Hey friends!
As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been absent for a week or two. Don’t worry, I’m perfectly fine! Well, besides a dumb head cold that won’t go away.
ifindnoconclusion started following you
"Hi there."
"You blue hedgehogs keep getting smaller and smaller.
Who are you?" Not that Silver particularly cared, but he could at least try and be nice. He still felt tense, impatient. It took a lot not to just push the younger Mobian aside and continue on his way.
Home
How many worlds had he crossed in the last few weeks?
Too many to keep track of. Way too many. Silver had seen so much, been through so many universes, though he knew that he had only begun scratching the surface of what was out there. Echidna after echidna, island after island, and he didn't seem any closer to finding his own planet. He was exhausted. He was stressed. And every hour he was growing more and more agitated, more antsy, feeling more lost than he ever had before. He wasn't homesick, not really; the future he came from was hardly something to miss.
But he didn't like the sensation he felt when traveling the multiverse, either. It felt like he was stuck in the middle of the ocean, jumping from lifeboat to lifeboat without ever finding the shore. Silver was as determined of a guy as they came, but the glow in his eyes had long died out. He was starting to lose hope. It was only a matter of time before he crossed something very dangerous, or ended up in a place of no return.
Nothing felt different about this island in the sky than any other had. Same clouds overhead. Trees, and fresh, green land. Probably a shrine not to far off in the distance; Silver could feel the power around him, giving his body that slightest extra boost of energy he needed to will himself to walk. Another day, another echidna to hunt down, beat around, and probably find out that the whole trip had been pointless. And then he'd do the same thing the next day, and the next, and the next. And he'd get nowhere.
Ears swerved as he caught noise not far off. An animal? Or, maybe the very Guardian he was looking for. Claws stretched and clenched before he switched directions, heading towards the sounds he'd heard instead. Best get this over with.
Details let out a quiet hesitant chuckle, aware that Silver was greatly annoyed, being the reason to why he spoke to Blaze in a slow manner, as if explaining to a child why the sun rose. But, Blaze didn't seem too shaken by the hedgehog's increase of anger. It just made her happy. How she loved to get people all riled up.
Pushing Details away, always tired of that pesky voice floating inside her head, the feline gave Silver an even bigger smile. Truthfully, she was quite interested in why he wanted to find a Knuckles. The answer he gave was too vague. Blaze was never a fan of those kind of answers.
  "What kind of stupid thing?"
Silver exhaled slowly, eyes closing. Breathe. Just breathe. The cat was trying to get under his skin and it was working; his claws twitched, quills ever so slightly bristling, ears flat down as he quietly counted backwards from ten. Don't move, don't look at her, he told himself silently. Don't say anything that would be regretted later. And for the love of whatever gods may exist, don't attack, not out of rage. Silver could fight without losing himself, but not if he started the brawl after already snapping.
And right now, the white hedgehog was as on edge as he could possibly be.
So, voice slow and quiet, Silver spoke, golden eyes cracked open just a sliver. "...A stupid thing that will cause the destruction of my future. And I don't know what he'll do, so don't ask. Do you have information or not? Because so far, you've been a waste of my time."
+ a bitter resentment
Scourge gave the other a lecherous grin, stepping up behind him and placing a hand on his shoulder. “Ya know, money ain’t the only thing we can use as payment. I’ll tell ya what. If yer man enough ta give me a kiss on the cheek, then I’ll tell ya what I know about a certain red echidna. But I ain’t promisin’ its the one yer lookin’ fer.”
He released Silver’s shoulder and motioned to his cheek. “Whatcha say, Spikes?”
Silver almost socked Scourge right in the face out of pure impulse when he was touched, but luckily for the green hedgehog, besides a slight hand quiver, the psychokinetic didn't react. He just turned back, frowning, and soon after hearing the other's offer began to scowl, snout crinkling slightly. A kiss on the cheek? Why in the world would Scourge want that? Kissing wasn't too common from Silver's future; well, at least, it was certainly unheard of when regarding complete strangers.
Who knows where this green booger had been?
Still, it was a small price to pay for what could be valuable information. So Silver exhaled before swiftly leaning forward to just barely peck at the other's face, looking both unfazed and unamused. "There. Happy? Spill."
"Here?" The Queen scoffed, "no, but practically every other zone has those echid-..." Her voice trailed off and she eyed the Silver alternate, smile twisting, but an uncertain glint in her eyes.
Now that she thought about it, this white hedgehog wasn't like his alternates. Yes, he had different looks, but his attitude was also off. Most Silvers would be patiently waiting and smiling softly. In her experience, all of them did that. Yet this one had been impatiently watching her, eyes often darting around. Blaze was surprised he didn't start tapping his foot or something.
