Desco blinked upon hearing a manâs voice above her. Earlier, she had seen some kind ofâŚpurpleâŚchandelier thingie flying around - and it had a face-! Chandelierâs could have faces?! That was so new to her! But then again, she was a monsterâŚbarely knew of anything of the human world, asides from the fact that she was created by a human.
âDesco has.â She said, staring at the strange man in front of her.Â
âBut she canât remember where it went. Desco thinks that it went that way,â She pointed, âBut she canât be sure.âÂ
The girl was dressed quite peculiarly. Long ears, horns, a tail? Sure, there were a couple of pokemaniacs on his subway and they outfitted themselves in similar costumes, but Ingo didn't think such garbs were permitted in a school such as this. Â Still, this was no time for him to get derailed; there were more pressing matters that he had to attend to. For now, he put the girl's unusual choice in clothes on the backburner. This was still a lead after all!
"Bravo! Thank you, miss. If it is not too much trouble, could I ask you to accompany me in finding her?" Perhaps if the girl did, then she'd remember where she saw Chandelure heading!
Finally having donned the prescribed uniform, Tamazuki drew no more curious glances and was finally left mainly to his own devices. The exception would always be when he was bumped into or tapped on the shoulder- negligible incidents, at best.
As he made his way down the hallway, he was accosted none too rudely and asked for the whereabouts of- a âpurple chandelierâ. Was that a manner of youkai? One he wasnât familiar with, for shame.Â
âIf youâd go into more detail, perhaps it would benefit your search. Inanimate objects taking on wills of their own donât seem to be at all a rarity here.â
Ingo's eyes widened slightly in surprise. For a second it sounded as if the young man knew what he was talking about, or at least something somewhat similar. At least he wasn't getting strange looks, that might have been a bit uncomfortable for him if that was the case. He still hadn't figured out a good way to explain of pokemon to someone who wasn't familiar with them.
"Is.. that so? My apologies, Chandelure is about three feet tall if you count the height of her flames." He made hand gestures to roughly show the shape of her body, which was round. "She also has a face; yellow eyes. Does that help?"Â
No, with little doubt, that was something of a nonsensical query, even in the storytellerâs books - quite a feat, actually, presenting him with something he hasnât seen nor heard of before. (That being said, he still had yet to fully open his eyes to the true, oxymoronic obscure banality of the academy, but that was another matter entirely.)
Within reason, then, did he regard the unfamiliar other with a slight tilt of his head, confusion presenting itself in the form of a blank stare. Almost instantly did he think him to be speaking metaphorically somehow: certainly, he couldnât lie and say that he knew the specifics of this alleged metaphor, but, if it happened to be a viable excuse for his line of logic, nor could he see this gentleman to be speaking literally.
But, then again, perhaps he was wrong - years upon years of mere observing doesnât guarantee infallibility, after all.
âIâŚcanât say that I have, I fear to say. Iâd imagine that I would definitely remember having done so if I had - but, as things currently standâŚâ (a frown; a few silent seconds to run through his question a second time in his head) âI havenât seen a purple chandelier traversing around here, no.â
Ingo heaved a sigh. He should have figured that it wouldn't have been that easy to find her. If she was around here, then this man surely would have noticed. Which meant that Chandelure must have gone farther than he expected. He'd have to extend his parameters then.Â
"I see. In that case," Ingo cleared his throat and dug into his pockets until he located a scrap piece of paper and a pen. He wrote down his phone number in a neat and precise manner before handing it to the other man. "if you do happen to cross tracks with her, please contact me as soon as possible."
How in the world was it possible to lose track of a Chandelure? Ingo was really scolding himself for allowing this to happen. He took his eyes off her for one second and--!! She was probably exploring since it was a new place, it was rare for the Chandelure to see anything out of Gear Station and their home... Of course she knew not to burn spirits, but it was in her nature to do so and it didn't hurt to be cautious.
The only consolation he had was that she probably wouldn't go too far. At the very least she would stay within the building. Perhaps it'd be best to seek help? He looked around the hall and approached the person closest to him.
"Pardon, but have you seen a--" Ingo paused. He heard that not everyone around here knew what pokemon was-- that's why he was teaching a class about them after all-- and picked a different set of words, "a purple chandelier traversing around here?" His frown deepened at the end of that; the question sounded really absurd to him, he could imagine how it'd be to anyone else.Â
âMOVING TO STRING OF FATESâ
There had been a rather unsettling feeling twisting his insides the past few weeks, but for the life of him Ingo couldn't figure out the cause of it. It was true that he hadn't managed to visit his younger brother as much as he wanted to-- at all, to be perfectly honest-- but it just seemed odd to chalk this nausea up to that.Â
Then again, when he went up to Emmet's apartment last, his little brother wasn't there. Not just that, but it was apparent that Emmet hadn't been around in a long while.Â
Ingo toyed with the idea that maybe Emmet had just gotten lost in the big city. It was a short lived theory considering that his brother was capable enough to not stay lost for very long.Â
The only other explanation he could come up with was that Emmet moved to a different room and failed to tell him. They had a certain lack in conversation for about a month and even the incredible amount of messages he used to receive stopped. A part of him almost desperately missed that and another part of him felt utterly stupid for not doing something about this earlier.
