, I don't have many safe places to hide you that aren't run by the Agency but you had the right idea earlier about where would be a good place."

"How so?"

"Roxana's house. She has security cameras all over aswell as an entrance that takes a while to open if you don't know how. She also happens to have a very nice basement!"

"WHATTTTT??? Why do I have to go stay in a basement."

"You know exactly why, Agent. And having someone keeping an eye on you is especially good in situations like this," Reginald talked as he drove.

"C'mon, you don't trust me on my own?"

"Not particularly."

"Mean."

Reginald turned on the car radio and tuned it to the Agency frequency (a frequency only accessible to those with the special Agency radio installed.) A man came through the speaker, broadcasting to the Agency: "Attention, Agents and handlers alike, we need your help! One of our top Agents, Agent Phoenix, has been unreachable for the past few days. If you happen to know where they are or see them please bring the Phoenix to your nearest headquarters. There is Zoraxis ties suspected here, folks, so please make sure they actually arrive at the base. We are not saying that they have joined Zoraxis but please do keep an eye out. They are most recognizable for bright red hair, though, I'm sure most of you know who the Phoenix is. As always keep your ear to the ground, an eye to the spy, your nose in a book and your moth shut."

The two looked at eachother.

"That's not good."

They listened in on the conversation in silence through most of it and adding in a little "Oh yeah! Pris house buddies!" and a "Hehe- My Reggie also doesn't trust me to be completely on my own sometimes".

Then came the radio broadcast which they heard. Their silly smile turning into a concerned frown. "Uh-oh.."

"That's not good," they said in unison with Pyre.

"So they're LYING now! That's SUPER suspicious! You weren't gone for days! Now you definitely can't go back, that sucks.."

Reminder that they are still on the chair with the massage setting on and their voice is shaking the whole time.

"But don't worry, I'll help you out!" thumbs up!!!

"Prism house buddies!!!!" Pyre said before side eying Reginald for not trusting them alone.

"Agent, I'm not sure exactly what's going on but for your own sake I suggest ducking down below where anyone can see you."

Pyre unbuckled their seatbelt (unsafe!) and ducked below the glove compartment. They brought the sculpture with them and continued to look through it at Numi. They chuckled slightly at the chair sounds before agreeing with what Numi was saying.

"They're completely lying!!! And it is super suspicious!!! And yeah! I haven't been gone for days, it's barely been a few hours."

"Well, Agent, the other Phoenix-"

"Numi." Pyre corrected.

"Yes, Numi, is right. There's no way you can go back now."

Pyre sighed dramatically, "Fineeeeee but I know for sure that there's still something being hidden from me. And I want to know what it is."

"We will find out but right now the most important thing is that you don't get caught, again."

The two continued on their way to Prism's place, it wasn't too far so they should be there pretty soon.

"How long until you guys get there?" Head tilt. They got tired of the chair and set it to back massage mode, which made them figuratively melt into the seat. "Ohooh…. I want this in my office."

Their shadow momentarily left the reflection as the pocket mirror was no longer pointed at Numi.

"Were only a few minutes away so we'll be there momentarily." Reginald replied.

"Good, sitting here is kind of uncomfortable." You might expect sitting under a glovebox to not be the most accomodating but the reason Pyre was uncomfortable was because they were sitting in the weirdest possible pose. They were positioned in a wierd mix of the shrimp pose and a velociraptor. At least they still could see Numi who looked very comfortable and relaxed. Nevermind- Numi was now out of frame.

"I think I need a message chair too. Being a handler is hard work."

Soon enough Reginald pulled in to Pris' very long driveway. Reginald parked behind a large rock and stepped out. He went over to Pyre's side to open the door for them since they seemed a bit stuck. The second the door opened Pyre tumbled out onto the ground.

"Ouchhhh." The agent groaned in pavement pain.

"You really should…" they said relaxingly, which then changed to worry when they heard the tumbling and ouchies, immediately looking back into the small mirror.

The Numi shadow is now back on the glass thing looking at Pyro with worry. "You good? Also, need me to check the perimetter?" (That was not a typo, that's how they pronounce it /silly they're still learning)

Pyre, who fell holding the sculpture, was now laying on the ground still with the glass in hand (it's luckily not sharp enough to actually hurt them). Pyre places the piece down, dusted themself off and stood up. They bent backwards to crack their back before picking the sculpture back up and responding. "Yeah, I'm good. Only got a few scrapes and you'd know as a fellow Phoenix that I've been through much worse." The agent stretched a bit more before starting to walk up to the secret elevator that Numi had described earlier.

"Checking the perimeter may be a good idea. I don't expect Pris' place to be the first spit the Agency looks but it's best to be safe."

"Right you are, Agent."

Reginald, who knew the way, immediately walked over to the correct area and pressed some kind of buzzer to open the elevator door. Either that or he pressed the buzzer and Pris opened the door. Pyre couldn't tell which.

The two got in he elevator and ascended up. When they got to the top Pyre knew how to get in so they made a beeline for the sign. The garage opened and both walked in.

"Since when have you known how to get into Roxana's house?"

"Since today."

Reginald gave them an odd look, wondering how they found out, before just accepting it.

They let out a small amused snort. "Yeah, that's nothing compared to what happens at work!"

Their shadow remained on the shard for a moment, giving Pyre a silly serious sort of expression and a salute.

Numi sweeps the area quickly then comes back roughly a minute later.

"Area's clear!" they exclaimed with another enthusiastically exaggerated salute.

Pyre saluted back to Numi in the shard. The two definitely understood eachother better than anyone.

"Good, nobody suspects I'm here yet."

The Agent and their handler walked through Pris' house and not long after coming through the entry Pris popped over from her lab.

"Ah, Reginald, Pyre, any new on the Agency situation?"

Pyre sighed, "It just got worse."

"What happened?" Pris was intrigued.

"Let me tell you, it has been a long day. They'll tell you all about it after but first and foremost we need to get them hidden. You're basement is quite the nice place I've told them." Reginald's got to make sure everyone is safe before getting to talking. Handler mode has been on all day.

"Sure, follow me." Pris led the way.

Pyre talked to Numi, "Ughhhhh this is going to be soooo boring. At least I have you."

"Be polite, Agent."

"Oh, I meant no offence to you, Pris."

Pris laughed, "None taken. But I do still want to run some tests on you're earpiece and that glass. I mean the abilities Numi has are mindblowing..." Pris continued talking about how she wants to explain Numi's eldritch powers with her science stuff (but I'm sure science can't really explain that) and how mindblown she was for a while as the group went to her basement.

The Agent had to cut her off though, "WAIT, DO YOU HAVE A MASSAGE CHAIR???"

They began to test out other buttons while they (the others) made their way inside their own universe's Pris Cave. "Massage chair's upstairs….. OH SHIT IT CAN WARM!" It can indeed warm. Amazing.

"What DOESN'T this thing have?" Audible button click. Machinery noises.sfx. "THERE'S A TOASTER MODE???" Ding! Chhk! "OMG TOASTS--" They were munching so audibly, the toasts sound nice and crispy! Only part of them was visible on the reflection as they leaned 'out of frame' for the snack, eventually returning into full view with some distinct crumbs on their face. "I'm never moving from this spot.." Numi leans back into full comfort mode. "This is where I live now." they added chillingly.

"IT CAN WARM???? PRIS PLEASE TELL ME YOU HAVE A MASSAGE CHAIR DOWNSTAIRS TOO?"

"It's a state of the art seating system I created, not a massage chair, but I do have one downstairs."

"Sure, not a massage chair, whatever you say." It's definitely a massage chair.

"WAIT THERES TOASTERS???" Pyre absolutely sprinted downstairs, found the chair in her large basement and hopped in it. "Thiiiis iiiSsS sOoOoOO niCeEe."

"If it does massage, it's a massage chair." They pulled a pair of sunglasses out from one of their coat's large pockets (THE STASH!!) and put them on.

"I wonder when Reggie'll be back.. He's been gone a while" they mused to themselves. "Probably traffic or something. It's like, what…" They look at a wrist watch which they kept in their pocket for some reason? Squinting at it. "…I can't read that. *Anyway*~"

They put it back then hover the pocket mirror closer, checking out the entire building just for the sake of it. "OH!! Pyre! There's an icecream machine at your pris' place!"

Pyre held the glass and tried showing Numi their new massage chair, "YeEeEp deFIniTeLyYy aA mAsSAgE cHaiiR." Pyre messed around with the settings and found a nice relaxing one that didn't make their voice sound like it was glitching.

"Where did your Reggie go again?" Pyre had forgotten what Numi had said earlier. "Here it's around..." Pyre checked a clock in the basement. It was a robotic looking clock as one might expect from Pris. "Uhhh, it's 6:35. But we're probably in different timezones."

Pyre could overhear Reginald explaining what happened to Pris but didn't pay much attention to it. There are much more important things, such as icecream! "THERE'S AN ICECREAM MACHINE." Pyre jumped out of the chair and ran across the room to the machine, tossing their shard on the chair in the process.

Pyre could be seen across the room using their TK and their hands to get 3 cups of soft serve (they got all the kinds Pris had which were vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.) The Agent was holding the cups in their hands while also using their fingers to aim the TK. They then realized that hovering the cups was much more efficient and opted to doing that and just pulling the icecream levers. Pyre returned to the chair with 3 massive cups of icecream. The bowls all had cones on top aswell (optimized to hold the most amount of icecream).

Pyre absolutely devoured each cup and got up to head back for more. "Numi, you need to try this!!!"

"Agent, you may want to slow down. I'm not sure it's a good idea to eat that much icecream at once-"

"Pyre you're going to be sick if-"

Reginald and Pris were both interrupted by the sounds of the icecream machine. Then Reg and Pris continued to be interrupted by the Agent eating every bite. "NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW!" Now 6 cups in, Pyre went back for more.

"Dunno.." they shrugged shruggingly. "Said something about making up excuses for the two of us heading away from HQ, or something."

Numi leaves the chair to explore Rox's house on their end and eventually finds a numeric clock. YES!

"Oh! Says 1:35 PM on this."

This clock looks similar to the one they saw at Pris'…

THE ICECREAM MACHINE MUST BE NEAR!

"I'm going to!"

They are now running, the sound of their boots clicking against the floor until they eventually found their goal.

"YESSS!! ICECREAM FOR MEEEEeee!!hehehe!!" Gremlin mode: ON. They too are now consuming the iced creams. Very audibly mind you.

The sounds are… horrifying.

Pyre was now speaking through mouthfuls of icecream as they tried shoving more and more in their mouth, "This is so..." Munch munch munch, "gooooood."

