It’s honestly so good. The way the show plays the whole “Selena Gomez is young! These two are old!” is actually genuinely heartwarming and funny. It absolutely could have been a gimmick, but the great actors and funny writing really pull it off. Not to mention the murder

I really dislike Steve Martin (nothing personal or anything, I just don't actually think he's a very good actor or very funny), but I DO like Martin Short and I know they get a ton of great guest stars/cameos. It seems like a cute show. Maybe if I ever get through the backlog of all the other things, or when I'm in the mood for something silly I'll check it out!

I didn't know the older cast (I kinda know Selena cause my younger sibs like her but haven't actually seen her in anything) before OMITB. Absolutely loved Selena here. Martin Short was easy to like because his character is really fun. Steve Martin's character was designed to be someone you'd eventually like but not right away, and i know show preferences are "to each their own" but i hope you give Steve Martin and the show a chance. He's actually really good and at the very least, look at this one:

I feel like he really did this role awesomely and this scene was only shot less than half a day with like 3 takes to get different angles based on creator's interviews. In the scene he was able to show how his character is both nervous about pulling off this patter song and also need to be intense so he gets everyone's undivided attention (to explain, spoiler safe way: this rehearsal performance is a distraction from what they're actually doing and hiding it from a detective and murderer who are in the audience) I really think he did fantastically here. Anyway this is from season 3 where the murder takes place in a theater but every other seasons are focused in their apartment building. Alsooo the trio's dynamic is really good i think they bring the best out of each other. I hope you give them a chance!
