so I see DJ Khaled jokes pertaining to his weight as the basis for why he doesn’t give head. yall men of all body types will weaponize financial security to lord patriarchal harms over their significant others. Khaled being fat has shit to do with that

“Zoe loves the movies. So I knew if I was going to propose, it had to involve the movies. But I can’t make a movie myself because I don’t work in film. So I had to get creative. I ordered a black-and-white Italian film from a vintage film dealer. It seemed vaguely romantic. I spent four months editing it on my computer. I changed all the subtitles. I cut out the harem scene. I completely changed the plot so that it resembled our lives. I wrote some dialogue about picture frames because Zoe’s family owns a frame shop. And I love trains. So I made the main character a train enthusiast. When I finished the editing, I rented out a small theater with sixty seats. I invited all of Zoe’s friends and family. I made sure everyone sat in the front and didn’t turn around. The weather was beautiful that day. Zoe didn’t want to go to a movie. We got in a big fight about it, but I finally convinced her. I was so nervous that I laughed during the whole film. I’d seen all the jokes 1000 times but I laughed at them anyway. Then during the final scene, the main characters started speaking to the audience, and one of them asked: ‘Does anyone here want to get married?’ So I stood up. The lights came on. All her friends and family turned around. And I gave a speech that I prepared. I was so nervous that I forgot to ask the actual question. But Zoe bailed me out and said ‘yes’ anyway.”
im sorry what?????????? IS THIS rEAL?>this is the cutest thing I’ve eVER REad?!
“We were pretty poor back in Mexico. My parents were divorced. Mom did the best she could. She was always a hustler. She’d sell jewelry, or food, or anything that she could. But a lot of nights there still wouldn’t be enough to eat. We’d survive on tortillas and salt. I was only eight when we came to America. So I was too young to understand. I think my mom thought she could make some money and bring us home. She thought she’d learn English, and maybe start a business. But it was so much harder than she expected. We moved so much looking for work. She’s fifty and she still cleans houses every day. Every year she gets more worn down. She’s been getting sick a lot lately. But she can’t afford to stop. She never will. Right now I’m in school. I always thought I had to be the best student because I’m undocumented. I thought I’d go to law school, or graduate school. But now I’m not so sure. My mom would literally destroy her body to make that happen for me. How could I allow that to happen? I’m a Dreamer. And everyone loves the Dreamers because we’re a perfect package to sell. But why am I the only one who gets the chance to feel safe? Whenever I hear ‘I stand with Dreamers,’ I always think about my mom. I’m not willing to throw her under the bus. I’m not willing to be a bargaining chip to make her seem like a criminal. Everything people admire about Dreamers is because of our parents.”

the harry potter books rated by Harry's Sass™
the sorcerer's stone: dudley asking harry if he wants to practice sticking his head down the toilet and harry replying "no thanks, the poor toilet's never had anything as horrible as your head down it - it might be sick" like ooo!!! sick burn!!! good for an 11 year old but overall still in the developmental stage. 6/10
the chamber of secrets: dudley (once again lmao get rekt) telling harry "i know what day it is" and harry replying "well done, so you've finally learned the days of the week." lockhart trying to be all Amazing Teacher™ and shit and telling harry "just do what i did, harry!" and harry saying "what, drop my wand?" overall good but not with as much of an Oomph™ factor as the sorcerer's stone. 5/10
the prisoner of azkaban: ah yes!!! Harry's Sass™ in its adolescent years!!!! no longer a toddler, now solidly about 11 years old. draco making fun of harry for fainting at the quidditch game bc of the dementors and saying "shame [the broom] doesn't come with a parachute - in case you get too near a dementor." and harry replying "pity you can't attach an extra arm to yours, malfoy. then it could catch the snitch for you." 8/10 purely because he fucking MURDERED whiny bitch ass baby malfoy ha ha take that
the goblet of fire: a good amount of sass!! a healthy amount of sass! perhaps a bit held back though (come on harry get it together). rita skeeter annoying harry and asking for a word and jk rowling LITERALLY writing "'yeah, you can have a word,' said harry savagely. 'good-bye'" like FUCK he is canon savage in this book!!!! DAMN!!!!! and then he reks malfoy AGAIN "you know that expression [your mother's got], like she's got dung under her nose? has she always looked like that, or was it just because you were with her?" MOTHERFUCK GO OFF 9/10
