     hey guys !! i really hate to do this but it’s pretty clear that i’m no longer able to fill my role in a way that is fair to this beautiful rp and as much as i have developed all of my characters here, real life is just getting to be a lot and maybe a little too much with everything & it’s taken a pretty heavy toll not just on my free time, but in my muse too. so, that being said, i have decided that i’m going to leave ( but hopefully come back in the future !! ). you all are such wonderful writers –– honestly some of the best writers that i have ever encountered in the rpc –– and i’m honestly so honoured to have been here –– julietta / théodore have been two of my favourite muses. thank you guys so so so so so much for dealing with me, i appreciate it so much. i just wanted to write this up before i sent my message to the main. if you want to keep in contact my discord is lexi#8784 or my rph is xaviersrrano . ily you all so much and i’m so sorry !! ♥♥♥♥♥♥

the sudden return of the ottoman sultan was all the castle seemed to speak about, and raphael was quickly growing tired of the news. he did not care even a slightly bit for the man or for his return. but he played the game for a while, knowing that this is how things work. although it was getting extremely dull. “yes, i did hear about it… it would be difficult not to.” he replied to a nobleman that spoke of the news in much excitement. as the other man let him be, he poured himself a glass of red wine.

“while i am deeply curious about the sultan’s appearance, it would be refreshing to hear something actually new.” he admitted as he noticed another person stand near him.

julietta smiled slightly. she was glad to hear that the sultan was safe and sound –– although supposed enemies, she did have a heart and she did not wish ill upon anyone. “mysterious circumstances, for sure,” julietta confirmed. “something new? clearly you’ve come to the wrong place –– either things are overtalked about, kept way too under wraps, or are just simply –– wrong.” she sighed, “although in my life? i fear as though it has remained stagnant ever since i have arrived.”

“All of the horses are of such high caliber and breeding,” Darius mused as he watched the stable hands tend to them; creatures with living conditions far more luxurious than any commoner. “Stables filled with fine animals though I’m afraid I’ve never met an aristocrat with decent horsemanship. Showmanship, of course, but a true equestrian? It is such a waste,” he finished with a laugh.

“sounds like you have some very strong opinions,” julietta laughed. it wasn’t often that she heard someone insult such people of high standing, “would you want to teach them a lesson?”

The prince shook his head in reply, doing his utmost to ignore the further throbbing that such an action brought with it. The rash decisions he had taken the night before were certainly not for the best. Not that he was any stranger to nightly drinking, but some days when he had an overwhelming need to forget, he would lose the little inhibitions he had left. Surely, he would not tell a lady the reasons behind his distressed look, as she had labelled it. “Oh no, your Highness. Fret not, I am not distressed! I am merely lacking a good night’s sleep, and wished to find some peace somewhere other than my chambers,” he assured her with a hint of a faint smile settling on his lips.

julietta was hoping that the enthusiasm was not merely just a mask over his tone, so she just shrugged off his reply as the truth, “in that case, i’m glad to hear that you are only bringing positive vibes into this library.” she saw as the small smile spread across his face and couldn’t help but give her own smile, “peace and quiet. doesn’t it seem like it’s so hard to come by in the happenings of court?”

     the news of the sultan’s return was all that the castle could talk about. and despite the discussions of peace unfolding among the countries, alexandre felt no delight. he was not the type to wish ill on anyone, so this update simply made the king cautious – that empire was not to be trusted. piercing blue gaze swiveled over his surroundings as he leaned against the stone wall, a tired hum slipping from his lips.

          ‘ god is a blessed one… i am sure his family is overjoyed. ’ that bit was genuine, at least.

“you know who is more overjoyed though?” théo questioned raising an eyebrow, “me, of course.” he let out light laughter. it seemed as though the atmosphere was heavier than usual, despite receiving supposedly good news that other royalty had not perished although all clues indicated that they had. “i’d rather see your face than –– whoever –– arrived from the mountains.” théo was simply saying whoever, although he knew clearly who had come. “the french family is once again whole, you being our glue.”

