Reblog if your muse suffers from frequent nightmares.
I am still working on a meta for David here, but if anyone wants a starter or to plot, just like this and I can hop to your DM’s.
For now I’m capping at like 5.

bare your teeth. bare your teeth. bare your teeth.

What kind of Love do you attract?
you attract: hunger
hasty fingers that run down your back as their lips make contact against your skin; feeling lightheaded as traces of "i love you"s make their way down your body; breathing in sensation and breathing out fear. you attract hunger. you are afraid of the unknown, so you dive straight into it. you fear the feeling of being alone, so you seek out those who give you ease and love and thrill even if it may not be the thing that you need. give yourself a moment to breathe, my dear. you still have more to explore. once hunger is quenched, you're allowed to stay. don't feel the rush of leaving. the adrenaline you get from running away won't ever substitute for happiness. you are deserving of love, always. let yourself get it.

if you need anything, you know i’m just a phone call away.
you’re still a baby.
that anger, that pain and hurt that you lay down with at night and wake up with in the morning, that’s the weight keeping you down.
oh god, you’re like ice.
look at your mother when she’s talking to you.
what about a hug for your dad.
what happened, baby?
visiting hours are over.
but you know what i say: experience is the best teacher.
something to eat?
come on out. please, baby.
there are things you don’t know, things you couldn’t know.
let’s go in here for a minute.
sleep okay?
okay, you needed to do that. you needed to get that out of your system.
you feeling okay?
good morning, baby.
careful, you could cut yourself.
it hurts, i know it does, but you have to work toward curing that pain and conquering the hurt.
you’re going to be a good boy, right?
i was your age not too long ago.
how much experience you need before you decide you’re an expert at getting your ass kicked?

I’m just going to throw this out there, David would 100% join the WLV’s. They’re like a new group like New Richmond and he was a Staff Seargent. So, he would definitely be in WLV’s.
I figured he would! I mean, after the Fireflies disband, what’s he going to do anymore?? Then there’s this group taking in ex-Fireflies to give him the chance to fight again? Fuck yeah, he’s definitely there! It’s definitely not the choice that some of his family would vibe with, but if he’s separated from them and can’t get home and then there’s a chance of refuge, he’s smart to take it.
If there is one thing that I did notice, is that David is a survivor and will do what it takes to do so. Even if he is devastated at the idea of his family being lost, he wouldn’t just give up. It’s really not in his vocabulary so he would keep moving forward and when the WLV’s approach him, gave him a place to stay, able to train and fight, you can bet he did join. His stint in the military would definitely help bolster their ranks.
Of course when he does find them again, he would want to bring them back with him because he just wants to protect them and the WLV’s weren’t bad. At least not until Isaac showed his hand.
David will do what it takes to survive and protect, but he wouldn’t go out to kill for the possibility that something might happen. Especially if it’s an encampment or village with kids. I know for a fact David has a soft spot for kids, even when he thought his family was gone he did reach out to take in Clem and AJ. Though he did have to kick her out, he did keep AJ in order to try and make sure he survives so, I know that David would not encourage a raid or surprise assault on any village no matter who it was because 1) they weren’t attacking or preparing too and 2) there were kids and elderly people. David has standards, so I think by that point, David would just want to be done with the whole thing and choose to go with his family