He trudged over to the bulletin board listing off the housing situation for all residents of Hive City and scanned through the complexes, carefully taking in each name. When he didn't catch an "Emmet" the first time through, he went through the list again. and again. and again. and again until he had a good portion of the lists memorized. But Emmet wasn't there.
Well, that was that. Emmet was gone. It was probably for the best. While Hive City hadn't been horrible, there was still the possibility that it could turn dangerous at any second-- it was an experiment after all. It was good that Emmet got away. It was. But still...ă
"Emmet..."Â

â Before she let yet another frown grab hold of her face from returning to this place, the girl put effort into rising that frown into a smile as she spread her fingers wide and clenched themâ Repeating the pattern as she spoke one word. ;
âYo.â
The second thing Ingo noticed was that this woman was rather... scantily clad. He felt a bit unsettled. But, minding his manners, Ingo returned the gesture a little less casually.
"Greetings. Have you just arrived here, miss?"
[open]
Shade rubs the back of his neck before throwing his cape off as he walks up to a nearby bench.Â
âArgh⌠Iâve been here for god knows how long and only talked to one strange little man⌠then again⌠I did disappear for a while. Might as well get back to this wreck.â
He flops down onto the bench and lays back relaxing and stares out into the distance. After a while he blinks before pushing his glasses up towards his mask and the jaw of his mask opens as he sees a figure in the distance.Â
âOhhh~ Who do we have here⌠Strange little man? Someone else? My curiosity could not be any greater.â
Shade quickly stands up and straightens out his suit before patting it down. He then takes his cape and hooks it back around his neck before proceeding towards the figure. He reaches up to earshot and waves his arm.
âHello there figure in the distance~!â
Ingo's attention had been successfully claimed as he turned towards the source of the booming voice. His attire was a little uncommon, but he seemed like a friendly type of person, so Ingo gave a small wave back. Of course his greeting wasn't anything as grand as the stranger's.
"Greetings! I am Ingo."
She immediately clung to him, as if on instinct. Rarely did anyone accept her offer of adoption, so this was possibly the best surprise that she had ever gotten. She made no noise of affirmation, and simply attached herself to his arm as she would to a real family member if she had one.Â
âNow that youâre my brother, you will have to do brotherly things for me. You will protect me, and be my friend, and love me. Also, there will be lots of gifts.â She listed these things as if they were ingredients. That was what she had always wanted a brother to do, and so it should be. She peeked up at him, looking for either reprimand (as she would have usually gotten) or approval. She hoped for the latter. After all, once someone was her brother, they would have to treat her like a sister, too. And that meant being nice! Not mean like her other brother wasâ had been. He was not allowed to ignore her, not ever. It would be like a real family. She voiced this fact. âAnd you must pay attention to me,â she said, emphasizing the âme.â Though Yamada was small, she thought highly of herself. She was the center of the world, was she not?
By reflex, Ingo tried to get himself out of her grip-- though it was a futile attempt since it felt like being in a vicegrip. He wasn't horrible enough to suddenly back out after vaguely agreeing to it, but he was seriously wondering just what he got himself into...
But, good lord, she was like a clingier version of Emmet! Albeit smaller. The attitude wasn't something that was too much of a problem, as he had long grown accustomed to the almost childish and dependent nature of his younger brother, but this was still a little jarring. Physical contact, and all of that other uncomfortable stuff. Not to that emphasis she put on "me"... He already had Chandelure (now Litwick) fight with Emmet for his attention; adding another person into that mix wouldn't end well for him.
He cleared his throat. "W..well, I do not think it would be difficult to those things, but I must ask that we, ah, take this slow."
new adventures` â ( intro, open )
This was overwhelming. Being brought into a new place, a place youâve never seen before. Anyone would be shocked, or confused.Â
Not Fionna.Â
The young girl stood in the middle of the street, blue eyes wide with astonishment and filled with curiosity. All these lights, all the noises. The ones back in Ooo were nothing compared to the ones here. So many different things she had never seen before. A few she could recognize because of the ruins back home, there were a lot of things here that looked like the destroyed scraps back at the junk yard. Oh, but that wasnât the point. The point was that she was in a new, exciting city and she was itching to go exploring.Â
In reality, the blonde didnât really pay too much attention to the introduction. Something about some experiment and scientists. This all sounded like something Gumball would be dealing with, but she couldnât really ask him about it because he wasnât here. She had never heard of Hive City, and she had almost explored every nook and cranny of the Land of Ooo. Never had she come across something like this. Her gaze shifted to the people walking on the side walks â
Wait, ⌠people? She blinked once. Then twice. ⌠Were these actual people? Like her? There was a light churn in her stomach, but she ignored it. There was no TIME to get all soul searchy, not right now at least. It was time to explore first, ask questions later.
âHey Cake ââ
Oh, wait. Cake wasnât here with her, now, was she? Maybe she had gone exploring without her? If she had, then Fionna would have to take that up with her later on â you NEVER going exploring without her. She is an explorer, an ADVENTURER. She did this for a living.Â
She couldnât get carried away, though. She had to find her apartment first, or something. Maybe Cake was there? Sheâd have to find out herself. Fionna wasnât anything near shy, and so she walked up to the nearest person, and smiled.
