instead of rick riordan inserting his us-centric beliefs into the pjo books to try to explain why the greek gods would abandon greece and go to the us (i.e. calling the us the “flame of the west” as he did in the books), he could’ve made it so that the greek gods made a camp half-blood in every country in the world, but they still live in greece because that’s their home. with this, the books would still mostly take place in the us because, ultimately, there was no point in adding that part. the gods didn’t have to abandon their home to make the series work.