Perhaps it was the mans nature to question things that may seem to be miraculous, yes the sultan’s return was surely somehow beneficial to his country, but a part of him couldn’t help but feel that something about this valiant return did not sit well. He was not in good shape, at least from the rumors, but would make a full recovery. Henrik’s contacts within the city were quite reliable, and he felt certain that the sultan’s return was permanent. He wondered exactly what this would mean for the peaceful meetings happening about Bern.

“I suppose this news is great for at least half of us, huh?” He mused aloud.

“anyone who is gone for so long might as well be dead,” théo huffs. he had heard the news, but didn’t know how specifically it pertained to him. although he would imagine if he were in such a situation he would be grateful for his family to be home safe. “my life remains unchanged –– except the whispers are about someone different for once.”

The muted cerulean stream of light which floated through the heavy glass windows along with the undisturbed tranquility roaming through the halls well indicated that it was early in the morning- a bit too early for others to wish to move about the pristine floors which the servants had just cleaned. It was Céline’s favorite time of day as she was away from the eyes of others. Peaceful solitude consisting of simply herself and the glistening, golden harp before her. The organ or any sort of keyed instrument presented the danger of waking the palace with its gusto and triumphant tone, and the mentor found herself craving the sound of a calm piece of composition whereas the violin posed that of passion with a voice that could cut through the air. 

Green gaze drifted to each door and entrance to the room, confirming the fact that she was unaccompanied for the time being. And it was not as if she disliked company, but this time of the morning was when she took pleasure in not having to speak to others. It was when she prepared herself for the day to come. With her small cup of tea in hand which she brewed herself from the kitchen that was now preparing breakfast no doubt, Céline took a sip of the unsweetened beverage before carefully setting the porcelain teacup on the newly waxed floor. With that, she took a relaxed breath, extended her arms around the intricate instrument, and allowed her slender fingers to delicately pluck at the strings in a precise and perfect manner as she always played with. For a moment, she felt all anxieties and stress of the day ahead melt off her skin while the arpeggios swelled in the thin air. 

Footsteps sounding through the northern entrance soon made Céline pause though, bright eyes flickering upwards towards the source of the noice before she stood beside the harp. “Have I woken you? I thought this was a quieter piece…”

the melody seemed to float towards théo. the rhythm was something that he found infections –– a truth that was undeniable. so naturally, he walked towards it. he assumed that it was probably just a servant whose hands somehow learned how to play such a refined instrument –– who else would be up at this ungodly hour? when turning the corner a french face met him and he was surprised, “sleep is for the weak,” théo yawned ironically. he was a sort of insomniac. “you shouldn’t feel as though you need to quiet your passion though for others –– but instead –– should do the opposite.

Eideard couldn’t help but snort lightly, a rather inelegant sound, at being compared to his father. “It can be,” he said, loath to pay his father a compliment. “I like to think I have many fine traits of my own, although perhaps that is my ego speaking.” He smiled easily, charmingly. “And I am sure you are more successful at being poetic than you think. Sometimes our own words have more meaning for others.”

julietta furrowed her eyebrows slightly at the reaction that her comment had garnered. was she going to test it? no. did she want to pry with all her heart? yes. but this very instant didn’t seem like the appropriate time to do so, “ah, the infamous ego. so prevalent in many men here, so you musn’t be so bashful,” she said with humour tinged in her tone. “some say that a portrait is worth a thousand words –– but i would have to fundamentally disagree with that.”

Sometimes he wondered why everyone in this place had to be so noisy. From the servants shouting instructions to one another, ladies giggling in the hallways, heated arguments in the corners. Even the sound of metal plates clinking against each other as a group of guards walked past him irritated the prince. His head was pounding, almost threatening to explode. He knew the culprit all too well. Drowning his sorrows in wine was never a good idea, yet he did not know better. It was all he seemed to be able of doing these days. Drinking wine and escaping his responsibilities. He almost bored himself with the repetitiveness that had become his life. It was not a healthy way of coping, he knew that. Yet it was all he knew. 

