Trying to make a Our Life NF mc made me realize that I was not made for any other season but summer. I make all my mcs with as little clothing as possible. Not because I want them to look sexy or whatever, but because I grew up in a tropical weather country. Layers make me cry.

But at the quiet dead of night, where only his roommates hushed snoring can be heard, unconsciously the memories from that summer creeps in. Flashing moments that tugs at his heart. Sure, he was there too but far too detached to include his figure and voice. Presence blurry at the images, deliberately cut from the picture and only the "friend" he made remains. Hope hammers the solid foundation he built, the defenses that cages poor him in. Laying still, unmoving, vision hyper-focused at every miniscule details the boring dorm ceiling. He can't help but mourn and grieve for a person who's still breathing. Shackled by the very chains he locked himself in. Wincing inwardly at these stupid defense mechanism he designed. A sticky web by which he calls a safety net to bounce back to when he knows that nothing will ever go his way.

Poor, stupid Baxter.

Beaten into a corner.

bullied by his own thinking.

What can a guy do against distance anyways? He has things to do, a goal to chase and a well to come out of. He has no time to actually put in effort on a longtime partner. It's much better to play with situationships and one night stands.

When he met you he didn't really think it'd affect this much. Haven't given the aftermath of his consequences any mind at all. A summer fling, your one call away buddy and your suitor for the season, Baxter Alexander Ward. A dazzling summer lover.

It was fun, so fun playing around and meeting your friends. Little by little he got swept by the waves of the salty ocean and began slowly descending the depths of nostalgic childhood memories. You were the sweltering heat of summer and he was the resigned setting sun in autumn. Oh you were just a blinding sunshine ray aren't you? The chill of the fall don't stand a chance but get chummy with the warmth...

He audibly groaned at how dramatic he's being right now. It's 2 am for fucks sake! His 7 am classes aren't going to attend itself! What is up with him tonight that even melatonin can't help? He turns to his side but returns to his original position again, arms laid out and limbs outstretched. That damned classmate of his had the audacity to ask how his vacation went but alas, he had to keep up appearances due to his unfortunate people pleasing tendencies to smile charmingly and say with a smooth voice " Oh, it went well. Thank you for asking. " even though his heart aches at the mere mention of it. The pain still fresh and the wounds still open.

California girls really are unforgettable. He chuckles defeatedly at his joke. Damn, midnights should be a comfort to everyone but not to people with insomnia and acoidants huh... He should sleep, he really needs to. Else his mind wanders too far in memory lane and remembers more hurtful buried memories. He picks up a pill bottle on his bedside table and pops 3 more. Suddenly oversleeping is a tantalizing choice he won't turn away from.

Good night, sleep tight and may the bed bugs won't bite Baxter.

➥ He closes his eyes, and for a second, he looks like the dog from that one picture with the sunset.

➥ Crying on the inside and outside, from happiness or anxiety? Who knows.

➥ He's overwhelmed as hell but does try to give his input on the "what to do with the baby" thing.

➥ Accepts any decision you make and will be by your side regardless.

➥ He would be an amazing father, honestly. I imagine he would love to play with the baby, dress them up, and make games to help with their development.

➥ Sai is stressed about the whole delivery of the baby. It could go wrong in so many ways, especially since you're on the stone world, and that's all he can think of. He does try to push those thoughts aside and be there for you.

➥ The type of father that feels pregnancy sickness while you're pregnant. He throws up while you're happily eating in peace. He's happy to know that at least he's taking a bit of your pain away.

Ginro.

➥ Oh Kinro is suddenly calling him... is very urgent!

➥ Kinro hits him for you, don't worry, he's forcing him to take responsibility for his tiny "oops."

➥ Very inexperienced father who has no idea what's going on most of the time. He probably thought you were dying when you gave birth. He cried and promised a billion of things he regretted when you told him you were fine.

➥ Does his best to make you comfortable even when he has no idea what to do exactly. Yes, he kinda wanted to run away at the beginning, but in the end, he does care about you a lot. In his own way.

➥ He probably tried to do a sweet gesture at one point but ended up going so bad you just got pissed at him for a week.