Pyre was not onto their 15th bowl of icecream and already going for another. Reg and Pris both look EXTREMELY concerned at, both, what Pyre is doing and the eldritch sounds coming through that piece of glass.

Pyre went back for their 18th cup (they eat 3 at a time). They munched that down fast and were onto the 21st. Pyre started on the strawberry one but halfway through dropped the cup and absolutely sprinted away.

"Uh oh. I think they might be sick."

Reginald called to whatever bathroom Pyre was throwing up in, "I hate to say I told you so, Agent, but- wait! I absolutely love to say I told you so. Phoenix, this is exactly what I told you so." Reginald accidentally called them Phoenix, it's a habit.

While Pyre was succumbing to the limitations of a normal human body, Numi was practically leaning with their face underneath the icecream dispenser and eating it as it dropped down into a continuous flow of pure sinful gluttony. A small object held in place on the button/lever with TK.

Do they have a limit? Maybe, but they clearly haven't reached it yet.

They stopped abruptly. "OW!! OW WOOW O WOWOW-- OWWW" They immediately removed themselves out of the way of the machine as it kept dispensing the dairy treat uninterrupted. Holding their head and keeling over in pain, which is when their TK stopped and dropped both the object holding the lever in place and the pocket mirror.

They may have an infinite stomach, but they're not immune to brain freeze. The child keels over and lies down on the floor in shrimp position.

They pass out somehow. There's a small mess around them which tells the tale of their demise.. /silly

Reginald walked over to the massage chair and picked up the shard which he had been watching. "Looks like both Phoenix's are out of commission."

"Yeah. Speaking of which, I'll go check on Pyre."

Pris was momentarily gone but returned a few minutes later, "They threw up a lot and then fell asleep on my bathroom floor. I don't think they've slept for the past few days because I could not wake them. They do have a pulse though so Pyre is alive."

"Hmmm Hopefully their version of you or me finds Numi soon. I'm sure their fine but to make sure they haven't done any damage."

"Yes. Also I got Robutler to take Pyre to a bed. It's probably not best to keep them upstairs because of the whole Agency thing but we'd need to make a room down here soooo I figured while Robutler sets something up that they can sleep up there."

Robutler zoomed by with bedding supplies and a curtain for privacy a moment later.

Sure enough, Robutler 2 strolled by and found Numi on the floor. They're lowkey freaking out and trying to think of how to handle this very specific situation.

The child awakes from their icecream headache-induced coma with a long groan, lifting their face off the floor with enough difficulty that it felt as though it was sticky (It probably is a little.. because of the icecream).

"I'm.. good, I'm good." They push themselves off the floor and sit down with a slight unsteadiness.

"Not doing THAT again." they say groaningly, rubbing the bridge of their nose with closed eyes.

Robutler is very relieved! They instead get to cleaning up the mess.

"That didn't look too good. Are you alright, Numi?" Pris asked.

Robutler finished the little corner in the basement for Pyre. It had a mattress, a desk, a small dresser and a curtain for privacy. "I finished the room! I'll go get Pyre now." Robutler announced.

"Sounds good."

"Hmmm. You Phoenix's sure are resilient." He didn't realize that part of that was also that Numi is some kind of an eldritch being but they are both resilient too.

Robutler zoomed by with an unconscious Pyre over his shoulder. Despite the insomnia, once Pyre was asleep they were nearly impossible to wake. Robutler gingerly placed Pyre down on the mattress and shut the room with the privacy curtain.

"They're alright I assume?" Reginald asked Robutler.

"Yes, Pyre has a steady pulse. They seem to have not slept sooooo that's probably why they got knocked out by icecream."

"That makes a lot of sense." Pris laughed.

"Yeah- yeah! I'm good!" They got off the floor and looked at the stains on their clothes, frowning. "Aw, man… Hey, Robutler. Can you wash this for me- please?"

"Of course! But it will take roughly an hour to wash and dry."

"I don't mind. Just don't wash it with the stuff in the pockets, there's also some hidden pockets.." They swiftly unbuckled the belt of their coat and removed it in one swift movement, like they've practiced numerous times to look cool in front of others. Robutler let out a small sound of awe and took notes.

Handing the coat to Robutler, they quickly showed em where said pockets were before it took it and left.

The child™ chuckled anime-ly with a hand to their chin in confidence. "Yeah, we're like roaches! Nothing can take us out!" sparkle sparkle?? /silly

They then got themselves something to wipe off the dried up icecream from their face, gotta keep clean.. Reginald drilled the concept of hygiene into them the moment he found out Numi didn't even know what a bathtub was.

With the pocket mirror frozen in the air, it kinda looked like the shadow was getting smaller then bigger then- well you know what happens with reflections that move. Looks a bit funky since they're the only thing in view.

"So, Pyre's gonna be out for a while? Guess I'll just talk to you guys now."

"Good, good."

Pris looked at the glass Reginald was holding and could see Numi striking a pose? We're those sparkles? She laughed.

"Yes you Phoenix's indeed are like roaches," Reginald chuckled, too. "Maybe in more ways than one," he joked.

"Yeah, I'm not sure how long Pyre usually sleeps but-"

"If they're sleeping they will be sleeping for a while most likely."

"Exactly. But you have us!"

They scoff with amusement. "I'll crawl into your cabinets, come out to eat from your pantry and skitter off when the light turns on!" They actually did that before btw just fyi.

Numi walked towards a nearby window to look outside, one hand absentmindedly TK-grabbing the pocket mirror and dragging it along at an angle behind them. Now leaning against the ledge of the windowsill and admiring the views of the desert below.

"Yeah! Honestly, I'd like to try more cool stuff but Reggie might ground me if I do.. Already did the thing with the mirror too, he won't be happy about it." They pouted, elbow on the windowsil with their head resting tilted in their hand.

"I'll also have to explain what happened after he left.. hhhhhhnn…" They clearly don't like the intel exchange part of spywork. This lil fella prefers action!

"Well, whatever." They push themselves off and away from the window and head down towards Rox's lab with the pocket mirror now in hand.

"You guys should probably keep an eye on the Agency just in case they do find a trail. Maybe even work on something to let the rest of them know that the higher-ups are being shady as shi- heck." "-Oh! Start collecting tons of proof!" Smart kid!

"Hmm, you two sure are birds of a feather."

Ah yes, the explanation part of missions. Luckily Pyre doesn't currently have to do that

"We could probably help a bit with explaining to your handler. He might want to hear stuff from you specifically, though," Pris will try her best.

Reginald listened to the kid's suggestions. They were actually quite good. Reginald didn't know many children so he didn't have much of a basis but this kid seemed very smart.

"That's a good idea. Rox, you get the radio on incase of any Agency broadcasts and I'll-" His headset started ringing. Reginald held a finger up to tell everyone to be quiet for a second and stepped up the stairs.

"This is Crane speaking. What do you need?"

Muffled noises could be vaguely heard but since it was only coming through the headset and farther away Pris couldn't make out anything.

"No, I haven't been listening to the Agent broadcasts. Why?"

More muffled noises.

"You believe their with Zoraxis? I don't think so-"

He was cut off by the voice.

"Ah, I see. So, they are suspected to have contacted Zoraxis but nothing is actually known? Alright, well, I haven't seen them for a few days."

"Yes, I'll let you know if I see them. Yes, thank you."

And the call hung up.

"Yeah….." they trailed off, pressing a series of buttons (Call it instinct™ /silly (cheaterrr)) and waiting for the mechanisms to open up the door to the lab.

"Huh?" Their entire attention was now focused on Reg-2's side of the conversation, frowning deeply at the expected but still upsetting information they could gather from it.

"Darn…. Let's hope they don't actually suspect you, since you're like.. the handler."

Realization struck.

"You don't have anything they can track you with on you, do ya?" A beeping sound resonated and a door opened, they walked right in.

Reginald returned, "Yes, let's hope. I do think that at he current moment they still believe I'm not a part of this but the longer things go on the more suspicion will turn to me."

"Does your headset have a tracker in it?"

"No, and I don't believe I brought anything trackable. My car isn't an Agency one so it won't have any trackers like Pyre's might."

"Oh and what about when you went in to try and get them out of the Agency headquarters? Do you have any reason for you being their that you could give?"

"I don't think they payed much attention to me but since Pyre "has been gone for a few days" and I allegedly haven't seen them, then I could say I was going straight to Ricardo and his main office to ask since he'd have the best information."

"I hope Pyre didn't bring anything they could be tracked with."

"Hmm, they are quite cautious. They don't normally bring many things they can be tracked with at a moment's notice. I'll double check when they wake."

"And how are you doing over there, Numi?" Pris was still concerned about the icecream, aswell. That kid was a menace to all food.

"All's good!- Hey, Rox! You got anything from your analysis stuff so far?" They shouted just loud enough for their voice to reach the nerd woman (/aff /lh) who turned from some monitor to look at them.

"Yes, and no… Maybe? I think I might have something, but I'm not quite sure what it is yet." She returns to the puter-ing, typing at over 100 WPM (words per minute).

Numi hopped over and stopped by her, trying to tippy toe up to get a better look at the monitor. They don't understand what any of that stuff is, or do they? That's a mystery.

"Huhh… What's that mean, exactly? Wait- no, nevermind." Scratching the back of their head, the child's gaze drifted off to something more stimulating which just so happened to be some bullshit on the table nearby, and so they walk over to it.

Rox blinks, this child… She sighed and rolled her eyes lightly. "Don't touch anything."

"I won't!" They were totally midway into poking something and immediately retracted their hand, giving Rox a oh so innocent smile.

"Anyway…" Exploration time! Let's just ignore the scary machine that makes you feel like you're being assaulted at a molecular level~

Reginald-1 arrived but a minute later. He doesn't know the icecream horrors that had transpired in his absence… nor does he need to know /silly

"Hmmm I wonder..." Roxanna trailed off, deep in thought about the different universes. It would be hard to snap her out of it. She moved to pacing the room as she thought. She seemed to pull something out of the tool belt she had on and start to tinkering with it.

Reginald watched Numi explore. He stopped for a second, going over to the curtain Pyre was behind and checking they were still breathing (they were). They probably needed rest so he left them be. Reggie-2 returned back to the glass shard. He was back to watching Numi explore.