âSup! Iâm kinda new here and uhh ⌠I need to find my friend. Can you help me?â
A newcomer. The rate they came in really was shocking. Just how many people did they need for this "social experiment"? And she was just a child, too. It was a little more than distressing.
Ah, but she was asking for help, wasn't she? And she was looking for her friend... as for as Ingo knew, people came here by themselves, so it was... incredibly likely that this girl's friend wasn't here. Then again, Emmet showed up all of a sudden before. There was also some chance that her friend was already here, or would be coming shortly. Honestly, there were too many possibilities, and, really, it wouldn't hurt to look around.
Snapping out of that entire list of odds, Ingo finally focused back on the girl in front of him.
"Certainly! May I ask what your friend looks like?"
And Klausâs hat flips up and back onto his head in that theatric way he always performs the act, and once on, is tipped similarly to how Ingoâs was.
âIngo, sir, I am sorry to have patted your buttocks. Please take this as a token of my apology!â
He reaches behind the otherâs sideburn ear and pulls out a small coin.
Ingo took the coin with a look of mild shock. That was, admittedly, pretty amazing. He had seen parlor tricks like this before when Emmet dragged him to the amusement parks in Nimbasa City, but it was something different to have it happen to himself. Goodness, Klaus was full of first experiences, wasn't he? And this was much better than getting groped.
"Bravo! That was excellent!"
Being Misplaced Is Not Pleasant [CA OPEN]
[ The area in which she now occupied was certainly not her hive, nor did it resemble Alternia.. Or even that meteor that she was recently on. But this place was not that place. What place was this? ] Am I Lost
[ The words came out quietly, ending in a voice that opting to end in a voice that ended in a question. As usual, each word was spoken clearly and enunciated effenctiantly. The troll found a place to sit and chose to sort out her memories and thoughts. Crossing her legs, she found a small piece of paper in her hand. Looking at it, she saw âH-1â written on it. Despite the letter and number not being written in Alternian, the troll understood it perfectly. She also discovered a tube of green lipstick. ]
[ She was going to live there now, wasnât that right? Kanaya frowned, realizing how serious her situation was. Plucked out of where she was, away from her companions and a mission to help them, the troll found herself in a new environment, surrounded by people she was unfamiliar with. It was very⌠] [ Unsettling. ] I Must Find A Place To Consider What Is Happening To Me Possibly Such As This Establishment I Am Thus Now Expected To Occupy
[ Standing up, lightly dusting off her clothes â Which still had specks of blood of them from previous encounters that she experienced before she arrived. She lightly touched her torso and remembered the wound and how it had been created then helped. She breathed out slowly, shrugging off those memories. ]
[ Now was not the time to get emotional. ]
"Strange" was something Ingo wasn't particularly fond of describing someone as, but in this case, he had a difficult time thinking of another word. Horns, yellow sclera, not to mention her ashen complexion-- and to think the depot agents often complained about him and Emmet being too pale-- strange certainly fit the bill.
Once Ingo tried to get passed the bizarre traits this girl possessed, he took notice to the fact that he'd been staring at her from afar for quite some time. He cleared his throat. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that she was rather troubled.
He walked up to the girl and tipped his hat to her. "Are you in need of some assistance, miss?"
Klaus smiles friendlily and bows, his top hat now in the hat that was holding the rose.
âPleasure to meet you, by the way! My name is Klaus McQuillen!â
By habit, Ingo's hand found the brim of his own hat and tipped it to Klaus.
"Mr. Klaus, then! I am Ingo."
âI am Yamada,â declared Yamada. She looked at him for a moment before nodding in approval. âWill you adopt me?â Maybe if someone would adopt her, and give her a real family, Yamada would be more welcome. Families always made her happy. They made everyone happy, she decided. You could not be unhappy if you had a good family. A loving one. One that she did not, in fact, have. âPlease?â
It would've been easier to turn the girl down if she didn't add in that extra "please". But why was she asking him to adopt her? Did she... not have parents of her ow-- That wasn't really something he could easily come out and ask her, but if that were the case, then it was something that Ingo could (in a way) relate to.Â
What would Emmet do? Probably adopt the girl without a second of hesitation and then barge into his room going "I am Emmet and I have just adopted this young lady!" or something to that effect.Â
If Yamada was unhappy with her current situation, then he should do what he could to help her, correct? That sounded right. But adoption was a bit extreme...
Ingo cleared his throat. "This... is a little sudden," he started carefully, "but I suppose, I could be like your older brother. If that is alright with you."
cirque-du-pain replied to your post:
âA dare! Apologies for being so touchy-feely, but those were the requirements!â He continues to hold out the rose. âAnd this was a separate dare!â
That... made sense. Maybe. Ingo was then filled with a relief that he was never "dared" to do something like that to someone-- no, the worst thing he had to do was hug strangers-- which was still too intimate for him, but...
"I see... Thank you for the rose, sir." Ingo accepted the rose as gratefully as he could.Â