➥ If you don't want the baby, don't even try to explain to him how you will not have it. He's just happy about not having to take care of more kids. The ones from the village are more than enough.

Moz.

➥ Yeah, so, suddenly he needs to go do something... very far away from you.

➥ I don't even think you would be the first person he has gotten pregnant. You could be, on the other hand, the only one he actually stays with. Only in a very specific case that only the deeps of his mind know.

➥ He wouldn't be the most amazing father, but I still believe he could be decent enough. As your partner, tho? You will have to nag him to do stuff 24/7.

➥ You will have to teach him EVERYTHING. That man doesn't know how to even hold a baby.

➥ You don't want the baby? Such a good day to be alive for him. Moz has no idea how you will get rid of them but do what you need to do.

Showing my olba mc when they first meet Cove.

As a kid, [redacted] realized they weren't really a girl. So, they asked to be referred with they/them and called anything but their original name. Any nickname worked. Lizzy would call them sibling and their moms, "their child" or sweet nicknames. The teacher and kids at school would call them by their family name: Oneill.

I love calling them [redacted] or unknown. It is just funny to me.

They don't become friends with Cove until adulthood, so they're just neighbors who are forced to hang out together because of their parents.

Unknown has tan skin like Derek! I was just lazy with the coloring. Their hair is wavy and messy. As kids, their mommy would brush it and try to make it look presentable, but [redacted] was always running around and playing on the beach, which made their hair look wild and wet more times than not.

a/n. I got too carried away, so now Kinro and Ginro have a backstory that is 100% canon to me now. Hope you enjoy it even if it's not the best or exactly what you asked for!

Winter.

Warnings: Mention of death.

Kinro has always hated winter.

He hated the snow that reached his knees or how its whiteness blinded him. He detested the horrendous wind that freezed his ears along with his fingertips and the cold mornings that mercilessly froze his entire body, making him feel like a dead corpse who refused to die.

He despised the lack of food that winter brought.

He must’ve been only six and a half years old when he lost his parents to the merciless cold. Ginro could barely stand on his own.

Kinro remembers his brother's cries, his young brain not understanding why the villagers wouldn't let him near their mother; he remembers seeing the adults cover his father's bluish skin from his sight; he remembers one of the elders stroking his mother's hair as if he could soothe her soul.

He recalls Ginro letting go of his hand to approach their mother again, feeling a lump in his throat as someone took the blond boy in their arms. He tried to hold back his tears.

Kinro remembers losing a childhood that was just beginning.

Kinro also remembers the first time winter became bearable. When the villagers' homes were warmed by one of the strange creations Senku made. He remembers approaching the younger children at night to give them extra blankets and watching them sleep peacefully near the warmth.

That was the first winter he didn't stay up until morning trying to comfort children who couldn't sleep because of the cold or watch them shiver at night.

Kinro remembers discovering how fun sliding on the snow could be for the first time. He can picture watching his brother having fun and the elders drinking hot chocolate while laughing with them.

He remembers the first time a snowball hit him in the face.

The children usually didn't bother him much because he always seemed busy or because he had a threatening expression, but you just laughed as you watched the snow slide down his face.

He memorized how your fingers felt against his skin as you wiped away the snow, laughing. Kinro imagines his expression was funny.

Kinro remembers drinking hot chocolate with you, your shoulders and knees bumping together, and your voice tickling him as you whispered like you were exchanging secrets.

His heart pounded, and even though he knew he wasn't sick, after a humiliating conversation with Gen, he felt like he was going to throw up his heart into the white ground covering it with the pure red of his blood.

He remembers when winter became convenient, when using lame excuses to be near you became second nature, and when his cheeks were red from the cold and totally not because you smiled at him while passing by.

Kinro has memorized the warmth of your lips when you shared your first kiss under a tree; he recalls the shared laughter when you both tripped over the trunk, how the snow fell on top of you, covering you both from head to toe.

It was unfair, really.

The cold was part of your story; the snow recounted your moments together. You had filled every bad memory with ten good ones.

Winter was warm when you were with him.

How unfair of you to make him love it.

This ended up being longer than I expected. I enjoyed writing this even if the reader became like a minor character. I was more interested in writing on Kinro's perspective. (I blame rewatching the episode about food shortages for this.)
