Jimins promise is a letter to himself. It’s a song he wrote for himself and the lyrics confess to us what he never did.

“Sitting alone, my mind keeps going far away. Since when I’ve given pain to you, you’re going further away. You’re hurt cause you’re mine, I just wanna blow your mind.”

He’s known for being extremely hard on himself. Overworking his body and mind till he collapsed some times. He’s talking to himself; his body and his mind that he has been so unforgiving and hard on himself, after all this time; his body is hurt, suffering or in pain cause it belongs to him. Him being the person that he is and working himself to the bone cause he just wants to blow everyone’s minds with what he can do or even surprise himself with what he can do.

“You’re getting further away from me again. It’s nothing huge, I say it like that but to be honest, it’s actually not like that.”

He always says it’s no big deal if he suffers a bit or if he beats himself down for one missed note or a voice crack but actually it is and it makes so much sense cause he acts like it doesn’t bother him; the mistakes, the hate and everything that gets thrown at him. He acts like it’s nothing huge or burdening but only he knows it’s not like that.

“YOU should be YOUR light. So that you won’t be hurt and you could smile. YOU could be your night. Be honest to you tonight”

The concept of loving yourself that has been the theme for this era. The idea that you’re the one you should love. You’re the one who is your own light. Loving yourself is the answer for the smile. Love yourself enough that you know you can survive the night by yourself. You very well know that, All you need to get through the night is you. Help yourself survive tonight.

“Promise to me now, even if you feel you’re alone. Several times a day, don’t throw yourself away, let’s stop here for a moment intertwine our pinkies and promise me.”

Even if you feel hopeless and lonely several times a day that doesn’t mean you should end it or throw yourself away. Stop right there and promise to yourself, to love yourself and keep loving yourself. Be your own light. Help yourself survive the night.

The layers of emotions packed in this song is fucking breathtaking. Everything about this song is so intimately Jimin. The message, the melody, the lyrics; it’s all him.

Honestly, writing about a pinky promise in a song is the most Jimin thing Jimin has ever done.

This song is so much more than just lyrics on a paper y’all. This right here, it’s sacred for everyone who has ever loved Jimin.

That’s it though. Park Jimin is not just a pretty face. Park Jimin is a genius singer songwriter and this song right here, this is just the beginning.

Lie was orchestral, Serendipity was all about that angelic beat drop and Promise is his beautiful voice and acoustics. This boys musical range is so damn versatile, y’all are not even remotely ready.

Hero & Ghost Story Idea

So I had this idea for a superhero/supernatural story in which the Hero foils the Foe’s lifelong scheme of like, bringing their family back and/or destroying the world (you know, the usual), and the Foe dies in the process. Later, the Hero goes about their regular life: school/work, being a hero, lying about being a hero, etc. and finds the Foe’s ghost haunting their apartment. 

The Foe totally screws with the Hero for a while. [ “Is that blood?” - “On your mirror? Nah. I’d be more worried about the interior of your fridge, if I were you. Turns out, severed pig heads are not the cleanest haunting product.” ]

But then (over time) the Foe forgives the Hero’s transgressions [ “My transgressions? Seriously?” - “Do you want forgiveness or not, hmm?” ] and they become bros and eventually partners.

[ “I am not helping you save the world. I’m just helping you. Period. Just you.”

“Uh-huh.”

“I give no shits for the world.”

“Right.”

“And I’m not your sidekick.”

“Whatever you say.” ]

Ghost Foe and Hero have a Police Officer they both despise because A) Po-Po was trying to put Formerly Evil Ghost Foe behind bars and was not a nice dude about it, and B) Po-Po believes Hero is actually a Vigilante Of No Use who Destroys The City (and other tropes, haha!) and is not a nice dude about that either. 

But! Because I like kindness, Po-Po comes around and joins their squad or something. Maybe.

So, yeah. Somebody write this.
