he's so fucking funny, like he was truly badly injured. yet he allowed katara to full-body smash into him, did a whole spinny hug and several seconds long kiss before crashing out about the pain lmao. he knows if he'd shown any signs of injury before the hug, katara wouldn't have done all that, but he wanted it despite the hurt it would cause.

I love that Aang’s adult character design incorporates so much of water tribe culture and attire into it

The bluish gray sleeves he wears on his forearms aren’t something we’ve seen on him before, but we do see such attire on water tribe characters like his daughter Kya, or Katara and avatar Korra!

His air nomad necklace (based on threngwas which are tibetan Buddhist prayer beads) incorporates water tribe beads instead of the brown ones we saw in the ATLA cartoon. This is the most culturally significant item he wears belonging to his people and he’s altered it to include Katara and her culture :)

Appa’s saddle as well as Aang’s glider both incorporate blue in their designs as well!

And of course, he’s shown wearing furs! He may be the last airbender and he also may be the avatar, but he’s master Katara’s lover boy first!! 🥹💙💛

Y’all they’re complaining about the blue not being obvious enough since Aang already has tattoos similar in color lmao. My brother in Christ, Aang is representing Water Tribe culture in his character design far more than Katara is representing Air Nomad culture. The things Aang is wearing are actually culturally relevant to the WT, whereas the things Katara wears are not culturally relevant at all to Air Nomads aside from color.

Why does or should Aang wear even MORE of the WT attire? Why is it a bad thing he’s still primarily wearing Air Nomad clothing? 🤨 he’s the last damn airbender in the world. Why does Aang have to strip his entire culture away for the fandom to actually be satisfied? Y’all are xenophobic. And racist.

Let’s not get it twisted: it’s very sweet of him to wear these things but Aang doesn’t have to do this. And there’s no way Katara asked him to. And there’s also no fucking way she would be happy with him just Not wearing Air Nomad attire for her.