the order of the phoenix: HOLY GRAIL OF HARRY'S SASS™. THE MOTHERLOAD. GOD DAMN. when vernon asks him why he's listening to the news again and harry replies w/ "well, it changes every day, you see." when hermione's warning him about picking fights w/ malfoy bc malfoy will make life hard for him and harry's like "wow, i wonder what it'd be like to have a difficult life" like fuck harry!!! tell us how u really feel!!!! literally ANY TIME he talks to an adult he doesn't like. sassing dudley left & right, putting him in his place w/ "this is night, diddykins. that's what we call it when it goes all dark like this" like fuck harry brought out the big guns w/ "diddykins". overall wonderful, truly. a good healthy teenage dose of sass. 100/10
the half blood prince: SHIT DO I EVEN NEED TO SAY ANYTHING EXCEPT "THERE'S NO NEED TO CALL ME SIR, PROFESSOR" LIKE FUCK. BEST PART OF THE WHOLE BOOK. OF THE WHOLE SERIES. FUCKING OWNED SNAPE HE'S FUCKIN REKT LYING ON THE FLOOR CRYING DRINKING SOME CHEAP ASS DISGUSTING ASS FIREWHISKEY. BREAKS THE GOD DAMN MOTHERFUCKING SCALE SO FAR OFF THE SCALE IT'S ON MARS. INFINITY/10. FUCK.
the deathly hallows: "it's time you learned some respect!" "it's time you earned it" sassing the minister of magic hooooooo boy. not much else bc harry's too busy like saving the world and shit. so extra points for multitasking and being an overall well rounded sass-er. 8/10
Why are you and John such SJW pieces of shit?
Laci Green/Feminist Discourse/Feelings
So, the drama surrounding Laci Green right now is giving me ~feelings~ One one hand, I can completely empathize with those who believe that Laci’s recent conversations with anti-SJW’s legitimizes their viewpoints and gives them license to invalidate those who choose not to engage in those conversations. I can see how it can feel like she’s giving ground to those who have been hateful and ignorant. This is particularly relevant because she is such a major player in online feminist discourse. Her words/actions really matter because they have the power to shift the conversation/narrative dramatically (like they are right now). However, I also really empathize with Laci. When anything that whiffs of politics immediately becomes polarized/toxic/distorted, when it feels like we’re arguing over minutiae with people that we already agree with, when discourse is hindered by an inundation of hate after anyone says anything - it feels tangible and liberating to start by simply having a conversation with someone. It’s something that I sometimes choose to do when I’m feeling up to it (whether that be on twitter, youtube, reddit, or irl). I’m Latina & I grew up in rural Georgia. I HAD to learn how to engage with people of different opinions in order to survive. And it has worked for me. I’ve been able to change people’s opinions through open dialogue. Yes, it has left me feeling extremely raw, hurt, angry, and hopeless at times. BUT IT HAS ALSO WORKED ENOUGH TIMES THAT I KEEP DOING IT. I have been attacked by my fellow feminists for taking the “discourse” approach. But it’s what works and feels productive FOR ME (sometimes). I’m definitelyDEFINITELYdefinitely not saying that everyone should take this approach. It can be traumatizing/mind-numbingly frustrating/painful/useless. What I am saying is that we should allow people a bit more freedom to pursue justice in the way that makes the most sense for them. We have to attack the forces of oppression from all sides, in any way that we can, in order for progress to be made. We need progressive activists/artists/radicals just as much as we need progressive politicians/diplomats/CEOs.
Progress is slow and arduous, YES, but it’s progress. No one was born a perfectly considerate, compassionate, thoughtful human being who never said anything offensive. Even those of us who have spent a long time engaging with feminist discourse & consider it a core part of his/her/their identity...fuck up sometimes. Which is why I believe that we could all stand to be a bit more generous with those who are already on our side. Reminds me of that Dumbledore quote: “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” Feminists may disagree about how best to achieve equity. But I hope that we can all try to understand one another more actively in our pursuit. /please call me out on my bullshit, tell me why I’m wrong, educate me/ /i recognize that this is a shout into the void and few no one will ever read this, but it feels good to say anyways/
