"You came to me for information, didn't you?" Sirius stepped closer to where Remus sat on the stone, stepping into the space between his knees. They were at eye level like this, and Sirius took full advantage of that, not looking away for a second.

Then, Sirius looked down at the stake in Remus's hand. "You're holding that like it's doing something." Very slowly, he reached down, watching Remus's face the entire time. "I don't know how to convince you, Remus..." Sirius brushed cold fingers over Remus's, and slowly pushed them open, coaxing them off of the stake until it fell out of his hand, and rolled away, "...I have nothing more to offer you."
