āSeventeen are flopsā
I often see this sentiment thrown around on stan twitter towards Seventeen and I wanted to rant about how wrong that is.
Yes, Seventeen usually has low MV views. So what? MV views donāt determine a groups success and they donāt mean jack shit in Korea. Seventeen doesnāt have as big of a international fandom compared to other groups, most carats are from Korea (and Japan), which is probably the reason why MV views are so low because YouTube views donāt mean anything in Korea.
So please stop pressuring Carats to stream MVs for hours, thatās pointless and completely unhealthy mentality. The fact that I see some of yāall guilt tripping Carats by saying Seventeen is going to disband soon (they arenāt) if they donāt stream is manipulative asf. A lot of Carats have lives outside of kpop and we might not have time to constantly stream and thatās okay! Seventeen themselves told us they want us to continue living and focus on whatās important.
Newsflash: MV views arenāt important!
So stop acting like it is. Clearly Seventeen doesnāt need them because theyāre still in the top 3 most successful boy groups. Seventeen sold over 900k albums for Ode without a repackage and thereās no doubt theyāre going to sell over 1 million this comeback. So to call Seventeen flops or Carats lazy is so wrong and so not true.
Seventeen are a successful group and theyāre successful without Youtube views. Seventeen always does well with sales and thatās what matters most. They didnāt win Album Of The Year last year for nothing, clearly people in Korea know how successful they are but international fans still seem to think Seventeen are struggling. WHEN THEYRE NOT!!!
Lastly, stop comparing Seventeen/Carats to other groups/fandoms. What works for other groups doesnāt necessarily mean itāll work for us. Stop pressuring, manipulating and making Carats feel bad for not streaming. Please go get a life!
