I'm really interested in teaware made with clay sourced near to where I live. There's so many lesser known clay varieties, it would be interesting to see how these interact with tea. I haven't found much from my state, but there's a potter named Mark Mohler who makes teaware from Georgia (Lizella) clay. Here's a pot from his website. Each pot has a unique face under the lid.
Last week, I ordered an unglazed gaiwan he made. Once it arrives you'll be seeing a lot of it.

Hot chocolate with TEA!?!? Yes.
I just reblogged a post that reminded me that not only is hot chocolate tea a thing - but it’s a great way to flavor plain hot chocolate!
Here’s my recipe: - ½ mug heated milk - ½ mug appropriate tea temp water - *for richer flavor, use 2/3 mug milk and 1/3 mug water - 1 teabag (black, herbal, and rooibos teas work best) - hot chocolate mix - *depending on how sweet you like it, you may want to add sugar or even honey
First brew your chosen tea STRONG, it has to compete with chocolate. I usually double or triple my brew time as long as the tea doesn’t suffer. While that’s brewing, heat your milk and add your plain hot chocolate - remember you want the tea to be done brewing at the same time as you’re mixing the hot chocolate. Remove the bag and slowly combine the tea and hot chocolate.
Recommended teas: Earl grey Vanilla Raspberry Red velvet Chocolate strawberry Mint/peppermint Almond
But consider: chai tea hot chocolate
There are tea bags that are made to look like a goldfish swimming in your mug.
Tea and Eating Disorders
We love seeing people appreciate tea, but it’s always sad when we see pro-ana or advocating for other eating disorders, latching onto tea. Tea is great and it can sometimes stave off appetite temporarily in cases where you need to wait before eating, but it’s not a good thing when you’re not eating enough to maintain essential body functions and you skip meals and replace them with tea.
We want everyone to love their body as-is and be healthy.
We want everyone to feel in control of their life so they don’t need to turn to an ED to grasp desperately at something they have control over.
We want people to pay attention to how their tea tastes and enjoy drinking it, in part so that they can pay attention to how all their food and drink tastes, and enjoy eating and drinking all around.
We want to nudge people away from counting calories and thinking of nutrition in terms of math and numbers, and encourage people to listen to their bodies and eat when they’re hungry, and stop eating when they’re full.
Our society glorifies thinness to unhealthy degrees, and we also send all sorts of unhealthy messages encouraging people to count calories, and to disregard natural signals of hunger and fullness, and it is very easy for people to get sucked into the ways of thinking and patterns characteristic of eating disorders.
We want to be here too if people want to talk about these things. We care about all of you, both the people who follow us and the random people who post in the tea tag. We want to help you if there is any way we can!

Happy Friday the 13th! I am celebrating with a first-time watch of Hocus Pocus! Can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about. 🖤🎃 #tea #teatime #mug #cauldron #cauldronmug #hocuspocus #fridaythe13th #october #pumpkins #insteagram #teastagram #firsttimeviewing #witches #salem
Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite movies! Enjoy!
I’ve been looking for a good jar to keep my tea in as the boxes take up a lot of space but they’re so expensive! So today I took matters into my own hands and just played with an old, washed honey jar and voilá! I now have somewhere to keep my tea. #tea #lgbtqia #pride #diy
if you store tea in a glass jar make sure to keep it in a cupboard or away from light. light does cause tea to degrade and lose flavor over time, which is why the best tea shops usually store it in tins and why it is often sold in opaque metal tins or packaged in opaque boxes.
if you can locate tea enthusiasts who live near you, a lot of them are literally overflowing with old tea tins and will probably be glad to give some away…ask around! or buy tea in a tin and then reuse it!