A quick recap for all who aren't myself and Agent Phoenix Critter Core/ those of you who have not been following our many reblogs: Numi is their Phoenix and Pyre is my Phoenix. Numi is at Prism-1's (also known as Rox) house with Reginald-1. Numi has eldritch powers which led to them accidentally starting a voice call with Pyre. This call has recently upgraded to a video call but the video is seen through a small glass sculpture Pyre has been carrying around. Numi can sort of project themselves on any reflective surface, or at least that's how it looks to Pyre. Numi can only do this in places where the sculpture goes though. As for Pyre, they recently found out that there were a bunch of coroner's reports for them (as in each report detailed a different end for Pyre that happened on a mission. There are hundreds of these reports). The reports all seem legit so Pyre went to check out the Lost Asset Retrievel Unit (which is mostly located at o e of the agency bases)for any clues on what the reports meant, they got caught and then escaped with Numi's help. The agency did get their bag sadly but it only had a few things including the Phantom's note (oops for them). All the coroner's reports were signed by Morales; also the piece of glass was taken from his office when they were caught. When Pyre did get taken, they were moved to Morales' office and told to wait (they were locked in the room). Pyre is currently on an earpiece call with Roxanna-2 (also know as Pris) who is going to leave once she helps Reginald-2 and Pyre get a safe spot to meet. Pris is leaving because she has been on the call for a while and is getting tired.

The part about the glass being used for the call I didn't explain well so here's a better explanation: Numi used their powers to connect the surface of a stopwatch in their world to the surface of a shiny object (the sculpture was what Pyre chose) in Pyre's world. Numi can project themself on any reflective surface near the object. This includes access to any cameras nearby which means they can also stop the cameras.

Prism-1 and Reginald-1 refer to the version from Numi's universe and Prism-2 and Reginald-2 are from Pyre's universe. You get the idea I'm sure.

Might be good to mention that my Phoenix uses red text, Numi uses orange instead, the handlers both use blue and the Prisms are purple.

If you do want to read the other parts, here's the link to the last chain which has links to the ones before it and so on. Reading then will definitely give you better context but it may take a while. We continue the story by each rebloging. I think this is the 5th or 6th chain (?)

Anyway I think I got all the important stuff but when you (I'm referring to Agent-Phoenix-Critter-Core) reblog it add anything I missed. Now, we shall resume the story:

"I'm like 90% sure that's meant to be some kind of a sculpture... Ooh or maybe it's an award or something?"

"Pyre" Prism addressed them.

"Yeeees?"

"Reggie said that a safe meeting place should be at that restaurant down near the end of the city. He's friends with a lot of the people there and they don't know about the agency so they wouldn't alert anyone."

"Oh, well that's perfect. I started in that direction so I should be there in a few minutes." Pyre felt their stomach rumble. It was almost dinner and they hadn't eaten anything for the entire day so they were starving once they realized the time.

(This whole thing has happened in one day which is crazy because we've been writing this for multiple weeks)

Pyre drove for a few minutes before finding the slightly run down restaurant. They never minded if a place was run down, though. Pyre has eaten moldy food plenty of times and most places were way better than the moldy sandwiches left in a Zoraxis escape pod.

(Small corrections to the recap: Numi purposefully messed around and found pyre by coincidence. Also it's a pocket mirror, not a pocket watch. /lh /nm /gen) Numi nodded along to Pyre's musings, legs kicking in the air as they sat on Pris' main living room couch.

Their shadowy reflection kept bouncing from one spot to the next inside the car, taking a good look around to pass the time. "Wow.. I don't know what I'm in right now but this is hard to see through. Everything looks so weird!" they say with an amused tone while looking through one of the belt buckles' metallic bits. On their end it's like the image is broken up into a blurry UV map of the piece (like 3D art texturing basically).

Then the restaurant came into view.

"OOoh! Restaurant!"

The thought of a restaurant reminded them of food, which reminded them of how hungry they are as well. They let out a small groan. "Ro-butleerrrr!" they half-wiled pleadingly. "Fooooood!" Numi might be a little spoiled, honestly.

"Coming!" shouted the robot from out of frame. Rushing in with the plate in hand plus a complementary juicebox (Rox has those because it's convenient sometimes.. Also this isn't the first time Numi came back here). "Here you go! Be careful, it's hot! If you need me again I'll be charging up over there. Goodbye~" And off it goes into the-- the thing! You know the thing.

Numi had a large smile on their face when they saw the food arriving. "Thanks! And have a good nap." They took the plate and set it down on their lap, then the unopened juice box which they deposited on the cushion next to them.

The child looked down at the steamy plate of food and started to drool. There were no more words, only the sound of a consuming VOID (/silly) devouring everything on that plate with the energy of a kitten that hasn't eaten in 5 minutes.

"Oooohhh what food did you get?" Pyre asked as they got out of their car.

They grabbed the glass and started walking to the restaurant, getting a few wierd glances on the way. Pyre walked into the bar/ diner and spotted Reginald at one of the tables in the back corner. The diner was average sized and had enough people in it that nobody would be able to hear your conversations from far but it wasn't so busy that you could call the place 'popular'.

Pyre moved to the table and sat down across from Reginald. He opened his mouth to talk but was interrupted by a server who (luckily for Pyre) was ready, Reginald seemed to have already ordered and water which Pyre had definitely not drank for a while.

"Hi, you can call me Elliot, I'll be your server today. Your friend here already ordered for the two of you so here is a roast beef sandwich with extra cheese for you~" Pyre was given a plate with a delicious looking sandwich, and Reginald had remember that they liked extra cheese yayyy. "And a hotdog, extra cooked for you." Reginald got himself a hotdog that was slightly burnt, of course. The server walked off to go attend to other tables and left Pyre and Reginald to talk.

Pyre dug in while Reginald started talking.

"Well then, Agent, would you like to go first? Because frankly I did not hear a lick of what Roxanna was saying except for that you had been kidnapped- or was it caught?" Reginald sighed heavily. "Agent, would you care to explain what happened between when I left you and that radio alone, until now- and why do you have that thing? Is it meant to be art or is it some kind of award?" Reginald said stirnly as he poked the sculpture.

They let out a small burp, licking their mouth then wiping it with their sleeve before responding; "Sandwich! And an apple juice." Said apple juice was picked up after setting the empty plate aside, in goes the straw! Siiip. slurp. ssllllrp. SSLLLLRRRP. Ahh. Good stuff!

They watched and listened as Pyre entered the establishment, going "Ooo, yum!" at the description of what Pyre was getting for dinner.

Then came Reginald's monologue.

Sensing an opportunity to be silly, they moved their figure to the most prominent facet of the shard that faced Reg-2 directly.

"Boo!" The scribbly white eyes squinted up in amusement whilst they greeted Reginald-2 with a friendly wave. Snickering.

"I am the evil genie of the trophy thing! Fear me!"

The shadow made a gesture that could be easily recognized as drinking out of a straw from something in their hand which can't be seen. Pyre can hear the slurping.

Pyre was the only one who could hear Numi until they suddenly said boo and found some kind of a way to make it that Reginald heard it too.

"Aaaaah" Reginald shrieked in a very high-pitched tone. He startled and nearly jumped out of his seat while Pyre broke out in laughter. "Goodness gracious, what in the world is that THING, Agent???"

Pyre took aa minute to calm their laughter before saying: "The- the person from the radio-" their sentence was interrupted with occasional laughter "The other Phoenix, it's them." Pyre paused "wait you have a juice box??? Luckyyyy."

Reginald sighed again. "Agent, how on earth did you two do that?"

"I didn't do anything. It's Numi who has the powers. They did something- I'm not sure what- and were able to connect something shiny over on their end to something shiny here. So we can see them and they can see every shiny surface here. But they're connected to the sculpture so can only see stuff in the same place as it."

"That's quite interesting but I still believe I'm missing some context on why you had problems with the agency?"

"Oohhhhhh that. I found a bunch of my own death certificate's and went to go investigate. Pris was being my handler buttttt let's just say she didn't account for the many cameras. I got caught, blah, blah, blah, skip to me being taken down to Morales' office. I stole this." They held up the glass Numi was in. "Then Numi helped me get out by stopping the cameras. That sums it up I think."

"And why didn't you let me know about any of this before breaking into an Agency building?"

"I was pretty sure I could trust you but I had to be safe." Pyre chuckled slightly awkwardly. "Remember what happened with Juniper? Didn't want another of those." It was true but that was not Pyre's reasoning in the moment. In hindsight they definitely should have told Reginald, the person who knew Agency buildings like the back of his hand.

"I guess the trust issues were never written on your resume. Hmm but what can I expect from an Agent like you?" Reginald mumbled. "Alright. Wait, Agent have you slept at all since this morning? You woke up at 3 am didn't you? That is not good for you you know-"

"Whatever, I'll sleep tonight." That was probably untrue. They had barely gotten any sleep this week.

"Anyway, here's Numi. We can't really see what they look like unless we're in person but-"

"Hold on, Agent. Did you say you were brought to Morales' office?"

"Yeah? Why?"

"Why did Morales want to see you?"

"Uhm, he signed all the coroner's reports so I assume that has something to do with it."

"What? He signed the reports?" Reginald's Spidey senses are tingling.

They set the juice box in the air (Remembering about the TK!) and the pocket mirror in front of them (with TK as well ofc). Reclining back on the couch to stretch noisily. GGGHN!

"Yep! Me! From the radio!" they chimed in after Pyre explained who they were. "And yeaaah! I'm the lucky juice winner." they smirked smirkingly.

They lean back and bring the mirrow closer, hovering it in the air. Listening to the rest of the exchange in silence up until Pyre introduced them towards the end. Waving enthusiastically only to stop when Reg-2 cut Pyre off and asked about the reports.

Ohh.. That's a Reggie look of 'something's up' if they haven't seen one!

"Suspicious, right?!" they threw their hands up in the air to emphasize.

"So, of course we had to get Pyre out of there before whatever was coming next!" They grabbed the juice box out of the air and hastily slurped down the rest of its contents until it crumpled up, then tossed it into the nearby trash bin/can and missing it.

They frown and use their TK to 'fix the problem'. That never happened.. /silly

All the meanwhile, they could see the shadow do all of those movements and emotes. It looks kind of adorable.

"You always get the best snacks!!!" Pyre craved juice.

Pyre's explanation of the report's left many questions in Reginald's head. "It is quite suspicious."

Pyre heard Numi talk about getting them out and has to add to it. "Ooohhhh yes, Numi was a great handler! "

"Alright, I have many more questions but my first one is... What are they doing?" Reginald seemed very confused.

Pyre looked over to Numi who was throwing their juice box with their TK. They laughed a bit.

"I just threw the empty juice box into the trash from afar in one shot!" they lie with no hesitation, only pure confidence.

