know that I am not telling you

so that I can hear it roll off your tongue in a sweet poetic verse

I am telling you because

life passes us by without giving a fuck if we miss the mark

To sit here and prevent myself from diving into you

stains my future with regret and unfulfilled potential

If I decided to tell you, “I love you”, I am doing so because

You are worth finding what burns in my heart

I am the only one capable of allowing myself to jump

Cuz when I do...

Someday I’ll decide to tell you, “I love you”

and...I wouldn’t be saying it in hopes that your heart beats the same way