So, the feline raised an eye brow, deciding to drag out the meeting just to annoy him. "Why do you want to find a Knucklehead, anyway?"
Silver's annoyance was so blatant one might have been able to actually feel his frustration in the air. What was this, twenty questions? Why did it matter what he needed the Guardian for? He didn't respond right away, instead dipping his head, rubbing his face with his fingers in slow, relaxing motions. He'd felt himself on the edge of snapping, which certainly would not have been a good thing. Besides being rude, he might have ended up trying to make a pair of kitty slippers. Yeah, not a good idea.
When he finally allowed his hand to drop and he looked up, he was struggling to keep his voice level, tail twitching behind him. "...I need to stop him from doing something stupid," was all he said, purposely speaking very slowly and with much emphasis, almost like he was trying to insult Blaze's intelligence. Temper, temper, Silver.
+ k6k
"Hey, the hell are ya doin’?!" She yelped out with him grabbing her arm to look at the crest, or what looked to be one. Spots of it were burn off due to unknown reasons which only she knew, hearing the hiss from him.
K6K yanked her arm away and backed off and now wished she had her robotic arm, otherwise she could prove it by clobbering him,” I told ya before and I’ll say it again, I ain’t a guardian. I’ve met the guardian and some of his family, I ain’t one of them! Now, if ya excuse me, I’m gonna go home to my son!” She turned about and was starting to walk off, having had enough of this rude Silver.
"Yeah, right," Silver sneered, letting go of the other's arm, but not looking very convinced. He did keep his distance as she backed off, however. Close fighting was not something he was skilled at, need be. His eyes were locked on the echidna and as she turned around, starting to walk off, he was quick to act, tossing a hand out in front of him. A blueish glow lit his clawtips, creating a small, translucent, azure barrier in front of the girl's path.
He took one step closer then, getting into a fighting sort of stance. "If you want to leave," he said, eyes narrowed. "Then you're going to have to give me proof that you aren't the Guardian, or that I don't belong here. Words are useless." His ears twitched, gaze momentarily flicking around, searching for a sign. Was he doing the right thing? Was he completely off? Ugh, if only he'd been given more information...
More people to keep track of. Three new hedgehogs. One of them… a Scourge. Well, this will be either be interesting or just a lot more work for Zonic.
What an oddly dressed hedgehog.
Golden eyes studied the cop with vague interest. Never had Silver seen such armor, and it was rather intriguing. The other looked almost like he was ready to go into battle. Of course, if Silver had known he was facing a cop of the multiverse, he would certainly not have stayed around to chat. But as it was he slowly walked over, rubbing his chin with a claw.
"...Say, where'd you get clothes like that? Looks neat."
"Guardians." She repeated, head slowly tilting, yellow eyes clouding and becoming distant as if she were shuffling through old memories.
Blaze had in fact met Guardians. If this Silver was talking about Knuckles' alternates, who were Guardians of the Master Emerald, she would be able to answer his question. The Queen hadn't seen a Knuckles in a while though. Every single one she'd met, a fight had started. She had even sent one to the hospital. Good times, good times.
Violet ears flickered as she rubbed her chin, grin become lopsided, teeth glinting like his claws. "I have seen a few Guardians. Red echidnas, correct?"
Silver looked the slightest bit impatient as he waited for an answer, trying to shift his gaze from the feline to the area around him. Something was definitely off about this cat, no doubt about it, but it didn't really do much to unsettle the hedgehog. It just made him want to be on his way that much more, not wait here while the other tested his patience. He was in the middle of exhaling and running a hand through his quills when Blaze finally continued to speak, causing his ears to perk and twitch with her response given.
"..Yeah, red echidnas. Suppose to be powerful, and have some sort of.. crest thing. Is there one around here?" He seemed a little more interested now. So the other may not be useless after all, she seemed to know who Silver was talking about, and that made him much more attentive.
+ prince....
Knuckles eyes widened. The other had stopped the rock in mid-air! He assumed he’d dodge it or at least duck under it but no. He seemed to possess powers to act as a defense as well as an offense.
"Silver- gyah!" The rock came barreling back towards him and he balled his fist and crossed his arms over his face  to protect it. However, everywhere else wasn’t as lucky. When the rock collided with his body, it smashed into a bunch smaller pieces making his feet slid backwards a bit.Â
He grit his teeth together. That had hurt his already sore chest from the earlier attack and one of his hands clutched at it again letting out a grunt in pain. He quietly cursed his inability to retain endurance to repetitive blows in a certain area. A slight growl was made and he whipped his arms away from his face.