Numi grabbed the pocket mirror and got up, grabbing the plate to set it down on a surface that's not a seat before walking about the place, exploring as they kept talking.

"This place is huge! This is a lot for just one person to live in. Wow."

"That sounds like quite the feat." Reginald wasn't sure if it was true that they got the juice in but he couldn't prove that they didn't. /Silly

Both Reginald and Pyre finished up their meals. Pyre felt much better than before now that they had eaten. They looked into the glass and could see Numi moving. The shapes around then weren't super clear but they could definitely see Numi moving.

"Oooh yeah! Prism does have a massive house."

The waiter returnd, "Is there anything else I can get you two?"

"I'll have the cheque, thank you."

The waiter left and then came by not long after, "Here's your cheque, sir." The cheque was handed to Reginald and the server left them to handle it. Reggie looked at the paper, took out his wallet and pulled out a few bills.

"Well then, Agent, we best get moving too. I don't believe that the Agency knows I'm helping you for sure so they wouldn't be tracking my car but they would definitely be waiting for yours. I suggest leaving it here and coming in mine. Prism or I could pick it up later but right now we've got to find a safe place for you while we sort this out."

"Fineeeeeee, I guess." They did not feel like having to hide out somewhere while people do the talking for them but it's better than whatever Morales probably had planned.

Pyre grabbed the sculpture and he two walked out and down the road to Reginald's car. Pyre got in the passenger's seat and held the sculpture.

"So how's it going over there, Numi?"

"IiIIi FfOUUuNnDd AaAAH cOooOlL CHAaIIiIIR!" replied Numi vibratingly, sitting on some sort of hyper souped up chair which Roxana DEFINITELY has somewhere in her house.

They truly are having the greatest time, a funny contrast to Pyre's current predicament. The silhouette's outline is cartoonishly ripple-y and fuzzy as a result. At least they have Numi for comic relief.. /silly

The silly goober returned to their scouting duties once the duo exited the establishment, looking out for any suspicious individuals in their (Pyre's) surroundings.

"BaAaACk TooO HaNddLIIiIiing!" Thank you, Numi. Your help is appreciated Numi. /pos

"Oooh yayy cool chair!!!" Pyre said about Numi's chair. They strapped in with their seatbelt and Reginald was off and driving. "Soooooooo where are we headed?"

"Well, I don't have many safe places to hide you that aren't run by the Agency but you had the right idea earlier about where would be a good place."

"How so?"

"Roxana's house. She has security cameras all over aswell as an entrance that takes a while to open if you don't know how. She also happens to have a very nice basement!"

"WHATTTTT??? Why do I have to go stay in a basement."

"You know exactly why, Agent. And having someone keeping an eye on you is especially good in situations like this," Reginald talked as he drove.

"C'mon, you don't trust me on my own?"

"Not particularly."

"Mean."

Reginald turned on the car radio and tuned it to the Agency frequency (a frequency only accessible to those with the special Agency radio installed.) A man came through the speaker, broadcasting to the Agency: "Attention, Agents and handlers alike, we need your help! One of our top Agents, Agent Phoenix, has been unreachable for the past few days. If you happen to know where they are or see them please bring the Phoenix to your nearest headquarters. There is Zoraxis ties suspected here, folks, so please make sure they actually arrive at the base. We are not saying that they have joined Zoraxis but please do keep an eye out. They are most recognizable for bright red hair, though, I'm sure most of you know who the Phoenix is. As always keep your ear to the ground, an eye to the spy, your nose in a book and your moth shut."

The two looked at eachother.

"That's not good."

They listened in on the conversation in silence through most of it and adding in a little "Oh yeah! Pris house buddies!" and a "Hehe- My Reggie also doesn't trust me to be completely on my own sometimes".

Then came the radio broadcast which they heard. Their silly smile turning into a concerned frown. "Uh-oh.."

"That's not good," they said in unison with Pyre.

"So they're LYING now! That's SUPER suspicious! You weren't gone for days! Now you definitely can't go back, that sucks.."

Reminder that they are still on the chair with the massage setting on and their voice is shaking the whole time.

"But don't worry, I'll help you out!" thumbs up!!!

"Prism house buddies!!!!" Pyre said before side eying Reginald for not trusting them alone.

"Agent, I'm not sure exactly what's going on but for your own sake I suggest ducking down below where anyone can see you."

Pyre unbuckled their seatbelt (unsafe!) and ducked below the glove compartment. They brought the sculpture with them and continued to look through it at Numi. They chuckled slightly at the chair sounds before agreeing with what Numi was saying.

"They're completely lying!!! And it is super suspicious!!! And yeah! I haven't been gone for days, it's barely been a few hours."

"Well, Agent, the other Phoenix-"

"Numi." Pyre corrected.

"Yes, Numi, is right. There's no way you can go back now."

Pyre sighed dramatically, "Fineeeeee but I know for sure that there's still something being hidden from me. And I want to know what it is."

"We will find out but right now the most important thing is that you don't get caught, again."

The two continued on their way to Prism's place, it wasn't too far so they should be there pretty soon.

"How long until you guys get there?" Head tilt. They got tired of the chair and set it to back massage mode, which made them figuratively melt into the seat. "Ohooh…. I want this in my office."

Their shadow momentarily left the reflection as the pocket mirror was no longer pointed at Numi.

"Were only a few minutes away so we'll be there momentarily." Reginald replied.

"Good, sitting here is kind of uncomfortable." You might expect sitting under a glovebox to not be the most accomodating but the reason Pyre was uncomfortable was because they were sitting in the weirdest possible pose. They were positioned in a wierd mix of the shrimp pose and a velociraptor. At least they still could see Numi who looked very comfortable and relaxed. Nevermind- Numi was now out of frame.

"I think I need a message chair too. Being a handler is hard work."

Soon enough Reginald pulled in to Pris' very long driveway. Reginald parked behind a large rock and stepped out. He went over to Pyre's side to open the door for them since they seemed a bit stuck. The second the door opened Pyre tumbled out onto the ground.

"Ouchhhh." The agent groaned in pavement pain.

"You really should…" they said relaxingly, which then changed to worry when they heard the tumbling and ouchies, immediately looking back into the small mirror.

The Numi shadow is now back on the glass thing looking at Pyro with worry. "You good? Also, need me to check the perimetter?" (That was not a typo, that's how they pronounce it /silly they're still learning)

Pyre, who fell holding the sculpture, was now laying on the ground still with the glass in hand (it's luckily not sharp enough to actually hurt them). Pyre places the piece down, dusted themself off and stood up. They bent backwards to crack their back before picking the sculpture back up and responding. "Yeah, I'm good. Only got a few scrapes and you'd know as a fellow Phoenix that I've been through much worse." The agent stretched a bit more before starting to walk up to the secret elevator that Numi had described earlier.

"Checking the perimeter may be a good idea. I don't expect Pris' place to be the first spit the Agency looks but it's best to be safe."

"Right you are, Agent."

Reginald, who knew the way, immediately walked over to the correct area and pressed some kind of buzzer to open the elevator door. Either that or he pressed the buzzer and Pris opened the door. Pyre couldn't tell which.

The two got in he elevator and ascended up. When they got to the top Pyre knew how to get in so they made a beeline for the sign. The garage opened and both walked in.

"Since when have you known how to get into Roxana's house?"

"Since today."

Reginald gave them an odd look, wondering how they found out, before just accepting it.

They let out a small amused snort. "Yeah, that's nothing compared to what happens at work!"

Their shadow remained on the shard for a moment, giving Pyre a silly serious sort of expression and a salute.

Numi sweeps the area quickly then comes back roughly a minute later.

"Area's clear!" they exclaimed with another enthusiastically exaggerated salute.

Pyre saluted back to Numi in the shard. The two definitely understood eachother better than anyone.

"Good, nobody suspects I'm here yet."

The Agent and their handler walked through Pris' house and not long after coming through the entry Pris popped over from her lab.

"Ah, Reginald, Pyre, any new on the Agency situation?"

Pyre sighed, "It just got worse."

"What happened?" Pris was intrigued.

"Let me tell you, it has been a long day. They'll tell you all about it after but first and foremost we need to get them hidden. You're basement is quite the nice place I've told them." Reginald's got to make sure everyone is safe before getting to talking. Handler mode has been on all day.

"Sure, follow me." Pris led the way.

Pyre talked to Numi, "Ughhhhh this is going to be soooo boring. At least I have you."

"Be polite, Agent."

"Oh, I meant no offence to you, Pris."

Pris laughed, "None taken. But I do still want to run some tests on you're earpiece and that glass. I mean the abilities Numi has are mindblowing..." Pris continued talking about how she wants to explain Numi's eldritch powers with her science stuff (but I'm sure science can't really explain that) and how mindblown she was for a while as the group went to her basement.

The Agent had to cut her off though, "WAIT, DO YOU HAVE A MASSAGE CHAIR???"

They began to test out other buttons while they (the others) made their way inside their own universe's Pris Cave. "Massage chair's upstairs….. OH SHIT IT CAN WARM!" It can indeed warm. Amazing.

"What DOESN'T this thing have?" Audible button click. Machinery noises.sfx. "THERE'S A TOASTER MODE???" Ding! Chhk! "OMG TOASTS--" They were munching so audibly, the toasts sound nice and crispy! Only part of them was visible on the reflection as they leaned 'out of frame' for the snack, eventually returning into full view with some distinct crumbs on their face. "I'm never moving from this spot.." Numi leans back into full comfort mode. "This is where I live now." they added chillingly.

"IT CAN WARM???? PRIS PLEASE TELL ME YOU HAVE A MASSAGE CHAIR DOWNSTAIRS TOO?"

"It's a state of the art seating system I created, not a massage chair, but I do have one downstairs."

"Sure, not a massage chair, whatever you say." It's definitely a massage chair.

"WAIT THERES TOASTERS???" Pyre absolutely sprinted downstairs, found the chair in her large basement and hopped in it. "Thiiiis iiiSsS sOoOoOO niCeEe."

"If it does massage, it's a massage chair." They pulled a pair of sunglasses out from one of their coat's large pockets (THE STASH!!) and put them on.

"I wonder when Reggie'll be back.. He's been gone a while" they mused to themselves. "Probably traffic or something. It's like, what…" They look at a wrist watch which they kept in their pocket for some reason? Squinting at it. "…I can't read that. *Anyway*~"

They put it back then hover the pocket mirror closer, checking out the entire building just for the sake of it. "OH!! Pyre! There's an icecream machine at your pris' place!"

Pyre held the glass and tried showing Numi their new massage chair, "YeEeEp deFIniTeLyYy aA mAsSAgE cHaiiR." Pyre messed around with the settings and found a nice relaxing one that didn't make their voice sound like it was glitching.

