Thinking of the tgd ending with a whole new perspective as an adult vs. how i first saw it as a teenager. yes im still pissed they canceled after only 1 season bc it deserved more BUT I find the ending so bittersweet in that the final duet is their way they said to their first love that this is not goodbye, this is only a see you soon, on the other side of life and glamour and fame. and the unshakable belief that when one day we're both on top of the world we will think of each other and what it all meant not with regret but only with love. i need to go but I'll see you on the other side and you (the watcher) believe it to be true the same way you're 17 and believed you'd love forever. and in the moment you believe it, it is true.
