Summer Nail Art Waves Tutorial from MissJenFABULOUS
This is an easy design that I got from my favorite NailArt You Tuber Miss Jen Fabulous - you can check out the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaXU7XvCN88&list=PL2BF6E1304B0F6E0E&index=10
Pastel Sponging with White Stripes
This was a fun design using striping tape and sponging application of multiple pastel colors.
Glitter NailArt
This was just me playing around with designs and patters using black, turquoise and gold. It’s like coloring for nail artists!
Interlocking Nail Art
Interlocking Nail Art is fun and super easy. I used 2 nail colors and 1 dotting tool to create this optical illusion!
Galaxy Nails
I know I’ve been derelict in updating the tumblr - but rest assured my nail art creations have continued. I’ll be posted the back log over the next few weeks starting today with 2 different takes on Galaxy Nails. I love this design, it’s fun to create and such a little work of art on each finger.
Happiness NailArt - 31DC2015 Day 4
Day 4 was a happiness theme, I did some simple blue sky with puffy white clouds and of course some cheeky smiley faces to make me smile.
Sugar Spun NailArt - #31DC2015 Day 1
I am loosely participating in the Crumpet's Nail Tarts 31 Day Challenge for January. While I won't be doing a different manicure for everyday - I WILL use the challenge to decide what manicures to do whenever I change my designs.
Day 1 was "Follow a Tutorial" - I decided to try a technique I've seen lots of places but had not given a shot yet - Sugar Spun Nails. It's a simple technique, you let a small amount of polish dry to the point of being gloopy and then using a toothpick pull the polish over your already painted nails (use a dark base color for light lines). I really loved the look & the 3D effect it had IRL.
Candy Cane Nails
I did a take on candy canes for my Christmas Nails. Using Red & White polka dots with an accent nails of watermarbled red & white designs.
Purple Ombre
I was lucky enough to head to my HS Alma Mater Emma Willard School to see the 100th performance of Revels, a Christmas play put on by the Senior Class every year. It was so much fun to see some old friends, watch the play & see who was wearing my costume/playing my part!
I matched the purple ombre to my plum colored dress for the occasion.
Blue Waterfall Nails
My husband requested waterfall nails - I went with this turquoise on blues color scheme. One of my favorite quick nail designs.
Penguins NailArt
I had fun creating these cue penguins for a holiday/winter nail art design. 3 colors & a couple of dotting tools later - they were ready to go.
They were each named by some FB friends as follows:
Thumb - Snickerdoodle
Index Gladys
Middle Peebo
Ring Vero
Pinky Gunther
NailSnaps have launched!
NailSnaps is a great new nail wraps company & app that allows you to make nail wraps out of YOUR photos & images!
I backed this project on Kickstarter and it is now available on iPhones via the App Store. This nail design is NOT a NailSnaps wrap, but just the galaxy nails I had on when this cute thank you card came from the company.
Check out NailSnaps: http://nailsnaps.com/ or just search NailSnaps on your apple device!
Gold & Burgundy with Star Stencil
I know it's been a while since I have posted. Life has gotten in the way of my NailArt - but I realized recently that I have been using NailArt as a type of creative therapy. A place where I can quiet my mind & focus on something that brings me only joy.
So I'll be making it a higher priority moving forward so I can keep this joy in my life. These nails start with a gold base and the burgundy stars were added using these super cool nail stencils from Neverland Lacquers. They were super easy to use and turned out great!
November #31Nails2014 Challenge - Day 5 Leaves NailArt
I have decided to take part in the November 2014 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. But rather than killing myself like I did in September, I will simply use the themes as a guide for whenever I do decide to change my nails.
Day 5 is a "Leaves" theme. I started with a dark green base coat & added the gold leaf leaves using the Baroque Baby Scratch Nail Wraps. Added a top coat & was good to go. I love combined color & nail wraps - gives a clean but personalized look. Give it a try!
November #31Nails2014 Challenge - Day 3 Mustache NailArt
I have decided to take part in the November 2014 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. But rather than killing myself like I did in September, I will simply use the themes as a guide for whenever I do decide to change my nails.
Day 3 has the tried & true MOVEMBER theme - aka "Mustache" nails. I use a pink background with white polka dots and then drew on the mustaches by hand in black. This pink color actually glows in the dark & was a cool effect as well.
November #31Nails2014 Challenge - Day 2 Daylight NailArt
I have decided to take part in the November 2014 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. But rather than killing myself like I did in September, I will simply use the themes as a guide for whenever I do decide to change my nails.
Day 2 has Daylight as the theme so I went with a sunny sky with clouds and of course a bright sun for this manicure. Clouds and sun were created using dotting tools.