With a quick scan of the area, he noticed the door that led to the library. That place would be quiet, he thought to himself as he pushed open the heavy doors that marked the entrance. The silence was euphoric. Spotting a couch in the corner, away from the sunlight beams that invaded the almost-perfect sanctuary, Richard quickly made his way over and took a seat on the plush velvet cushions. He almost drifted to sleep in the quiet that surrounded him, until he heard something being uttered. “Were you speaking to me?” He asked, forcing himself to look up to whoever had joined him.

julietta so happened to enjoy the happenings of court -– perhaps it balanced the quiet side of her personality. she enjoyed living vicariously through the people that she observed and the conversations she overheard, although she could understand how it could become intoxicating if in such an environment for too long. to satisfy her want for personal peace she too enjoyed the library. something about the aroma of the ancient pages of sage words always made julietta feel whole. she opened her mouth until words came floating out of the other’s, “oh –– i was about to ask. are you feeling all right? i’ve never seen someone come into such a wonderful place with such a distressed look.”

Faustina giggled. “I would love to get married, though I must admit I am interested most in the title than the man,” she said. “A title outlives a husband, you know.” She laughed softly. “Goodness, no. I love long, flowing sleeves. Your arms are lovely, what on earth do you mean? The skin is so lovely and smooth.”

julietta laughed. she loved how bluntly faustina spoke of it –– how easily the words flowed from her lips, “of course –– completely understandable.  i believe that your sister did a fine job in that aspect. of course, i endorse you –– anything to prove that italy not only provides the best women with intelligence and self-sufficiency to match beauty, but also to promote our nationalism. it’s a win-win situation.” she shook her head, “i agree –– about the sleeves. i don’t know, do you ever think that there’s a weird shape to the human body? that is sometimes how i feel looking in the mirror.”

filipe couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at her first remark. “she was my best friend, it was a while since we talked- but yes.. some girl indeed.” the prince nodded with a goofy grin on his face. “no” he said rather quickly as he raised his eyebrows. “she wasn’t there… her father said she was residing somewhere else, i couldn’t go visit.” he said now running his fingers over his lips as he looked over at the girl near the window.

julietta smiled as the expression on filipe’s face shifted –– it seemed like genuine happiness which was something she didn’t think she saw around bern often. smiles here were so stiff, but looking at the one on his face made her feel liberated. true happiness tends to have such an affect. “a best friend,” julietta echoed, “must be difficult to compare true companionship to the friendships here. i wish i had one outside of my family, but i’m afraid it’s hard to spare such affection.” julietta furrowed her eyebrows, “that’s unfortunate,” she was hoping for a happy ending, although did those actually ever happen in real life? “you couldn’t visit because her father wouldn’t allow you or because you had to return? nonetheless –– this was a fun story. i enjoyed this, thank you for sharing.”

      “ moi ? ” the woman exclaimed, feigning offence as she grinned at the boy, “ i would never have an ulterior motive, the accusation is absurd. ” she teased, the pair both knowing margurite’s words tended to have more layers to them than what the surface might suggest. the exception was her family of course, perhaps the only people she would extend love to that was not reserved for herself. perhaps as a child she might have hated the boy, held some disdain for the attention a screaming baby had brought away from the youngest daughter of france. but she was a child no more.

      “ that is exactly my point — you were not there mon petit-frère. i was the only object of interest that remained. ” the girl was good at making her own fun, but that was difficult when so few remained behind. “ besides, the staff were getting lazy without nicholas — though it seems that i should not expect much more from the staff here. ”

“how could i forget? margurite du bourbon is practically synonymous with innocent –– angelic –– heavenly,” he let out an airy laugh. although to the general public and plebs it might seem as this way, the siblings knew each other far too well to fall into such a ruse. théo could remember flashes of the arguments where the siblings would not see eye to eye –– although he would say that he was practically indefensible in these situations –– a mere babe during this time. théo smiled, “well, i suppose ‘duty’ calls even though must i remind myself again that i do not serve an important purpose here? we could have been stirring something up in french court. he laughed at her comment about the staff, “who is even taking care of everything right now? i forget that some people exist sometimes.”

