Celebrity Status // Emma & Igor
emma-vxnity:
It was official. Emma had received the news at practice earlier that day - their first real game of the year would be a week from Sunday. No more practice, no more publicity events for awhile. She was finally going to do what she had trained to do - play the damn game! Always eager for a reason to celebrate, the young witch set out for the Leaky where she had plans to meet up with some of her teammates. As per the usual, she was the first to arrive. Emma was known for being prompt, if not early, and she should have expected the others to show up a little more than fashionably late. She was too excited to care. With a grin on her face, she made her way to the bar, sliding herself onto an empty stool near the end, and waited for the bartender to make his way toward her. Emma had slowly gotten used to the fans that would approach her, enjoying the experience the more her fame grew. She was far from the point that some reached where she wished to be left alone. So, when the cute guy she hadnât noticed before slid in near her, it was impossible not to smile. âNo, I donât mind at all. Thank you!â Her eyes sparkled, even in the dim lighting, always taking pride in receiving praise. It was clear, too, that the manâs passion for Quidditch was sincere; he wasnât merely trying to hit on some pretty girl. âIâm Emma, Emma Vanity,â she introduced, even though he clearly knew who she was already, âThat would be great. Iâd like that.â Leaning forward slightly against the bar, she grinned, crossing one leg over the other. âI always love to talk game with,â my fans, she wanted to say, though it seemed a bit presumptuous, âother enthusiasts. Are you a Falcons fan orâŠ?â
Igor felt his heart soar as the witch smiled, the sparkle of her eyes matching the spark of energy she brought to the team. Â He was impressed that she took his praise. Â She was strong and knew when to be proud of herself, none of that false modesty that so many people found charming. Â She knew her own talent and embraced it. Â She was positively radiant. Â Igor smiled, taking another large swig of his beer.
âI would love it as well. Â Any way to repay you for the gift of your abilities on the pitch.â Â He leaned forward and instructed the bartender to put her drinks on his tab. Â He had enough money with him that he would be able to cover her for the entire night, but he didnât want to wave it in her face. Â He would settle the tab later that night before she had a chance to question him. Â
âI am a newer Falcons fan, I suppose.  As English teams go they seem to be the most entertaining... you all seem to be the most entertaining, I should say.â  He still felt as if his  heart couldnât beat any faster than it was right now.  She was just as captivating in person as she was on the pitch.  He smirked.  âThe Vratsa Vultures are the real heroes of quidditch, but the Falcons are quickly becoming my second favorite.  Iâm anxious to see how your team does in the season.â Â
