Hey guys, I hate to have to make this kind of post again but we’re getting into the season of No Work Hours for me (I do inventory and stores don’t want us there during the big holiday months) so things are gonna get real tight real quick. I’ve been applying to some seasonal jobs to fill the gap but haven’t gotten picked up yet, and even then I’d likely have to wait for that first paycheck if I come in mid-pay period.

Okay. I've got a new seasonal position starting tomorrow and I think I'll be able to scrounge up the difference for the first half of rent before we're in any trouble, but I'm still in a bit of a scramble for utilities. I've been reaching out to apply to assistance programs but so far it sounds like most of them are either too backed up or just not taking new applications during the holidays. Options are already pretty limited in this city/county cause we're not military lol

I knew eventually I'd have to make this post but the events of this week have pretty much been the last straw. The CDC is no longer publishing scientifically accurate information about vaccines.

Please do not get health information from the CDC for the foreseeable future. If you are an American, depending on your state, the state health department may have more accurate information. States in the Governor's Public Health Alliance are relatively trustworthy.

I've personally been using Dr. Kaetlyn Jetelina's newsletter as a less-grim way to keep up with US public health news. It's on substack unfortunately, but the information is solid.

Yale School of Public Health's POPHIVE is also a good way to track population health trends in the US.

I know this is not at the top of the administration's crimes. But it is one of them, and it is going to hurt a lot of people. Not much I can say but that I'm heartbroken.

I don’t even like Jimmy Kimmel’s unfunny ass but ABC firing him is so alarming. They’re coming for the mid white men. We’re toast.

They characterized his description of the CK shooter as MAGA as “hate speech.” The FCC chair openly threatened ABC saying they can do this “the easy way or the hard way,” and ABC caved almost immediately.

This is wildly fucked up.

I can’t stress enough how mild Jimmy’s comments were on the situation and how deeply, deeply terrifying the reaction has been.

After CBS cancelled Stephen Colbert, Donald Trump immediately tweeted that Jimmy Kimmel was next.

That happened less than a month ago.

I don't think that and his firing over Kirk are unrelated events.

We are in a country where free speech is actively being repressed.
