That was the final message I get from one of my most favorite games on the main menu screen after they ultimately shut down the servers so literally no content can be accessed. Ironically the character in the main menu screen has to be Ghalt, who fits for the line “It’s been hell of a ride, but all fights must end”. (Ghalt is the leader for the Story missions and the main menu shows a randomized picture out of three; the other two being Thorn and Beatrix.)

Before I left the in-game menu screen the last character I saw was my dear gentlebot Marquis d’Caliber standing there and idling while the Battleborn music was playing in the background. I knew I wouldn’t see him again so I literally waved him goodbye and a whispered “Thank you for everything” with tears in my eyes. I was actually crying when I saw the above message show up on my screen. It felt so unreal. Didn’t want this day to come. I already play so little of Overwatch since a year back or so but how am I gonna be able to play Overwatch now without being reminded of Battleborn? It hurts like hell.

Thank you Battleborn for being part of my life. Thank you Gearbox for providing all the fun dialogues, the colorful personalities between characters, the wonderful designs, the Lore, even down to some memorable music. I’m gonna miss them all, including the Wolf Sentry (from Ep. 2), Chronicle (from Ep. 4) and Geoff aka Arachnis (from Ep. 1) and also our Sentries on Incursion maps.

Special thank you Marquis for existing with the game - it wouldn’t be the same without you (and thanks to his creators too; writer and designer).

I truly wish to see Battleborn alive and kicking again in the future.
