The mating bond is a sacred concept in this world—a bridge that exists between souls. Both Azriel and Gwyn have been dealt cards that have laid the foundation for their journey and I am so very excited to see that journey unfold, both individually and together. I think it will be so very special once their bond officially snaps and they realize just how worthy they truly are and that acceptance comes from within. Love is idle, but true.

Gwynriel × The Little Mermaid

Who else remembers watching The Little Mermaid and being excited seeing Prince Eric's statue in Ariel's cave? Well, that scene has always stuck with me, and I wanted to recreate it for Gwynriel.

Much like Ariel, who longed to be part of the world above the sea, Gwyneth Berdara longs to be free of the library at last and to be part of the world above her once again. She wants to take the road no one dares travel.

Much like Prince Eric, I could see Azriel slowly falling in love with Gwyn as he shows her around Velaris, or maybe as they go on missions together around Prythian 👀 and maybe we even get a little switch up where Gwyn has to save Azriel with her voice and true loves kiss 😘

This commission was done by the absolutely wonderful artist, @alexwillustration. She took my idea and created a beautiful masterpiece!

That was time slowing again. Bryce could see every spark of silver flame coiling about the blade, see it reflected in Nesta’s eyes.

The sword descended into Vesperus’s head one last time. Inch by inch, shattering bone and spraying gore—

Time snapped back into movement, but Vesperus did not.

Vesperus, the only Asteri left on this world, lay dead.

For this day, @melphss and I are excited to share this stunning art of Nesta as a badass warrior. One of our favorite parts of HOFAS was seeing the characters thourght Bryce eyes, and it was amazing to see how far Nesta has grown since the beggining of the series. I think its fair to assume nowadays Nesta is not someone who would be easily at someone’s mercy.

I do not have the words to express how excited both myself and @goghwilde are for their book; their journey. From strangers to friends and on the pathway to lovers, what Azriel and Gwyn have is very special. I cannot wait to immerse myself in their love story! (I also cannot wait for Azriel to realize that everything he’s ever wanted has been right in front of him this whole time)

A story built off of friendship, of mutual respect, of trust, of believing in one’s self and experiencing self worth. Two individuals that experienced the depths of the darkness and sought the light—that which exists within the combination of their yin and yang, of shadow and light.

I want to give a massive thank you to @jacqueillustrates for this stunning masterpiece! I could not have worked with a more spectacular artist for this piece. You have created something so very special!

I think these two look amazing together in any universe, so why not have a little fun and turn them into mermaids? And Az’s shadows might not be able to follow him under the sea, but look at those swirling, shadowy fish…