"Where did your Reggie go again?" Pyre had forgotten what Numi had said earlier. "Here it's around..." Pyre checked a clock in the basement. It was a robotic looking clock as one might expect from Pris. "Uhhh, it's 6:35. But we're probably in different timezones."

Pyre could overhear Reginald explaining what happened to Pris but didn't pay much attention to it. There are much more important things, such as icecream! "THERE'S AN ICECREAM MACHINE." Pyre jumped out of the chair and ran across the room to the machine, tossing their shard on the chair in the process.

Pyre could be seen across the room using their TK and their hands to get 3 cups of soft serve (they got all the kinds Pris had which were vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.) The Agent was holding the cups in their hands while also using their fingers to aim the TK. They then realized that hovering the cups was much more efficient and opted to doing that and just pulling the icecream levers. Pyre returned to the chair with 3 massive cups of icecream. The bowls all had cones on top aswell (optimized to hold the most amount of icecream).

Pyre absolutely devoured each cup and got up to head back for more. "Numi, you need to try this!!!"

"Agent, you may want to slow down. I'm not sure it's a good idea to eat that much icecream at once-"

"Pyre you're going to be sick if-"

Reginald and Pris were both interrupted by the sounds of the icecream machine. Then Reg and Pris continued to be interrupted by the Agent eating every bite. "NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW!" Now 6 cups in, Pyre went back for more.

"Dunno.." they shrugged shruggingly. "Said something about making up excuses for the two of us heading away from HQ, or something."

Numi leaves the chair to explore Rox's house on their end and eventually finds a numeric clock. YES!

"Oh! Says 1:35 PM on this."

This clock looks similar to the one they saw at Pris'…

Gasp!

THE ICECREAM MACHINE MUST BE NEAR!

"I'm going to!"

They are now running, the sound of their boots clicking against the floor until they eventually found their goal.

"YESSS!! ICECREAM FOR MEEEEeee!!hehehe!!" Gremlin mode: ON. They too are now consuming the iced creams. Very audibly mind you.

The sounds are… horrifying.

Pyre was now speaking through mouthfuls of icecream as they tried shoving more and more in their mouth, "This is so..." Munch munch munch, "gooooood."

Pyre was not onto their 15th bowl of icecream and already going for another. Reg and Pris both look EXTREMELY concerned at, both, what Pyre is doing and the eldritch sounds coming through that piece of glass.

Pyre went back for their 18th cup (they eat 3 at a time). They munched that down fast and were onto the 21st. Pyre started on the strawberry one but halfway through dropped the cup and absolutely sprinted away.

"Uh oh. I think they might be sick."

Reginald called to whatever bathroom Pyre was throwing up in, "I hate to say I told you so, Agent, but- wait! I absolutely love to say I told you so. Phoenix, this is exactly what I told you so." Reginald accidentally called them Phoenix, it's a habit.

While Pyre was succumbing to the limitations of a normal human body, Numi was practically leaning with their face underneath the icecream dispenser and eating it as it dropped down into a continuous flow of pure sinful gluttony. A small object held in place on the button/lever with TK.

Do they have a limit? Maybe, but they clearly haven't reached it yet.

They stopped abruptly. "OW!! OW WOOW O WOWOW-- OWWW" They immediately removed themselves out of the way of the machine as it kept dispensing the dairy treat uninterrupted. Holding their head and keeling over in pain, which is when their TK stopped and dropped both the object holding the lever in place and the pocket mirror.

They may have an infinite stomach, but they're not immune to brain freeze. The child keels over and lies down on the floor in shrimp position.

They pass out somehow. There's a small mess around them which tells the tale of their demise.. /silly

Reginald walked over to the massage chair and picked up the shard which he had been watching. "Looks like both Phoenix's are out of commission."

"Yeah. Speaking of which, I'll go check on Pyre."

Pris was momentarily gone but returned a few minutes later, "They threw up a lot and then fell asleep on my bathroom floor. I don't think they've slept for the past few days because I could not wake them. They do have a pulse though so Pyre is alive."

"Hmmm Hopefully their version of you or me finds Numi soon. I'm sure their fine but to make sure they haven't done any damage."

"Yes. Also I got Robutler to take Pyre to a bed. It's probably not best to keep them upstairs because of the whole Agency thing but we'd need to make a room down here soooo I figured while Robutler sets something up that they can sleep up there."

Robutler zoomed by with bedding supplies and a curtain for privacy a moment later.

Sure enough, Robutler 2 strolled by and found Numi on the floor. They're lowkey freaking out and trying to think of how to handle this very specific situation.

The child awakes from their icecream headache-induced coma with a long groan, lifting their face off the floor with enough difficulty that it felt as though it was sticky (It probably is a little.. because of the icecream).

"I'm.. good, I'm good." They push themselves off the floor and sit down with a slight unsteadiness.

"Not doing THAT again." they say groaningly, rubbing the bridge of their nose with closed eyes.

Robutler is very relieved! They instead get to cleaning up the mess.

"That didn't look too good. Are you alright, Numi?" Pris asked.

Robutler finished the little corner in the basement for Pyre. It had a mattress, a desk, a small dresser and a curtain for privacy. "I finished the room! I'll go get Pyre now." Robutler announced.

"Sounds good."

"Hmmm. You Phoenix's sure are resilient." He didn't realize that part of that was also that Numi is some kind of an eldritch being but they are both resilient too.

Robutler zoomed by with an unconscious Pyre over his shoulder. Despite the insomnia, once Pyre was asleep they were nearly impossible to wake. Robutler gingerly placed Pyre down on the mattress and shut the room with the privacy curtain.

"They're alright I assume?" Reginald asked Robutler.

"Yes, Pyre has a steady pulse. They seem to have not slept sooooo that's probably why they got knocked out by icecream."

"That makes a lot of sense." Pris laughed.

"Yeah- yeah! I'm good!" They got off the floor and looked at the stains on their clothes, frowning. "Aw, man… Hey, Robutler. Can you wash this for me- please?"

"Of course! But it will take roughly an hour to wash and dry."

"I don't mind. Just don't wash it with the stuff in the pockets, there's also some hidden pockets.." They swiftly unbuckled the belt of their coat and removed it in one swift movement, like they've practiced numerous times to look cool in front of others. Robutler let out a small sound of awe and took notes.

Handing the coat to Robutler, they quickly showed em where said pockets were before it took it and left.

The child™ chuckled anime-ly with a hand to their chin in confidence. "Yeah, we're like roaches! Nothing can take us out!" sparkle sparkle?? /silly

They then got themselves something to wipe off the dried up icecream from their face, gotta keep clean.. Reginald drilled the concept of hygiene into them the moment he found out Numi didn't even know what a bathtub was.

With the pocket mirror frozen in the air, it kinda looked like the shadow was getting smaller then bigger then- well you know what happens with reflections that move. Looks a bit funky since they're the only thing in view.

"So, Pyre's gonna be out for a while? Guess I'll just talk to you guys now."

"Good, good."

Pris looked at the glass Reginald was holding and could see Numi striking a pose? We're those sparkles? She laughed.

"Yes you Phoenix's indeed are like roaches," Reginald chuckled, too. "Maybe in more ways than one," he joked.

"Yeah, I'm not sure how long Pyre usually sleeps but-"

"If they're sleeping they will be sleeping for a while most likely."

"Exactly. But you have us!"

They scoff with amusement. "I'll crawl into your cabinets, come out to eat from your pantry and skitter off when the light turns on!" They actually did that before btw just fyi.

Numi walked towards a nearby window to look outside, one hand absentmindedly TK-grabbing the pocket mirror and dragging it along at an angle behind them. Now leaning against the ledge of the windowsill and admiring the views of the desert below.

"Yeah! Honestly, I'd like to try more cool stuff but Reggie might ground me if I do.. Already did the thing with the mirror too, he won't be happy about it." They pouted, elbow on the windowsil with their head resting tilted in their hand.

"I'll also have to explain what happened after he left.. hhhhhhnn…" They clearly don't like the intel exchange part of spywork. This lil fella prefers action!

"Well, whatever." They push themselves off and away from the window and head down towards Rox's lab with the pocket mirror now in hand.

"You guys should probably keep an eye on the Agency just in case they do find a trail. Maybe even work on something to let the rest of them know that the higher-ups are being shady as shi- heck." "-Oh! Start collecting tons of proof!" Smart kid!

"Hmm, you two sure are birds of a feather."

Ah yes, the explanation part of missions. Luckily Pyre doesn't currently have to do that

"We could probably help a bit with explaining to your handler. He might want to hear stuff from you specifically, though," Pris will try her best.

Reginald listened to the kid's suggestions. They were actually quite good. Reginald didn't know many children so he didn't have much of a basis but this kid seemed very smart.

"That's a good idea. Rox, you get the radio on incase of any Agency broadcasts and I'll-" His headset started ringing. Reginald held a finger up to tell everyone to be quiet for a second and stepped up the stairs.

"This is Crane speaking. What do you need?"

Muffled noises could be vaguely heard but since it was only coming through the headset and farther away Pris couldn't make out anything.

"No, I haven't been listening to the Agent broadcasts. Why?"

More muffled noises.

"You believe their with Zoraxis? I don't think so-"

He was cut off by the voice.

"Ah, I see. So, they are suspected to have contacted Zoraxis but nothing is actually known? Alright, well, I haven't seen them for a few days."

"Yes, I'll let you know if I see them. Yes, thank you."

And the call hung up.

"Yeah….." they trailed off, pressing a series of buttons (Call it instinct™ /silly (cheaterrr)) and waiting for the mechanisms to open up the door to the lab.

"Huh?" Their entire attention was now focused on Reg-2's side of the conversation, frowning deeply at the expected but still upsetting information they could gather from it.

"Darn…. Let's hope they don't actually suspect you, since you're like.. the handler."

Realization struck.

"You don't have anything they can track you with on you, do ya?" A beeping sound resonated and a door opened, they walked right in.

Reginald returned, "Yes, let's hope. I do think that at he current moment they still believe I'm not a part of this but the longer things go on the more suspicion will turn to me."

"Does your headset have a tracker in it?"

"No, and I don't believe I brought anything trackable. My car isn't an Agency one so it won't have any trackers like Pyre's might."

"Oh and what about when you went in to try and get them out of the Agency headquarters? Do you have any reason for you being their that you could give?"

"I don't think they payed much attention to me but since Pyre "has been gone for a few days" and I allegedly haven't seen them, then I could say I was going straight to Ricardo and his main office to ask since he'd have the best information."

