summary: Logan conducts an experiment, and it involves frosting
if anyone would have asked Logan how he got where he was he’d say he’d have no idea. But he did, of course he did. He was Logic after all. He, well admittedly he didn’t know everything, but he knew quiet a lot.
So when Remus barged into his room asking how much electricity it’d take to restart a mouse’s heart verses a Deer’s heart Logan was quite intrigued, and agreed to help Remus since Remus had been unsuccessful with his own attempts.
Then Remus coming to Logan with strange idea for experiments became a more common occurrence, He’d more often not burst in at odd hours with experiment ideas, and Logan almost always went to do them with him.
Which was why he was currently helping Remus cut up a cow to see how much space was inside the ribs and to get it’s stomach acid to compare it with that of other creatures. These little experiments often took hours to days, and the others where finally starting to notice.
Then Remus’s birthday started to approach and Virgil banged on the door at two am. “Logan I don’t know the fuck you’re doing but the smell is giving me a headache”
Logan looks up “ah, apologies I’ll try to keep the smell from getting in the hall”
“what are you even making Logan? it’s two am and you ALWAYS preach about sleeping well.” Virgil yawns.
“I’m busy, I’ll finish up shortly” Logan said deep in concentration.
Virgil walks out and Logan keeps working.
Remus barges in at 5am “Specs! I have an idea- why are you awake already?”
Logan looks up “good morning Remus, please keep talking, what’s your idea?”
“um no! it smells weird in here, nice weird but weird. What are you doing right now?” Remus asks looking over Logan’s shoulder.
“I’m trying to make synthetic deodorant for you, since the real thing is not good for you, I am trying to make something that is safe for consumption and still tastes good” Logan explains.
“really?! You’d do that for me?” Remus says looking at the samples.
Logan hands three to him “yes, could you try these and tell me which is best and how it could be improved?”
Remus nods eagerly and downs them “the second! it needs to be a bit stronger but it’s pretty close at it is!”
Logan nods and starts working again “thank you for your feedback, now your new idea, what is it?”
Logan works while Remus tells him his very gory idea for an experiment.
Logan makes three sample and again has Remus test them. this cycle continues until he has the closets match, and Remus loves it.
“this tastes great! thanks Logan I really appreciate it!” Remus hugged Logan.
“You’re very welcome Remus, now please let go you’re crushing me.”
Logan kept his synthetic deodorant to himself until Roman and Remus’s birthday. “Patton you have been baking all day, please take a break and allow me to frost Remus’s cake” Logan says.
Patton smiles, he was exhausted “aww thanks so much kiddo, tell me if you need help!” he skipped over to the couch leaving Logan alone in the kitchen.
Logan summoned a big batch of the synthetic deodorant and got to work frosting Remus’s cake with black and green icing in a way he knew Remus would love.
Everything was ready by the time Remus and Roman came back from their adventure in the imagination.
Logan hands him some cake “try it, you’ll love it”
Remus eats a big bite “Logan! it’s awesome!” He devoured the rest. Logan ate only the cake first and watches Roman take a bite.
Roman’s eyes widened and he spit out the cake “what the hell??”
Logan hides his laughter, Remus doesn’t and he cackles “Logan did you see?”
Roman looks utterly betrayed “you put deodorant on a cake?”
“No, I made synthetic deodorant that’s safe for consumption and put it on the cake since you have your own with regular frosting” Logan says.
Virgil grabs some of Roman’s cake, as does Patton.
When Remus stops laughing he gets up and hugs Logan “this is why I love you.”
