A highlight in the history of uninvited cats on stage has to be the premiere of Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia:
... during the finale, a cat arrived, and mingled with the performers. [Figaro] chased it from one side, it returned from the other side to throw itself at the legs of [Bartolo]. ... the audience imitated its meows and encouraged it to continue its improvised role.
Alexis Jacob Azevedo: G. Rossini, sa vie et ses oeuvres (1864)

absolutely obsessed with the dynamic between Matt and Frank it's gotta be one of my favorite character dynamics of all time. Frank kills people as a hobby and Matt has never killed in his life. they can't have a conversation without cursing each other out. they trust each other enough to hold one another as they jump off a building. they physically fight more often than not. Frank has seen Matt's bare ass. they're both in love with the same woman who respects herself too much to hook up with either one of them. Matt is a Catholic who believes every soul can be saved except for his own and Frank doesn't think either of theirs needs to be. can anybody hear me is this thing on
the theme of spiderman: brand new day being about non romantic love!! the ongoing throughline being that peter needs to not be so alone, that he needs friends. the way jean's story was about her sister. the way frank cried for peter, was soft with him like that, apologised like that because he cared about peter. the way mj's boyfriend doesn't matter at all because what matters is that she's ned's friend. the way the first person who remembered peter was his best friend, his oldest friend because of their special handshake. the way peter being bruce's friend was enough to snap him back from being hulk. the way peter being jean's friend so that she's not so alone is the entire reason we have an ending as happy as we do.
the way these non-romantic relationships are so important to the story.
not only that, but the way non-romantic can be enough to save someone

happy anniversary to whatever is going on in this show
“I wanted to make sure I held him. And that he felt me there as somebody who really does, not only value him as a colleague, but as, probably, a best friend. The line that gets me…I asked Scott to put the line about the emergency contact in there. I have a friend who, whenever I fill out the forms with my kids and it’s like ‘you need an emergency contact’, I have a close friend who I always end up putting on there who I know gets shit done. He’s my guy. So I just imagined Robby and Abbot had that kind of flavor to their relationship.”
-Shawn Hatosy on the season 2 finale goodbye between Robby and Abbot
I'm currently having a tough, draining, week as a cook at a restaurant. So, as a coping mechanism, I'm imagining them as fellow blue-collar workers in an alternate universe.
Maybe co-workers in a run-down, small-town diner. A crab boat. A trucking mechanic's shop. A lumberyard. 😌
I have my theories