"I hope Pyre didn't bring anything they could be tracked with."

"Hmm, they are quite cautious. They don't normally bring many things they can be tracked with at a moment's notice. I'll double check when they wake."

"And how are you doing over there, Numi?" Pris was still concerned about the icecream, aswell. That kid was a menace to all food.

A quick recap for all who aren't myself and Agent Phoenix Critter Core/ those of you who have not been following our many reblogs: Numi is their Phoenix and Pyre is my Phoenix. Numi is at Prism-1's (also known as Rox) house with Reginald-1. Numi has eldritch powers which led to them accidentally starting a voice call with Pyre. This call has recently upgraded to a video call but the video is seen through a small glass sculpture Pyre has been carrying around. Numi can sort of project themselves on any reflective surface, or at least that's how it looks to Pyre. Numi can only do this in places where the sculpture goes though. As for Pyre, they recently found out that there were a bunch of coroner's reports for them (as in each report detailed a different end for Pyre that happened on a mission. There are hundreds of these reports). The reports all seem legit so Pyre went to check out the Lost Asset Retrievel Unit (which is mostly located at o e of the agency bases)for any clues on what the reports meant, they got caught and then escaped with Numi's help. The agency did get their bag sadly but it only had a few things including the Phantom's note (oops for them). All the coroner's reports were signed by Morales; also the piece of glass was taken from his office when they were caught. When Pyre did get taken, they were moved to Morales' office and told to wait (they were locked in the room). Pyre is currently on an earpiece call with Roxanna-2 (also know as Pris) who is going to leave once she helps Reginald-2 and Pyre get a safe spot to meet. Pris is leaving because she has been on the call for a while and is getting tired.

The part about the glass being used for the call I didn't explain well so here's a better explanation: Numi used their powers to connect the surface of a stopwatch in their world to the surface of a shiny object (the sculpture was what Pyre chose) in Pyre's world. Numi can project themself on any reflective surface near the object. This includes access to any cameras nearby which means they can also stop the cameras.

Prism-1 and Reginald-1 refer to the version from Numi's universe and Prism-2 and Reginald-2 are from Pyre's universe. You get the idea I'm sure.

Might be good to mention that my Phoenix uses red text, Numi uses orange instead, the handlers both use blue and the Prisms are purple.

If you do want to read the other parts, here's the link to the last chain which has links to the ones before it and so on. Reading then will definitely give you better context but it may take a while. We continue the story by each rebloging. I think this is the 5th or 6th chain (?)

Anyway I think I got all the important stuff but when you (I'm referring to Agent-Phoenix-Critter-Core) reblog it add anything I missed. Now, we shall resume the story:

"I'm like 90% sure that's meant to be some kind of a sculpture... Ooh or maybe it's an award or something?"

"Pyre" Prism addressed them.

"Yeeees?"

"Reggie said that a safe meeting place should be at that restaurant down near the end of the city. He's friends with a lot of the people there and they don't know about the agency so they wouldn't alert anyone."

"Oh, well that's perfect. I started in that direction so I should be there in a few minutes." Pyre felt their stomach rumble. It was almost dinner and they hadn't eaten anything for the entire day so they were starving once they realized the time.

(This whole thing has happened in one day which is crazy because we've been writing this for multiple weeks)

Pyre drove for a few minutes before finding the slightly run down restaurant. They never minded if a place was run down, though. Pyre has eaten moldy food plenty of times and most places were way better than the moldy sandwiches left in a Zoraxis escape pod.

(Small corrections to the recap: Numi purposefully messed around and found pyre by coincidence. Also it's a pocket mirror, not a pocket watch. /lh /nm /gen) Numi nodded along to Pyre's musings, legs kicking in the air as they sat on Pris' main living room couch.

Their shadowy reflection kept bouncing from one spot to the next inside the car, taking a good look around to pass the time. "Wow.. I don't know what I'm in right now but this is hard to see through. Everything looks so weird!" they say with an amused tone while looking through one of the belt buckles' metallic bits. On their end it's like the image is broken up into a blurry UV map of the piece (like 3D art texturing basically).

Then the restaurant came into view.

"OOoh! Restaurant!"

The thought of a restaurant reminded them of food, which reminded them of how hungry they are as well. They let out a small groan. "Ro-butleerrrr!" they half-wiled pleadingly. "Fooooood!" Numi might be a little spoiled, honestly.

"Coming!" shouted the robot from out of frame. Rushing in with the plate in hand plus a complementary juicebox (Rox has those because it's convenient sometimes.. Also this isn't the first time Numi came back here). "Here you go! Be careful, it's hot! If you need me again I'll be charging up over there. Goodbye~" And off it goes into the-- the thing! You know the thing.

Numi had a large smile on their face when they saw the food arriving. "Thanks! And have a good nap." They took the plate and set it down on their lap, then the unopened juice box which they deposited on the cushion next to them.

The child looked down at the steamy plate of food and started to drool. There were no more words, only the sound of a consuming VOID (/silly) devouring everything on that plate with the energy of a kitten that hasn't eaten in 5 minutes.

"Oooohhh what food did you get?" Pyre asked as they got out of their car.

They grabbed the glass and started walking to the restaurant, getting a few wierd glances on the way. Pyre walked into the bar/ diner and spotted Reginald at one of the tables in the back corner. The diner was average sized and had enough people in it that nobody would be able to hear your conversations from far but it wasn't so busy that you could call the place 'popular'.

Pyre moved to the table and sat down across from Reginald. He opened his mouth to talk but was interrupted by a server who (luckily for Pyre) was ready, Reginald seemed to have already ordered and water which Pyre had definitely not drank for a while.

"Hi, you can call me Elliot, I'll be your server today. Your friend here already ordered for the two of you so here is a roast beef sandwich with extra cheese for you~" Pyre was given a plate with a delicious looking sandwich, and Reginald had remember that they liked extra cheese yayyy. "And a hotdog, extra cooked for you." Reginald got himself a hotdog that was slightly burnt, of course. The server walked off to go attend to other tables and left Pyre and Reginald to talk.

Pyre dug in while Reginald started talking.

"Well then, Agent, would you like to go first? Because frankly I did not hear a lick of what Roxanna was saying except for that you had been kidnapped- or was it caught?" Reginald sighed heavily. "Agent, would you care to explain what happened between when I left you and that radio alone, until now- and why do you have that thing? Is it meant to be art or is it some kind of award?" Reginald said stirnly as he poked the sculpture.

They let out a small burp, licking their mouth then wiping it with their sleeve before responding; "Sandwich! And an apple juice." Said apple juice was picked up after setting the empty plate aside, in goes the straw! Siiip. slurp. ssllllrp. SSLLLLRRRP. Ahh. Good stuff!

They watched and listened as Pyre entered the establishment, going "Ooo, yum!" at the description of what Pyre was getting for dinner.

Then came Reginald's monologue.

Sensing an opportunity to be silly, they moved their figure to the most prominent facet of the shard that faced Reg-2 directly.

"Boo!" The scribbly white eyes squinted up in amusement whilst they greeted Reginald-2 with a friendly wave. Snickering.

"I am the evil genie of the trophy thing! Fear me!"

The shadow made a gesture that could be easily recognized as drinking out of a straw from something in their hand which can't be seen. Pyre can hear the slurping.

Pyre was the only one who could hear Numi until they suddenly said boo and found some kind of a way to make it that Reginald heard it too.

"Aaaaah" Reginald shrieked in a very high-pitched tone. He startled and nearly jumped out of his seat while Pyre broke out in laughter. "Goodness gracious, what in the world is that THING, Agent???"

Pyre took aa minute to calm their laughter before saying: "The- the person from the radio-" their sentence was interrupted with occasional laughter "The other Phoenix, it's them." Pyre paused "wait you have a juice box??? Luckyyyy."

Reginald sighed again. "Agent, how on earth did you two do that?"

"I didn't do anything. It's Numi who has the powers. They did something- I'm not sure what- and were able to connect something shiny over on their end to something shiny here. So we can see them and they can see every shiny surface here. But they're connected to the sculpture so can only see stuff in the same place as it."

"That's quite interesting but I still believe I'm missing some context on why you had problems with the agency?"

"Oohhhhhh that. I found a bunch of my own death certificate's and went to go investigate. Pris was being my handler buttttt let's just say she didn't account for the many cameras. I got caught, blah, blah, blah, skip to me being taken down to Morales' office. I stole this." They held up the glass Numi was in. "Then Numi helped me get out by stopping the cameras. That sums it up I think."

"And why didn't you let me know about any of this before breaking into an Agency building?"

"I was pretty sure I could trust you but I had to be safe." Pyre chuckled slightly awkwardly. "Remember what happened with Juniper? Didn't want another of those." It was true but that was not Pyre's reasoning in the moment. In hindsight they definitely should have told Reginald, the person who knew Agency buildings like the back of his hand.

"I guess the trust issues were never written on your resume. Hmm but what can I expect from an Agent like you?" Reginald mumbled. "Alright. Wait, Agent have you slept at all since this morning? You woke up at 3 am didn't you? That is not good for you you know-"

"Whatever, I'll sleep tonight." That was probably untrue. They had barely gotten any sleep this week.

"Anyway, here's Numi. We can't really see what they look like unless we're in person but-"

"Hold on, Agent. Did you say you were brought to Morales' office?"

"Yeah? Why?"

"Why did Morales want to see you?"

"Uhm, he signed all the coroner's reports so I assume that has something to do with it."

"What? He signed the reports?" Reginald's Spidey senses are tingling.

They set the juice box in the air (Remembering about the TK!) and the pocket mirror in front of them (with TK as well ofc). Reclining back on the couch to stretch noisily. GGGHN!

"Yep! Me! From the radio!" they chimed in after Pyre explained who they were. "And yeaaah! I'm the lucky juice winner." they smirked smirkingly.

They lean back and bring the mirrow closer, hovering it in the air. Listening to the rest of the exchange in silence up until Pyre introduced them towards the end. Waving enthusiastically only to stop when Reg-2 cut Pyre off and asked about the reports.

Ohh.. That's a Reggie look of 'something's up' if they haven't seen one!

"Suspicious, right?!" they threw their hands up in the air to emphasize.

"So, of course we had to get Pyre out of there before whatever was coming next!" They grabbed the juice box out of the air and hastily slurped down the rest of its contents until it crumpled up, then tossed it into the nearby trash bin/can and missing it.

They frown and use their TK to 'fix the problem'. That never happened.. /silly

All the meanwhile, they could see the shadow do all of those movements and emotes. It looks kind of adorable.

