Tony: Steph ...
Stephen: Yes, darling?
Tony: Did you break the universe again?
[camera pans out to show the universe around them, broken]
Stephen: No.
Tony: Really? Because it kind of looks like you did.
Stephen: And who do you believe more, Tony? Your own eyes or me?
Another thing I love about ironstrange is neither of them were really young when they started superheroing. They weren't old, but god, imagine putting your body through that at 38. But Tony and Stephen were both pushing 40 when they looked around and said "well I guess no one else is gonna fix this shit" and I respect that
Stephen: I have a ton of followers.
Peter: On what app?
Stephen: App? I'm the leader of a cult.
Stephen: *brings home America Chavez* TONY! WE HAVE A NEW KID!
Tony: ... You used to hate when I did this.
i hate two factor authentication i hate needing my phone to use my computer i hate that the computer has become a secondary piece of hardware that is seen as a peripheral to a phone in the eyes of society i don’t want to log into anything with my phone i should never ever need an app to do anything on my computer and i should be able to have my phone locked in a safe that i’ve dumped into the ocean and still be able to use every single feature of my computer unabated
Happy birthday to AO3 🎂🎉
being married to an elf would suck bc they’d just be like “i wrote a short ballad on the subject of our love. would you like to hear it?” *proceeds to sing for the next 12 hours without pause because that’s what’s considered brief by elf standards* and being married to a dwarf would suck bc they’d be like *spends 36 hours carving a pattern into a single face of a hammer they’re working on because you “can’t rush art” and forgets that you even exist until you’re forced to come down and persuade them to return to the surface to take a nap before they collapse of exhaustion* so you really can’t win
you’re too smart to be following me

I think the seasonal depression is going to be brutally bad this year and that we all gotta keep remaining each other it’s going on otherwise we’ll all think it’s our own fault
Okay, thank you, I needed this bc I already forgot
include physically disabled people in your body positivity.
prosthetics, mobility aids, hearing aids, etc. are often extensions of our body to us. not accessories.
these things are highly stigmatized and cause people to think it's okay for them to invade our privacy, boundaries, and bodies.
Had a friend once try to yank off my prosthetic arm to prove a point. Don’t do that folks.
That's like someone trying to chop one's arm off to prove a point. Like. That's ground for an assault/attempted assault lawsuit? What sort of "friend" is this, bitte?
Ok super late yet again 😂 but I feel like this is an important topic and I’m super happy that someone else found this just as f*cked up.
Firstly, being disabled, both physically and mentally, can often make people feel like you are incredibly alone. No one else around me has one hand or prosthetics and so the problems I had felt like they were non-existent. Maybe I was gaslighting myself, I honestly don’t know.
The second thing is it felt like I would have been blowing things out of proportion if I had shown any outrage at the time. To help people relax around me I often make jokes about my hand or prosthetic. Ya know, hang my arm up with the coats or hi five someone with my stump super enthusiastically. This in turn made my disability a bit of a joke in exchange for acceptance. That person, in their eyes, was making a joke and I had encouraged that. So if I spun around and yelled at them it would undo all my work.
It truly upsets me when disability is not included in social justice matters as it’s a very insidious silence. You see it in body positivity the clearest. It robs disabled people of their voices or worse, the ability to break out of their bubble of isolation. It robs them of the opportunity to learn from others in their community, self-actualize and reject the need to prostrate themselves with comedy to be accepted by able communities.
I hope my story wasn’t too sad. Because this comment and the people responding give me the biggest smile and a dollop of hope. Honestly @darthlenaplant thank you for commenting. I sometimes use this response to remind myself that I shouldn’t minimize my problems. I wish you a very wonderful week and a little hand hi-five 🦾👋
Thank you. Hand high-five to you as well! Your prosthetic is super cool (I don't need to see it to just *know* this 😘)
I mean. I just use pure logic with this (or whatever that is called), in the way that a prosthetic limb is STILL a limb. Being A PART OF THIS PERSON. Therefore, "destroying" or "damaging" it is akin to an "injury".
Language matters, but if we can talk about so-called "heartless" machines "dying" (f.e. "my car/phone/device died last week") then a prosthetic limb "breaking" is "breaking" in the same way a fleshy limb "breaks". ("I broke my left leg two weeks ago" can apply to a wheel of a wheelchair just as much as a fleshy leg imho.)
I also don't think it's right to make oneself the butt of the joke exchange for acceptance. Sure, no one says you can't laugh about yourself, but this should happen on YOUR terms! It also needs to be balanced, it can't just be that it's always the same odd marginalized person/group that's being laughed about, it needs to be equal across the group imo.
#CisWithTheT Trends as Thousands Decide to Denounce Transphobia
Into reports of the sudden and wonderful blossoming of the #CisWithTheT twitter hashtag in Britain.
Some say it was a toxic BBC article spreading TERF lies that created the uproar, while others point to the Dave Chappelle tragedy.
Regardless, suddenly a lot of cis people had had enough of the transphobia and came out in strong support of trans people.
Here are a few of the tweets:
@SMichaelsonn: Cis lesbian here; I am not threatened by trans women using female spaces (where they belong) or using the term ‘lesbian’. What I /am/ threatened by is people constantly weaponising me against my trans sisters and policing gender non-conformity.
@SpillerOfTea #CisWithTheT currently trending at Number 4 in the United Kingdom. Because, as nearly every poll shows (except the ones conducted amongst 80 hand-picked transphobes), the majority of cis women support trans inclusivity, but are silenced by a minority of hateful bigots.
@KateHeywood8 I’m a CIS woman and am furious on an almost daily basis by the increasingly absurd actions of the toilet obsessives. Trans women are most definitely welcome to use the same spaces as me. Love to our trans sisters #CisWithTheT
@hotmessica__ I’m a cishet woman and I’m genuinely terrified of the GCs [gender critical feminists] who try to reduce my womanhood to just my genitals and organs. I’ve been questioned in a toilet once because I’m tall, broad shouldered and dress tomboyish. GC ideology is a threat to all people #CisWithTheT
Link to open letter here!
@rhipratchett: Hate can not be allowed to win. Be better humans. Choose kindness, understanding and inclusion. I stand with the trans community today and always. #CisWithTheT
@AffleckEmma: I am a cis lesbian and I am so sick of seeing people who normally don’t give a damn about lesbian rights (and who are outright homophobes) tweeting #IStandWithLesbians because they want to claim all trans people are predators. Your bigotry is not progressive. #CisWithTheT
@23rdspiral: I’m a 40yr old cis woman. Until last year I had an amazing elderly relative who transitioned when I was a teen. It never occurred to me she was anything other than herself. I miss her. Trans women are women. GCs don’t speak for me their ‘feminism’ is not feminism. #CisWithTheT
It seems good cis people have had enough of the constant barrage of transphobic falsehoods produced by trans-exclusionary radical feminists and right wing extremists. Good people see and feel the suffering this propaganda is causing among trans people. Many of them also understand that this is a repeat of the homophobic rhetoric of yesterday.
Keep up the good work, cis allies. This is helping!
