remember the white dress i wore all through that film? george came up to me the first day of filming, took one look at the dress and said: “you can’t wear a bra under that dress.”

“ok, i’ll bite,” i said. “why?” and he said: “because… there’s no underwear in space.”

he said it with such conviction. like he had been to space and looked around and he didn’t see any bras or panties anywhere.

he explained. “you go into space and you become weightless. then your body expands but your bra doesn’t, so you get strangled by your own underwear.”

i think that this would make for a fantastic obituary. i tell my younger friends that no matter how i go, i want it reported that i drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.

DAMN IT!!! She was 60! How come we live in a world where evil people seem to live forever and people like Carrie Fisher die so young. I’m literally sitting here shaking. I haven’t even begun to process the news and can’t imagine what her friends and family are going through. As a little girl Princess Leia was my hero. I had never seen a female character on the screen that was so strong and fearless. As an adult Carrie Fisher was my hero for the exact same reasons. She went through so much in her life and made it through stronger. She will be greatly missed.

Spoiler free Rogue One Post

Can any film nerds please geek out with me for a second over this movie! I am in awe. The story is great but where the movie really shines is in the CGI. The original film completely turned the entertainment industry upside down. It changed not only the way we shoot special effects but the scope of what is possible to show on the screen. I think this movie is poised to do the same thing. As a former film student, I am stunned. It’s not perfect yet, but the implications of how this technology could be used in the future are mind blowing. PM me guys about anything in this movie. I am just sitting here freaking out. 

I will do a detailed review of the movie once I see it for the second time. I need to take notes because there is so much I have to say.

albus severus potter, you were named after two men who taught me how difficult it is to distinguish between good and evil, because every human being has the capacity for both inside themselves. i spent my life idolizing one and vilifying the other, but it wasn’t until i was older that i realized the enormity of the choices they were forced to make and the guilt and regret they carried with them their whole lives. they were both like me, ambitious and stubborn and lost, but they devoted their whole lives to protecting me, and i’ll forever be grateful for that. without them, you would never have been born, and if there’s one thing i want you to remember, it’s that you are always capable of selflessness and bravery, even when it seems impossible, because they were. they were not perfect people, but they were stronger than i ever knew, and they taught me that the choices you make, however small, however misguided, matter. they matter after you’re gone. they matter to the world you want to change, and making the right choice after you’ve made the wrong one, hard as it is, is how we grow. so remember that. be brave, albus severus. you don’t have to be a gryffindor to know what that means.