"You always get the best snacks!!!" Pyre craved juice.

Pyre's explanation of the report's left many questions in Reginald's head. "It is quite suspicious."

Pyre heard Numi talk about getting them out and has to add to it. "Ooohhhh yes, Numi was a great handler! "

"Alright, I have many more questions but my first one is... What are they doing?" Reginald seemed very confused.

Pyre looked over to Numi who was throwing their juice box with their TK. They laughed a bit.

"I just threw the empty juice box into the trash from afar in one shot!" they lie with no hesitation, only pure confidence.

Numi grabbed the pocket mirror and got up, grabbing the plate to set it down on a surface that's not a seat before walking about the place, exploring as they kept talking.

"This place is huge! This is a lot for just one person to live in. Wow."

"That sounds like quite the feat." Reginald wasn't sure if it was true that they got the juice in but he couldn't prove that they didn't. /Silly

Both Reginald and Pyre finished up their meals. Pyre felt much better than before now that they had eaten. They looked into the glass and could see Numi moving. The shapes around then weren't super clear but they could definitely see Numi moving.

"Oooh yeah! Prism does have a massive house."

The waiter returnd, "Is there anything else I can get you two?"

"I'll have the cheque, thank you."

The waiter left and then came by not long after, "Here's your cheque, sir." The cheque was handed to Reginald and the server left them to handle it. Reggie looked at the paper, took out his wallet and pulled out a few bills.

"Well then, Agent, we best get moving too. I don't believe that the Agency knows I'm helping you for sure so they wouldn't be tracking my car but they would definitely be waiting for yours. I suggest leaving it here and coming in mine. Prism or I could pick it up later but right now we've got to find a safe place for you while we sort this out."

"Fineeeeeee, I guess." They did not feel like having to hide out somewhere while people do the talking for them but it's better than whatever Morales probably had planned.

Pyre grabbed the sculpture and he two walked out and down the road to Reginald's car. Pyre got in the passenger's seat and held the sculpture.

"So how's it going over there, Numi?"

"IiIIi FfOUUuNnDd AaAAH cOooOlL CHAaIIiIIR!" replied Numi vibratingly, sitting on some sort of hyper souped up chair which Roxana DEFINITELY has somewhere in her house.

They truly are having the greatest time, a funny contrast to Pyre's current predicament. The silhouette's outline is cartoonishly ripple-y and fuzzy as a result. At least they have Numi for comic relief.. /silly

The silly goober returned to their scouting duties once the duo exited the establishment, looking out for any suspicious individuals in their (Pyre's) surroundings.

"BaAaACk TooO HaNddLIIiIiing!" Thank you, Numi. Your help is appreciated Numi. /pos

"Oooh yayy cool chair!!!" Pyre said about Numi's chair. They strapped in with their seatbelt and Reginald was off and driving. "Soooooooo where are we headed?"

"Well, I don't have many safe places to hide you that aren't run by the Agency but you had the right idea earlier about where would be a good place."

"How so?"

"Roxana's house. She has security cameras all over aswell as an entrance that takes a while to open if you don't know how. She also happens to have a very nice basement!"

"WHATTTTT??? Why do I have to go stay in a basement."

"You know exactly why, Agent. And having someone keeping an eye on you is especially good in situations like this," Reginald talked as he drove.

"C'mon, you don't trust me on my own?"

"Not particularly."

"Mean."

Reginald turned on the car radio and tuned it to the Agency frequency (a frequency only accessible to those with the special Agency radio installed.) A man came through the speaker, broadcasting to the Agency: "Attention, Agents and handlers alike, we need your help! One of our top Agents, Agent Phoenix, has been unreachable for the past few days. If you happen to know where they are or see them please bring the Phoenix to your nearest headquarters. There is Zoraxis ties suspected here, folks, so please make sure they actually arrive at the base. We are not saying that they have joined Zoraxis but please do keep an eye out. They are most recognizable for bright red hair, though, I'm sure most of you know who the Phoenix is. As always keep your ear to the ground, an eye to the spy, your nose in a book and your moth shut."

The two looked at eachother.

"That's not good."

They listened in on the conversation in silence through most of it and adding in a little "Oh yeah! Pris house buddies!" and a "Hehe- My Reggie also doesn't trust me to be completely on my own sometimes".

Then came the radio broadcast which they heard. Their silly smile turning into a concerned frown. "Uh-oh.."

"That's not good," they said in unison with Pyre.

"So they're LYING now! That's SUPER suspicious! You weren't gone for days! Now you definitely can't go back, that sucks.."

Reminder that they are still on the chair with the massage setting on and their voice is shaking the whole time.

"But don't worry, I'll help you out!" thumbs up!!!

"Prism house buddies!!!!" Pyre said before side eying Reginald for not trusting them alone.

"Agent, I'm not sure exactly what's going on but for your own sake I suggest ducking down below where anyone can see you."

Pyre unbuckled their seatbelt (unsafe!) and ducked below the glove compartment. They brought the sculpture with them and continued to look through it at Numi. They chuckled slightly at the chair sounds before agreeing with what Numi was saying.

"They're completely lying!!! And it is super suspicious!!! And yeah! I haven't been gone for days, it's barely been a few hours."

"Well, Agent, the other Phoenix-"

"Numi." Pyre corrected.

"Yes, Numi, is right. There's no way you can go back now."

Pyre sighed dramatically, "Fineeeeee but I know for sure that there's still something being hidden from me. And I want to know what it is."

"We will find out but right now the most important thing is that you don't get caught, again."

The two continued on their way to Prism's place, it wasn't too far so they should be there pretty soon.

"How long until you guys get there?" Head tilt. They got tired of the chair and set it to back massage mode, which made them figuratively melt into the seat. "Ohooh…. I want this in my office."

Their shadow momentarily left the reflection as the pocket mirror was no longer pointed at Numi.

"Were only a few minutes away so we'll be there momentarily." Reginald replied.

"Good, sitting here is kind of uncomfortable." You might expect sitting under a glovebox to not be the most accomodating but the reason Pyre was uncomfortable was because they were sitting in the weirdest possible pose. They were positioned in a wierd mix of the shrimp pose and a velociraptor. At least they still could see Numi who looked very comfortable and relaxed. Nevermind- Numi was now out of frame.

"I think I need a message chair too. Being a handler is hard work."

Soon enough Reginald pulled in to Pris' very long driveway. Reginald parked behind a large rock and stepped out. He went over to Pyre's side to open the door for them since they seemed a bit stuck. The second the door opened Pyre tumbled out onto the ground.

"Ouchhhh." The agent groaned in pavement pain.

"You really should…" they said relaxingly, which then changed to worry when they heard the tumbling and ouchies, immediately looking back into the small mirror.

The Numi shadow is now back on the glass thing looking at Pyro with worry. "You good? Also, need me to check the perimetter?" (That was not a typo, that's how they pronounce it /silly they're still learning)

Pyre, who fell holding the sculpture, was now laying on the ground still with the glass in hand (it's luckily not sharp enough to actually hurt them). Pyre places the piece down, dusted themself off and stood up. They bent backwards to crack their back before picking the sculpture back up and responding. "Yeah, I'm good. Only got a few scrapes and you'd know as a fellow Phoenix that I've been through much worse." The agent stretched a bit more before starting to walk up to the secret elevator that Numi had described earlier.

"Checking the perimeter may be a good idea. I don't expect Pris' place to be the first spit the Agency looks but it's best to be safe."

"Right you are, Agent."

Reginald, who knew the way, immediately walked over to the correct area and pressed some kind of buzzer to open the elevator door. Either that or he pressed the buzzer and Pris opened the door. Pyre couldn't tell which.

The two got in he elevator and ascended up. When they got to the top Pyre knew how to get in so they made a beeline for the sign. The garage opened and both walked in.

"Since when have you known how to get into Roxana's house?"

"Since today."

Reginald gave them an odd look, wondering how they found out, before just accepting it.

They let out a small amused snort. "Yeah, that's nothing compared to what happens at work!"

Their shadow remained on the shard for a moment, giving Pyre a silly serious sort of expression and a salute.

Numi sweeps the area quickly then comes back roughly a minute later.

"Area's clear!" they exclaimed with another enthusiastically exaggerated salute.

Pyre saluted back to Numi in the shard. The two definitely understood eachother better than anyone.

"Good, nobody suspects I'm here yet."

The Agent and their handler walked through Pris' house and not long after coming through the entry Pris popped over from her lab.

"Ah, Reginald, Pyre, any new on the Agency situation?"

Pyre sighed, "It just got worse."

"What happened?" Pris was intrigued.

"Let me tell you, it has been a long day. They'll tell you all about it after but first and foremost we need to get them hidden. You're basement is quite the nice place I've told them." Reginald's got to make sure everyone is safe before getting to talking. Handler mode has been on all day.

"Sure, follow me." Pris led the way.

Pyre talked to Numi, "Ughhhhh this is going to be soooo boring. At least I have you."

"Be polite, Agent."

"Oh, I meant no offence to you, Pris."

Pris laughed, "None taken. But I do still want to run some tests on you're earpiece and that glass. I mean the abilities Numi has are mindblowing..." Pris continued talking about how she wants to explain Numi's eldritch powers with her science stuff (but I'm sure science can't really explain that) and how mindblown she was for a while as the group went to her basement.

The Agent had to cut her off though, "WAIT, DO YOU HAVE A MASSAGE CHAIR???"

They began to test out other buttons while they (the others) made their way inside their own universe's Pris Cave. "Massage chair's upstairs….. OH SHIT IT CAN WARM!" It can indeed warm. Amazing.

"What DOESN'T this thing have?" Audible button click. Machinery noises.sfx. "THERE'S A TOASTER MODE???" Ding! Chhk! "OMG TOASTS--" They were munching so audibly, the toasts sound nice and crispy! Only part of them was visible on the reflection as they leaned 'out of frame' for the snack, eventually returning into full view with some distinct crumbs on their face. "I'm never moving from this spot.." Numi leans back into full comfort mode. "This is where I live now." they added chillingly.

"IT CAN WARM???? PRIS PLEASE TELL ME YOU HAVE A MASSAGE CHAIR DOWNSTAIRS TOO?"

"It's a state of the art seating system I created, not a massage chair, but I do have one downstairs."

"Sure, not a massage chair, whatever you say." It's definitely a massage chair.

"WAIT THERES TOASTERS???" Pyre absolutely sprinted downstairs, found the chair in her large basement and hopped in it. "Thiiiis iiiSsS sOoOoOO niCeEe."

