A post that I have forgotten...
It was our Pinning Ceremony practice today. I was really quiet and didnât really talk with a lot of people. I think it just wasnât a good day for me to socialize. I kept scrambling for words all day.
That aside, Iâve been getting really teary at random moments. I canât believe I really am graduating Nursing School. Iâve stuck with this for 5 years. People have told me how commendable it is to not give up on something when I had my heart set onto something else. Itâs been long and hard, thatâs for sure. I canât believe I made it.
Nursing is a very honorable but humble profession. Itâs not something to take lightly. I know this very well. I am scared of what the future may hold. I am scared of experiencing âburn outâ too quickly... or feeling the âimposter syndrome.â I donât know if Iâll be good at it, or if it will grow on me.
I just know that I want to explore many other different things. I want to do digital art, bullet journaling, modern calligraphy... so many more. I cannot deny myself these things anymore. Iâve been working so hard and it has only taught me how important knowing myself is. Iâve been through so many breakdowns and doubted myself so much so often.
Tomorrow at the Pinning Ceremony, I will remember all of the feelings I experienced through nursing school and everything it taught me about myself. I will pledge to practice Nursing in purity and practice it faithfully. I will pledge to do my best to uphold the standards of Nursing and to devote myself to human welfare. But most importantly, I will pledge to do something that makes me happy and glad to be alive on this earth so that I can share what I found with other people
I just found this post today from 2018. Wow... Iâve been really lost for a long time. I think that I donât belong in Nursing at all. Thatâs something that hasnât changed. I think I am about to make a career change... and Iâm really scared. Iâm not leaving Nursing just yet. I need it to support my dreams. But I am tired. Mentally, emotionally, and physically tired. I thought something would have changed after I graduated Nursing School and actually started working... but I was really wrong. I am unhappy and unfulfilled. If something were to change, it should have by now.
âWe do not learn from experience. We learn from reflecting on experience.â - John Dewey
Donât forget to reflect on this past month!đThereâs no better way to keep track of your progress and growthđthroughout the year than to fill out your reflection!đWhen the end of the year rolls around, youâll be thankful you have something to look back at!đ
things to do more often
- hide little positivity notes in pockets of bags, pants, or jackets you wonât use for a while
- take (actual) candids of your friends when theyâre happy. show them to them laterÂ
- send random snail mail full of goodies to your far away friends
- read for pleasure
- hug your friends and family just because! bonus points if you tell them you love them and/or whyâ thatâs very important to hear once in a while
- add a little cinnamon to your coffee or toast
- use those beauty products youâve been âsavingâ
- send anonymous asks of positivity to people on tumblrâ who doesnât love those omg
- collect little day to day things that make you happy and make a little page of positive vibes
- buy flowers for yourself
- journal about your happiest moments. read them when youâre feeling down
Lifestyle Update
Iâve stopped doing the Keto Diet. About a month ago, I decided that the Keto diet was not for me. Fast forward to today, I did not regained all of the weight that I lost but am slowly gaining a little bit of it back. My weight has gone up 1-2lbs - fluctuating.Â
Yesterday, I decided to start doing an intermittent fasting lifestyle. I will be following the 16:8 plan.
I hope that this plan will work well with me. My goal is still to lose as much weight as I can close to my goal: 110-120 lbs. As for exercise, I have not been doing much at all. I did a few minutes of Yoga today, and Iâm not sure if Iâll be doing it everyday either.Â
Iâll be taking it easy and see how intermittent fasting will affect me.
People try so hard to let go of their negative behaviors and thoughts, and it doesnât work, or it works only for a short time. I didnât let go of my negative thoughts; I questioned them, and then they let go of me, and so did my addictions and depression.

Donât rush whatâs supposed to be a life-long process! Stay strong and great things will come!

Want to Improve your Self Discipline?
1. Make a genuine commitment to being a disciplined person.
2. Be honest about your weaknesses, distractions, and any habits that might knock you off your course.
3. Make a realistic plan. Write it down, or share it with a friend who will help you to be accountable.
4. Design your day to avoid those temptations that will likely undermine your self discipline.
5. If necessary, change your routine.
6. Reward yourself for small steps in the right direction.
7. Although you are aiming to make change a habit, accept that there are likely to be times when you fail â and if you do, just move on as you can always start again.
take all the time you need
donât feel like you have to hide your enthusiasm or appreciation for something or someone. enjoy it to the fullest.
