WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT PLAY IT COOL
Okay so I need to talk about some FEELINGS that I am having right now after watching the ABSOLUTE BOP that is the Play It Cool music video.
First of all, HOW DARE THEY wreck my bias list so completely?? Like, Minhyuk is still my #1, now and forever, but then we have THIS asshole (the alli-alligator):
Just sitting there LOOKING at us like that. And then his face when Wonho grabs the mic from him:
Like OKAY. SURE. Because you haven’t gotten enough attention with your EYES and your BEAUTIFUL VOICE at this point in the video. Please let someone else have a fighting chance at sweeping me off my feet.
And then Wonho is all like, “look at me with my awesome pink hair and my blue patterned shirt and my frickin FACE that looks like THIS”:
Because okay, why not? And then later on in the video, when Shownu is trying to have a goddamn MOMENT, Wonho is just SMILING like this:
And now I don’t know where to look because Wonho is beautiful and distracting, but also Shownu is killing it and this lighting is doing wonderful beautiful things for his glowing skin, and then he comes out with his headphones, looking like a WHOLE SNACK:
And don’t even get me started on that scene where they’re all jumping around having a party, because everybody makes the most UPSETTING faces. Like Shownu over here doing this:
And Kihyun busting out his beautiful smile:
Like! Okay! This is fine! I’m still breathing kind of! And this isn’t the only time he busts out the smile, either. Oh no. And at one point he does this finger thing:
And I’m just like, I have no idea what you’re doing but I support you and you can do whatever you want because I love you. And (back to the truly upsetting party scene) Hyungwon is just over here fanning himself like an expensive lady:
And I’m like, YEAH you are worth every penny I’ve ever spent on you. Uh huh. And he’s starting the dance early with his little MOVES over here:
And then the part that FRICKIN KILLED ME, when he’s behind the bar and he just flashes this SMILE like a squishy-faced ANGEL who has come to CURE ME OF ALL MY ILLS:
And I can’t forget Changkyun, because even though he (sadly) has VERY few lines in this whole MV, he is just over here LOOKING like THIS with his EYEBROW PIERCING and his FACE:
And then that party scene where he’s looking like THIS:
Like, who are you even thinking about when you’re looking like that?? Hmmmm??? Because you are just UPSETTINGLY beautiful right now (and always). And then we have this DELIGHTFUL roommate moment:
And ya’ll just TOO CUTE for WORDS. And then we’ve come full circle to my ULTIMATE BIAS Minhyuk, who just FRICKIN KILLED IT in this MV. I mean, first of all, this pen thing:
Like, I knew that he would kill this line (his one solo line), because DUH he’s amazing, but like… the pen thing… it just… gahhhh. And then in the party scene he makes this FACE with his SMILING FACE and he SMILES and I DIE:
And then you think it’s over, but NOOOOO then he goes and makes THIS face with the KISSY LIPS, and I DIE:
And at this point, I just CANNOT anymore. And we get the cute-ass rommate moment with Changkyun, and then ALL OF A SUDDEN, OUT OF NOWHERE, THIS HAPPENS:
GETTING ALL THAT SCREENTIME
IN THE CENTER OF THE CHOREO???????
And yeah. That’s what it was. And I DIE.
So I guess what I’m trying to say is…….
Good job. You really did a thing. And I DIE.