Eideard smiled, bowing his head. “Beautifully put, Your Highness,” he said. He gave a light laugh, shaking his head. “Oh, no, he still has no idea – well, perhaps I should say that I have never told him. I doubt that he has not learned of it by now. Very little escapes my father.”

she smiled at his compliment, “i do try to be poetic sometimes. i succeed every now and then, but it can be hard sometimes.” she laughed, “that’s the trait of a good king –– right? maybe you’ve inherited the same trait.”

There was much she wanted to talk about indeed, but more so with Luciano than his siblings. She had plans to strengthen the alliance that had been forged by using her as a pawn, always had plans in mind that would in some way or another benefit Spain. But if she does not even discuss such things with her husband, she certainly won’t with a princess that she used to know.  Part of her wishes she could go back into her lie in and not deal with people, especially not those that had known her when she was young and had still been applying steel to her spine. “Not in particular.” Though she knows that won’t stop Julietta from speaking, anyway. “Why has your sister not yet joined us?”

julietta wouldn’t consider herself considerably well-read when it came to politics, although she was aware of the obvious events. she supported her brother through every decision she was made and was yet to find a fault with luciano’s rule. “you are of the essence of who i remember you to be –– although clearly you’ve been through a lot,” julietta quips as she eyes violeta quickly. “i’m glad that the entire family is back now –– i couldn’t tell you what the delay was –– but i can assure you that we are united and happier. i have heard that your family is complete and if not nearly all in court, how do you feel about that?”

Many of the man here are so boring, but at least they’re good dance parters.” She blushed for a moment, thinking of Luciano. What on earth was that about? She was acting like such a little girl whenever she was around him, or even when she thought about him. “Oh, the sleeves, absolutely. They were so voluminous, they looked like puff pastries.”

“you are correct. many of the men are boring and i feel as though having a husband would save us from the travesty that is floating around,” julietta laughed. she wanted to be grounded –– she could be somewhat contingent on others, which was one of her flaws. she saw the facial expression of faustina change slightly and tilted her head, “would you get a dress like that? unfortunately, i am already insecure about my arms –– so perhaps i won’t be doing a dress like your sister’s.”

Again, the icy blonde raised an eyebrow at the other. A look that was surely familiar to the Prince now after near nine years of receiving the very same look. “What do you take interest in? Besides running your poor sister in law ragged and women, obviously. Is there a cause you care for?” She, for once, was not trying to patronise. Instead, choosing to inject a interest into her tone, genuinely curious about what made the youngest Du Bourbon tick, what did he truly care about? Anastasia had never been short of things she wanted to change, she just had not acquired the power to enact them yet. The Russian flashed a pleased smile as he sat, the closest he’d get to a thank you from her. “You might never be a King, this is true, and thank the Gods for that. But you might be a Prince Consort, no? Even if you truly do live the rest of your days as a bachelor Prince, you still will need to represent your country. Your brother cannot be everywhere at once, you will be an ambassador whether you like the idea or not. It would be a shame to waste your charm and I intend to make use of you, even if the King does not.”

“i take interest in food, some alcohol, maybe even my animals,” théo was only half-joking, although ana brought up an important point. however, the thing is, théo just doesn’t care. he found it hard to care for anything when it seemed to him that everything just ends in disappointment. he was a pessimist at heart. some of the girls he brought around attempted to bring things to his attention, but the attempts were fruitless –– he has a knack to not listen either. perhaps it was a du bourbon trait to be stubborn. “prince consort? you think some other country would be willing to take such a rowdy frenchman as myself?” he laughed although he had to admit he was terrified of being alone despite his tendency to sever ties. “ah –– okay. i get it, i understand,” he sighed, “but it’s hard to act noble when you feel so insignificant.”