"If it does massage, it's a massage chair." They pulled a pair of sunglasses out from one of their coat's large pockets (THE STASH!!) and put them on.

"I wonder when Reggie'll be back.. He's been gone a while" they mused to themselves. "Probably traffic or something. It's like, what…" They look at a wrist watch which they kept in their pocket for some reason? Squinting at it. "…I can't read that. *Anyway*~"

They put it back then hover the pocket mirror closer, checking out the entire building just for the sake of it. "OH!! Pyre! There's an icecream machine at your pris' place!"

Pyre held the glass and tried showing Numi their new massage chair, "YeEeEp deFIniTeLyYy aA mAsSAgE cHaiiR." Pyre messed around with the settings and found a nice relaxing one that didn't make their voice sound like it was glitching.

"Where did your Reggie go again?" Pyre had forgotten what Numi had said earlier. "Here it's around..." Pyre checked a clock in the basement. It was a robotic looking clock as one might expect from Pris. "Uhhh, it's 6:35. But we're probably in different timezones."

Pyre could overhear Reginald explaining what happened to Pris but didn't pay much attention to it. There are much more important things, such as icecream! "THERE'S AN ICECREAM MACHINE." Pyre jumped out of the chair and ran across the room to the machine, tossing their shard on the chair in the process.

Pyre could be seen across the room using their TK and their hands to get 3 cups of soft serve (they got all the kinds Pris had which were vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.) The Agent was holding the cups in their hands while also using their fingers to aim the TK. They then realized that hovering the cups was much more efficient and opted to doing that and just pulling the icecream levers. Pyre returned to the chair with 3 massive cups of icecream. The bowls all had cones on top aswell (optimized to hold the most amount of icecream).

Pyre absolutely devoured each cup and got up to head back for more. "Numi, you need to try this!!!"

"Agent, you may want to slow down. I'm not sure it's a good idea to eat that much icecream at once-"

"Pyre you're going to be sick if-"

Reginald and Pris were both interrupted by the sounds of the icecream machine. Then Reg and Pris continued to be interrupted by the Agent eating every bite. "NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW!" Now 6 cups in, Pyre went back for more.

"Dunno.." they shrugged shruggingly. "Said something about making up excuses for the two of us heading away from HQ, or something."

Numi leaves the chair to explore Rox's house on their end and eventually finds a numeric clock. YES!

"Oh! Says 1:35 PM on this."

This clock looks similar to the one they saw at Pris'…

Gasp!

THE ICECREAM MACHINE MUST BE NEAR!

"I'm going to!"

They are now running, the sound of their boots clicking against the floor until they eventually found their goal.

"YESSS!! ICECREAM FOR MEEEEeee!!hehehe!!" Gremlin mode: ON. They too are now consuming the iced creams. Very audibly mind you.

The sounds are… horrifying.

Pyre was now speaking through mouthfuls of icecream as they tried shoving more and more in their mouth, "This is so..." Munch munch munch, "gooooood."

Pyre was not onto their 15th bowl of icecream and already going for another. Reg and Pris both look EXTREMELY concerned at, both, what Pyre is doing and the eldritch sounds coming through that piece of glass.

Pyre went back for their 18th cup (they eat 3 at a time). They munched that down fast and were onto the 21st. Pyre started on the strawberry one but halfway through dropped the cup and absolutely sprinted away.

"Uh oh. I think they might be sick."

Reginald called to whatever bathroom Pyre was throwing up in, "I hate to say I told you so, Agent, but- wait! I absolutely love to say I told you so. Phoenix, this is exactly what I told you so." Reginald accidentally called them Phoenix, it's a habit.

While Pyre was succumbing to the limitations of a normal human body, Numi was practically leaning with their face underneath the icecream dispenser and eating it as it dropped down into a continuous flow of pure sinful gluttony. A small object held in place on the button/lever with TK.

Do they have a limit? Maybe, but they clearly haven't reached it yet.

They stopped abruptly. "OW!! OW WOOW O WOWOW-- OWWW" They immediately removed themselves out of the way of the machine as it kept dispensing the dairy treat uninterrupted. Holding their head and keeling over in pain, which is when their TK stopped and dropped both the object holding the lever in place and the pocket mirror.

They may have an infinite stomach, but they're not immune to brain freeze. The child keels over and lies down on the floor in shrimp position.

They pass out somehow. There's a small mess around them which tells the tale of their demise.. /silly

Reginald walked over to the massage chair and picked up the shard which he had been watching. "Looks like both Phoenix's are out of commission."

"Yeah. Speaking of which, I'll go check on Pyre."

Pris was momentarily gone but returned a few minutes later, "They threw up a lot and then fell asleep on my bathroom floor. I don't think they've slept for the past few days because I could not wake them. They do have a pulse though so Pyre is alive."

"Hmmm Hopefully their version of you or me finds Numi soon. I'm sure their fine but to make sure they haven't done any damage."

"Yes. Also I got Robutler to take Pyre to a bed. It's probably not best to keep them upstairs because of the whole Agency thing but we'd need to make a room down here soooo I figured while Robutler sets something up that they can sleep up there."

Robutler zoomed by with bedding supplies and a curtain for privacy a moment later.

Sure enough, Robutler 2 strolled by and found Numi on the floor. They're lowkey freaking out and trying to think of how to handle this very specific situation.

The child awakes from their icecream headache-induced coma with a long groan, lifting their face off the floor with enough difficulty that it felt as though it was sticky (It probably is a little.. because of the icecream).

"I'm.. good, I'm good." They push themselves off the floor and sit down with a slight unsteadiness.

"Not doing THAT again." they say groaningly, rubbing the bridge of their nose with closed eyes.

Robutler is very relieved! They instead get to cleaning up the mess.

"That didn't look too good. Are you alright, Numi?" Pris asked.

Robutler finished the little corner in the basement for Pyre. It had a mattress, a desk, a small dresser and a curtain for privacy. "I finished the room! I'll go get Pyre now." Robutler announced.

"Sounds good."

"Hmmm. You Phoenix's sure are resilient." He didn't realize that part of that was also that Numi is some kind of an eldritch being but they are both resilient too.

Robutler zoomed by with an unconscious Pyre over his shoulder. Despite the insomnia, once Pyre was asleep they were nearly impossible to wake. Robutler gingerly placed Pyre down on the mattress and shut the room with the privacy curtain.

"They're alright I assume?" Reginald asked Robutler.

"Yes, Pyre has a steady pulse. They seem to have not slept sooooo that's probably why they got knocked out by icecream."

"That makes a lot of sense." Pris laughed.

"Yeah- yeah! I'm good!" They got off the floor and looked at the stains on their clothes, frowning. "Aw, man… Hey, Robutler. Can you wash this for me- please?"

"Of course! But it will take roughly an hour to wash and dry."

"I don't mind. Just don't wash it with the stuff in the pockets, there's also some hidden pockets.." They swiftly unbuckled the belt of their coat and removed it in one swift movement, like they've practiced numerous times to look cool in front of others. Robutler let out a small sound of awe and took notes.

Handing the coat to Robutler, they quickly showed em where said pockets were before it took it and left.

The child™ chuckled anime-ly with a hand to their chin in confidence. "Yeah, we're like roaches! Nothing can take us out!" sparkle sparkle?? /silly

They then got themselves something to wipe off the dried up icecream from their face, gotta keep clean.. Reginald drilled the concept of hygiene into them the moment he found out Numi didn't even know what a bathtub was.

With the pocket mirror frozen in the air, it kinda looked like the shadow was getting smaller then bigger then- well you know what happens with reflections that move. Looks a bit funky since they're the only thing in view.

"So, Pyre's gonna be out for a while? Guess I'll just talk to you guys now."

"Good, good."

Pris looked at the glass Reginald was holding and could see Numi striking a pose? We're those sparkles? She laughed.

"Yes you Phoenix's indeed are like roaches," Reginald chuckled, too. "Maybe in more ways than one," he joked.

"Yeah, I'm not sure how long Pyre usually sleeps but-"

"If they're sleeping they will be sleeping for a while most likely."

"Exactly. But you have us!"

They scoff with amusement. "I'll crawl into your cabinets, come out to eat from your pantry and skitter off when the light turns on!" They actually did that before btw just fyi.

Numi walked towards a nearby window to look outside, one hand absentmindedly TK-grabbing the pocket mirror and dragging it along at an angle behind them. Now leaning against the ledge of the windowsill and admiring the views of the desert below.

"Yeah! Honestly, I'd like to try more cool stuff but Reggie might ground me if I do.. Already did the thing with the mirror too, he won't be happy about it." They pouted, elbow on the windowsil with their head resting tilted in their hand.

"I'll also have to explain what happened after he left.. hhhhhhnn…" They clearly don't like the intel exchange part of spywork. This lil fella prefers action!

"Well, whatever." They push themselves off and away from the window and head down towards Rox's lab with the pocket mirror now in hand.

"You guys should probably keep an eye on the Agency just in case they do find a trail. Maybe even work on something to let the rest of them know that the higher-ups are being shady as shi- heck." "-Oh! Start collecting tons of proof!" Smart kid!

"Hmm, you two sure are birds of a feather."

Ah yes, the explanation part of missions. Luckily Pyre doesn't currently have to do that

"We could probably help a bit with explaining to your handler. He might want to hear stuff from you specifically, though," Pris will try her best.

Reginald listened to the kid's suggestions. They were actually quite good. Reginald didn't know many children so he didn't have much of a basis but this kid seemed very smart.

"That's a good idea. Rox, you get the radio on incase of any Agency broadcasts and I'll-" His headset started ringing. Reginald held a finger up to tell everyone to be quiet for a second and stepped up the stairs.

"This is Crane speaking. What do you need?"

Muffled noises could be vaguely heard but since it was only coming through the headset and farther away Pris couldn't make out anything.

"No, I haven't been listening to the Agent broadcasts. Why?"

More muffled noises.

"You believe their with Zoraxis? I don't think so-"

He was cut off by the voice.

"Ah, I see. So, they are suspected to have contacted Zoraxis but nothing is actually known? Alright, well, I haven't seen them for a few days."

"Yes, I'll let you know if I see them. Yes, thank you."

And the call hung up.

I don't think I ever posted on what Pyre's actual name would be (partially because it's taken me forever to find one I like that would both fit them and be normal for their parents to name them. Like I really liked the name Pyrrhus but just in general it would be too rare for their parents to actually name then)

Anyway I have finally settled on the name Crimson! It's not a common name, sure, but it's also not going to be wierd to be named (btw I love odd names it's just the charecters of their parents would name them something that original)
