so i went back and looked to make sure and

shirakumo’s death was a total accident. he was never actually targeted by the stockpile villain. he wasn’t meant to die.

it blasted a building that the kids were under, which caused it to collapse

shirakumo used a cloud to deflect a large falling rock/debris away from the kids and teacher

but the rock he deflected bounced off the could and hit him in the head, presumably killing him

he was never even directly attacked by the villain. he wasn’t targeted.

aizawa, on the other hand…

he was.
