having a lot of thoughts about a career day type situation at izumi’s school and she begs both her dads to come, and like, they can’t say no to her so they go. and all the other parents go up and talk about what they do for a living but everyone the whole time is like um. the freaking firelord and his genius husband are here. like. wtf.

and then it’s their turn and izumi introduces them and sokka, who you’d think might be a bit nervous because public speaking isn’t really his Thing, does amazing, and all the little kids are enthralled hearing about all his inventions and the cool shit he gets up to every day, and he infodumps like crazy but the kids eat it right up. like to them (and they are 100% correct for this), he is the coolest guy on the planet

and then zuko goes, and you’d think he’d be fine. he gives speeches all the time. he argues with councilmen and ambassadors on a daily basis and is highly respected. but something about the twenty 5 year old’s staring expectantly up at him completely rattles him, and he just heard sokka going on about all his inventions, and he gets all flustered and somehow talks about idk taxes or something for like five minutes straight, and the kids are like wow the firelord is the most boring person alive
