The terrifying ordeal of being chased by a big scary monster
I don't like to show off my body; I usually prefer to keep it buried in the back yard
My therapist isn't a big fan of me doing butterfly knife tricks for the duration of our sessions, but what else am I supposed to do when being emotionally vulnerable makes me fidgety?
Dan and I bought a thing called “long ziti” from the local Weird Bargain Store, largely as a joke, but…. I have never had a more unsettling pasta experience in my life. They wouldn’t bend enough to cook from top to bottom simultaneously, and while they were cooking boiling water kept spouting out from the tops of them out of the pot, like a boiling pipe organ. Then they were so long and floppy and hoselike that we couldn’t pick them up with anything other than tongs, and then they were so long and unwieldy that it was basically impossible to sauce them without them all slithering out of the bowl like wet snakes. They then proceeded to cool down almost completely within the the seconds it took to walk to the living room. Eating them was like eating a bowl full half melted drinking straws.
Tortuga
I finally gave the Tortuga the meme it deserves.
chicken scissor salad
you dont need to post every single thought that comes to your mind. but i do. i have to
the thing is like. i know plenty of poor americans that really did join the military because it was "the only option" but its important to recognize that even among those people its not actually the only option. you can just be poor. they made the choice to kill people so they could advance their own societal position. thats still evil
omg yessss🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️
Dont you know? Only the United States are working class, and the people poor americans killed or helped kill overseas in the global south are all bourgeoisie!!
Not being homeless is selfish now, right.
Look, I’ll definitely judge you if you join ICE, I don’t care how broke your ass is. But the vast majority of the jobs in a peacetime military do NOT involve being ready to kill people at a moment’s notice.
Everything ICE does to people inside the US, the US military does 100x worse to people in the global south, you just don't judge them as harshly bc you see their victims as abstract offscreen masses instead of actual human beings
I was in the US military, in one of those legendary roles that never requires you to pick up a gun. I still did maintenance on radars used to find targets for those guns, served food to the people carrying those guns, repainted decks that had crayon stains from children that had been imprisoned on the ship before I ever set foot in it.
Every day that I woke up and put on that uniform and did my job, I was actively helping maintain the US's imperial hegemony. Every moment that I spent scraping paint or scrubbing rust was keeping that ship in fighting trim to go out and ruin lives. Every time that I brought a friend a snack or told a joke to a coworker, I was keeping up the morale of an organization that exists to commit unfathomable cruelties.
I have done many terrible things in my life. Joining the US military was the very worst thing that I ever did. There's never a reason good enough that it justifies selling your soul to something that utterly heinous. It is never, ever the right choice.
Never let some invisibly wrinkled centuries old bloodsucker give you shit for being new bitch on the block. They think they’re sooo mighty and powerful bc they’ve survived for sooo long when like 90% of that timeframe there weren’t any guns or cameras or borders so they could kill some random defenseless lady, fuck off 1 village east, and nobody would blink an eye. Now you pop around the block for a lazy bite to eat and 8 electric eyeballs bear witness to your target pulling iron and filling your gut with 9mm rounds before activating an international manhunt on your ass. Camarilla execs haven’t ever dealt with this shit personally. Some of these dusty motherfuckers predate widespread literacy and have never budged from their Embrace city and it damn well shows. I’d like to see one of London’s mutant ass 5th gen’s go without a kine proxy for a week in the modern day. They’ll guaranteed fumble the hunt after centuries of Doordashing their drinks and get inquisitors with phosphor rounds driving them out of their safe space. Can’t drive, no ID, no credit card, no records, not a fucking drop of patience for interacting with mortals, good fucking luck starting up in a new city much less getting to it. Call me an insolent whelp again bitch i’ll run you over with my car and selfie your broke and steamrolled ass to the groupchat #GoGrampa
As seen on my moms snowplow/blower thing
How to Finish
I drew this poster for Jon Acuff and his FINISH book tour. Big thanks to Jon for this collaboration, his book has some great ideas about how to complete creative and life goals.
Love this, but reblogging it specifically for “Get rid of secret rules.” That’s one of the most amazing illustrations—and points—I’ve ever seen.
so important especially for perfectionists who procrastinate and never finish, or even start because they set such high standards for themselves.
Or for finding the motivation to start or finish a task with executive dysfunction
