About the Trevor fic thing : sadly, when the OG happened, a lot of authors added those notes in their fics.

Some deleted their work which okay. Some kept their works up on ao3 and added an awful long note saying they hated Quinn now. Like... what ? Some notes just vanished when they noticed people didn't care about social justice and war or whatever.

Or the famous "I keep the fic up because I know Quinn would hate to be in love with a man". I got SO angry.

Fun fact, I thought Josh Norris was Trevor for a loooong time. I tried to find the Trevor/Quinn photo in bed when it actually was Josh and Quinn.

Trevor is my ADHD child, I love him. He is also so little brother coded. Imagine Quinn with an hyperactive kid running around at 7 at the Lake House : ☕️🫩 🔪

it is very interesting seeing people come back around to quinn. either they followed him the whole time but just from a far or they got their fill of internet outrage and decided to come back. either way.. whatever.

[re: the olympics thing, i ultimately do not think that them going to the white house was as big of a political statement as everyone else thinks. i legitimately think they would've gone for any president, and i don't think being in the presence of the president means you support them. no, jack hughes was not sitting in the oval office saying 'sure, you should go b*mb iran' like people were saying. what even.]

i just pulled 3x josh norris cards in a row, which is extremely funny to me. #that photo is ingrained in my brain along with the tzqh lap sitting photo. those boys better have good locks on their phones because who knows what else is on there lol.

i love the idea that quinn is soooo annoyed by trevor because he's louder than both his brothers combined, but at the end of the day, i know he has a soft spot for him. it's one of those 'well i can call him annoying but you're not allowed to" type of things i think.

someone left me a comment that i have not stopped thinking about: "the mortifying ordeal of realising you lowkey like the most annoying guy in the world." <- that's quinn and trevor 100%!

On an adjacent topic of being a hockey player and not used to being pushed around 👀 - been stuck on the Foligno bros basically adopting Quinn though and suddenly the big brother has big brothers. And they're bigger and older and swing on anyone who tries something on the ice and oh. As an older sibling, that must be such a nice feeling.

To have someone who you go to with a problem and they just say "I'll handle it." Or not even needing to go to them because they're already dealing with it.

The Foligno Bros probably: "we've had Quinn for a day and a half but if anything happened to him we would kill everyone in this locker room and then ourselves."

And making aggressive I'm watching you gestures at Brock, Matt, and Kirill.

ohhhh yeah the relief of not having to be the one responsible, the one who handles everything!! but at the same time probably so unsettling on some level. like it's muscle memory to handle things himself, and so when someone swoops in to take responsibility instead it's like.... what does he even do with himself. he needs a task!! he needs to be being useful!!! and it's so hard to let go of that and ""let""" himself be taken care of for once

all about jj mccarthy and the hughes brothers (and, specifically, jj’s love of quinn) (combining two of my interests tee hee)

who is jj mccarthy? jj mccarthy is a 23 yo quarterback that plays in the nfl for the minnesota vikings. he was drafted by the vikings in 2024, but he suffered a season ending knee injury in the 2024 preseason, so he did not start in an nfl game until the 2025 nfl season. before the nfl, jj played for the wolverines at the university of michigan. he played for michigan from 2021 - 2023 and won the college football national championship in 2023. fun fact: jj played hockey until he was a freshman in highschool, when he had to choose between football and hockey. he has a wife (katya) and a son (rome). jj is a sweetie pie and he’s known for having a very cheerful attitude.

how did they meet? you may have already noticed, but jj and luke were both at the university of michigan from 2021 - 2023! I haven’t been able to find much, but I do know that is where they met and became friends (so jj was luke’s friend first 😂).

there really isn’t much to talk about until quinn is traded to the wild and jj starts tweeting about him NON-STOP (only after the nfl season ended bc he deletes most social media during the season) and i mean it 😭😭

these are just the tweets that directly mention quinn… (when I tell you almost EVERY tweet is about quinn, I am not joking) jj was tweeting during the playoff games and cheering for the wild!! the last tweet was actually posted during the crazy game 1 vs dallas.

jj also attended two wild playoff games! one on april 22nd (where he reserved a box for the entire vikings team!!) and another on may 9th (where he sat with the hughes family).

I am upset that my first impression of Trevor Zegras was from a fanfiction where the author edited their story and said they no longer supported Trevor for what he said on Twitter. (I have no idea what) It was a Quinn-centric story and Trevor was just in one chapter so I was like "ok whatever". I just kept in mind I shouldn't like him for a reason I didn't even know.

I didn't try to find more about him until one day I finally just looked him up because I was curious about him.

So yeah, folks, do not judge people from some random writer on the Internet. You will always find someone who dislike a hockey player because of his team/his religion/politics/TRADES/something he said when he was 8.

Ziggy deserves love too. 😒

the first thing that pops up is chipotle so for some reason my main thought was "dang, they hate chipotle that much??"

i will say, i always immediately exit a fic if someone goes on a long diatribe in the notes about why they don't support a player / don't support a player anymore. like you clearly still want the attention or something and that's why you're living your fic up but trying to play the moral olympics.

(i have a lot of thoughts on people's moral posturing online but i will keep those to myself for now haha)

but yeah, at the end of the day people are allowed to draw their lines wherever they need but you should always draw your own instead of looking to others. everyone is biased and has their own viewpoints and you should form your own.

i do have to chuckle because my immediate perception of trevor was that he was sooooo annoying (derogatory) and then one day my brain shifted and it became he's soooo annoying (affectionate). acquired taste maybe? who knows. but i've thoroughly enjoyed learning more about him.

and he's such a cutie 🥰