"Just what do you intend to accomplish by this?!" Knuckles was mildly annoyed if anything. Mainly because the other seemed to pay absolutely no attention to what he was saying. "Do you even know why you’re attacking me?!"  He put himself into fighting position. Of course the idea of running reached his mind, but he had a feeling even if he did flee the other would catch up to him.Â
And if anything, Silver’s way of fighting seemed to consist in long ranged attacks that could definitely hurt if not avoided. He did not want to even think about turning his back on this one. He didn’t even know what the hedgehog was capable of. It would be better if he did not take that chance. Underestimating his opponent was probably one of the main things he’d learned not to do. The hard way.Â
So far, Knuckles was proving to be a disappointing opponent. Silver paused only to watch the rock crack on target, and despite the echidna's defense, he was pleased to note that it pushed the other back, even if only a little. A small distance between them in reality was a whole lot more to Silver, and as soon as the echidna grunted Silver raised a hand quickly as he prepared to slice another psychic knife through the air. He was stopped, however, by the other speaking, and he had to force himself to hold back, hands visibly shaking as he fought back the itch to attack.
What did he attend to accomplish? Why was he attacking? To save his future! Of course.. there was always the high chance that this wasn't his world at all. This could be a completely innocent guy. Silver could be making a complete ass of himself.
Silver had these thoughts in mind for the entire brawl but he'd tried to shove them back. Now, he couldn't help but allow them to resurface, fingers trembling slightly, a faint blue glow dancing along his clawtips. It gave him a headache to try and think rationally while he was in the process of losing himself into the fight, but he was definitely trying now, yellow eyes flicking from Knuckles to his own hands and then back again.
Then a glance was given around the area. No sign yet. Not one he'd caught, anyway. Maybe he'd missed it, or he was too dense to catch it, or he hadn't done enough yet.. or maybe there wasn't going to be any sign because this wasn't the right guy. Just as possible, if not moreso.
Silver scowled a bit and then gave a rather irritated sigh, letting his arms fall to his sides. Back down to earth, losing that craving for echidna-beating, he clenched his fists, eyes still trained on the Guardian warily. "..You must not be him," he said rather flatly. "I expect somebody much more fierce. Are you even a Guardian at all?"
+ k6k
She raised a brow when he asked if she was a guardian or not, in his own way, shaking her head,” I ain’t a guardian, never have and never will be. I just live here on the island.”
But, she looked like words alone wouldn’t convince him, grumbling and pulling her shirt down a bit. Her crest looked to be black though and most of it was burned, showing that it wasn’t the white crest that the Guardians had,” See? I ain’t a guardian, so ya better stop yellin’ about it!”
Unfortunately for the girl, her cooperation didn't help her case.
The hedgehog's eyes widened and he was quick to move into the echidna's personal space, making a grab for the other's arm. His eyes were wide, even wild, golden orbs locked on that dark crest. What a pathetic liar, his mind hissed, though he didn't speak it aloud. Why would the other lie to his face, after willingly showing him her crescent? Of course, Silver had no idea what color the mark was suppose to be. He hadn't been told. This girl had a mark and that was enough evidence to send Silver into a fit.
"Not a Guardian," he repeated almost jeeringly. Then he retracted his arm and tried to shove the other back, desiring to be out of close range. "We'll see about that!"
"Different? I suppose you could say that." He had been called worse things before. It was easy to see that this alternate was much more somber than the average alternate was. Ray honestly wasn’t sure whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. "Floating island?" His eyebrow raised. "Maybe not around here, but I know where one is." He smirked. "If you’re nice, maybe I’ll take you to see it."
Silver held up his hands in a surrender sort of motion. "I'm nice, I'm nice," he replied, tail twitching a bit. Hm, he had certainly met another yellow fluffball of a creature before, hadn't he? Silver couldn't for the life of him remember the alternate's name, however. He wasn't very good with remembering little things. "You don't have to take me, I'm sure I can find it. Just looking for the Guardian, that's all."
That only just confused the kitten, she hasn’t met anyone who didn’t like touch before…how can anyone not like contact?
"I sorry…"
Now she was just going to stare disappointingly at the ground.
Well, great. Silver hadn't meant to make the kid upset, he just didn't like to be touched by strangers! It usually lead to a fight back home. Most physical contact from the future was given with ill intentions, and it made the psychokinetic more than antsy. Getting nervous was really something he couldn't afford, not if he wanted to keep his cool and avoid losing his head.
"...You didn't know. Just be careful.
..Anyway, I'll be on my way, I guess. Thanks."
