I'm TELLING YOU, in Tangled AUs, Jinu fits Rapunzel better than Rumi does!!
(I will not stand for Celine-is-Mother-Gothel slander...that's a huge reason I push the "Gwi-Ma is Mother Gothel and Jinu is Rapunzel" narrative)
I thoroughly agree! Celine played a big part in Rumi’s shame, but it was never intentional. She genuinely loved her and would never try to manipulate her.
Gwi-ma, on the other hand, very much enjoys manipulating and shaming Jinu. Like Rapunzel, he’s kept isolated, imprisoned, and a part of him is used as a tool for his captor (his voice/her hair). You could even argue that both were stolen from their families.
Besides, if someone is going to act as a bodyguard and guide the other through the world, it’s going to be Rumi for Jinu. It easily fits, as Jinu wouldn’t know how to navigate through the modern world on his own. Plus, you know that scene where Rapunzel touches grass for the first time? I can easily see the same emotion showing with Jinu seeing it again for the first time in centuries.
Also Derpy and/or Sussie as Pastel. That is all.
