So I had two big Harry Potter phases in my life. Both of which, obviously, were before I knew JKR was a transphobe. And it was not a problem to stop engaging in the series or anything.

My problem is, I still have merch and a lot of the books. I never wear my HP shirts out anymore, as I don't want anyone to think I support it. I occasionally use my HP backpack, but only when I'm just packing something so it'll only go to my car and to a hotel room. I never wear it out for more than 5 minutes.

But the books and other merch have been collecting dust in my room for years and I don't know what to do. I could sell them, but I don't really want to encourage people to get into the series. But it feels wasteful to just throw it all out.

tbh i recommend selling any first editions people have. anyone who buys those is definitely NOT an ally, so youre taking money away from them whilst also gaining money for yourself (like retributions, in a way, except definitely way less than we deserve. small wins) and getting rid of hp stuff.
