tumblr then vs now:

me at 15/16 back in 2011 making this blog: oh, my irl friends are on here so tumblr will be fun. also tumblr seems cool bc everyone likes the bands i do and harry potter, like me. i won't be called emo! i'll make friends with people from overseas! how awesome! and maybe make friends with other aussies from either nsw or other states!

me, currently at almost 23 in 2018, tired and worn down from close to a decade of tumblr trend etc flashbacks: most of my fave blogs are gone. my irl friends who either showed me tumblr or encouraged me to join tumblr bc they had accounts on here, have mostly deactivated or haven't posted for like 4 years or more to let their blogs die, and are living their lives outside of the internet. more than half of my tumblr friends or original followers have deactivated and escaped. others haven’t updated in years. most of the people who are still here, and have been on here the same length of time as me; basically run their blogs solely off queues, so they’re barely ever online anymore. this site and my blog are arid wastelands. what's my goal? whomst is my audience? what the actual fuck is my blog? does my blog even count as a blog if i keep reblogging my old posts from my archive? what, and who, am i? why the actual fuck am i still here? why the fuck am i so weirdly fucking attached to this blog and website? when will i leave? will i ever fucking leave and escape the clutches of this godforsaken site? release me. please. either give me death or the sweet release of freedom from this blue goddamn motherfucking hellsite.