+ a bitter resentment
"Everyone does somethin’ stupid once in a while, Spike." Scourge had come up with a ridiculous nickname for the silver hedgehog already. His blue eyes shimmered with mirth. "Ya gotta be more specific if ya want my help. An’ whats in it fer me?"
"I ain’n got nothin’ ta gain from sellin’ out someone I may er may not know. An’ if there’s nothin’ ta gain, them I ain’t interested." His hands found their way back into his pockets, his expression feigning nonchalance. Â
Spike? Silver didn't look too pleased with the nickname but neither did he comment on it. He just glowered a bit, the corners of his lip and his eye both quivering slightly in the grave annoyance he was starting to feel towards this green stranger. Scourge didn't need any more information, and Silver had nothing to give him. He didn't have a penny nor possession to his name that he could offer up, and he didn't really want to, either.
So he just shook his head, raising a hand as he stepped away. "..Never mind. I don't have anything to give you, I'll just find him on my own. Thanks for all the help." Boy, was the white hedgehog's voice dripping with sarcasm there.
"I’m not alone, i’m just waiting for my beloved scourgey to return, sadly he’s been put in jail, but sooner or later he will return and re cooperate in this very castle! and i can finally smashy him~!" the girl would chuckle, with a huge grin on her face as she held her hammer out once again "But I guess you could be my next smashy victim right?"
the girl would jump, and aim for the hedgehog, flailing her hammer around her area, this time making sure her attack was on missable, thou knowing this hedgehog he might just dodge it once again
"Smashy! Smashy! Smashy!!" she would sing the words to herself in a little tune
Scourge put in jail? Alright, Silver could picture that. The green hedgehog hadn't particularly seemed like a good guy of any sorts. Just a whole lot of trouble, and he could only imagine what his kingdom was like. Then again, the psychokinetic hadn't really seen anybody else while walking around this place; just the pink girl. The crazy, crazy pink girl. He almost didn't catch that last bit of hers in time, too lost in thought. It was only when a spiked mallet was slamming down towards his head that he decided to act.
He raised his hand only fast enough to stop the hammer from hitting him about two centimeters away, his heart racing as he created a mind barrier between him and the weapon. What in the hell was wrong with this woman? He took a shaky step back, pupils shrinking a sliver as he focused on the mallet, and after a moment, he swapped tactics; a blueish glow spread across the hammer faintly, and he tried to lift it from the girl's hand, or at least raise her into the air with it.Â
"Stop," he hissed quietly, moving back just a bit more. It took all he had to keep himself level headed and not go into panic mode. "I just want to leave. I don't want to hurt you." That was a pretty big lie- Silver was itching to give the girl a piece of his mind right now, honestly, and quite literally- but he knew he shouldn't act on these impulses.
+ several people
-Silver? Okay, Sonic wasn’t sure he wanted to know how this Silver got in here, but… He looked a little… Different. Those quills and… How sharp were those fangs!? Sharper than his own that was for sure.-
… Silv? What’re you doin’ here, buddy?
-Well, when Silver popped up, it usually meant something was going weird with time, huh? Even if this one did seem a little… Creepy.-
Silver had been fine enough with ignoring the blue hedgehog, and he'd been about to be on his way when the other spoke, causing the psychokintetic to pause and look back. His ears twitched as he studied the stranger a little more closely, noticing just how alike the other really looked to that green guy he had met a day or so prior. Scourge, hadn't that been his name? Perhaps this was an alternate of said man.. though he definitely didn't come off as sly as Scourge had.
And the other seemed to know him, as well. Silver wondered if that meant there was a version of himself around here; if so, this zone couldn't possibly be his! But it was worth looking into, he supposed.
"...I'm looking for somebody. You know any Guardians?" Way to get right to the point. He backtracked a little after a moment, scratching the fluff around his neck with a claw. "...Uh.. Who are you, anyway? You're a Scourge alternate, right?" Of course, he didn't mean any offense by it. He'd just met one of the bad-boy hedgehogs before he had ever met anybody like the blue speedster.
Did you think she wasn’t going to notice the ears lowering, Silver? Oooh no, she noticed alright. Which caused her own ears to droop slightly.
And gently pet a fist, as if that would make it any bit better.
"No sad please, you find zone…I know you will."
When Silver's fist was touched he retracted his arm abruptly, brows knitting into a scowl at the feline. He wasn't use to being touched, not in any manner that was positive. After taking a step back he brushed his hands off, those lowered ears twitching.
"...Not all people like being touched. You should ask first.
I know I'll find it.. eventually. It'll just take time."
