She, of course, is a while longer than she said sheâd be. Distracted by beer tastings, chutney and fresh bread, the smell of the fruit stall not far off. Itâs only when her phone buzzes with a text that sheâs confronted with the time and she doubts heâs still in the toilet nearly twenty minutes later. Doesnât help that her sense of direction is worse than that of a broken compass, so sheâs wandering around the rarely sunny streets of Edinburgh, face fixed on trust google maps. Youâd think after so many years of travelling, sheâd be better at it by now but it would seem it was a built in part of her personality.
Eventually ( after catching her foot on an uneven stone, because grace and Megaira were a nonexistent pair ), she stumbles upon the garden heâd directed her to. Expecting to see him standing outside, texting her to hurry the fuck up. Instead she sees a long line of people all staring at her with expectant grins and for a second she assumes sheâs walked right onto the set of a horror film. Thatâs what she got for watching Get Out at 3am she supposed.
But they each pass her a flower, nudging her along the path even despite her confused protests that sheâs looking for her boyfriend. Got curly hair, looks kinda like Adonis, ya seen him? They give nothing away, and soon Megâs grinning because sheâs made quite the big bouquet for free and sheâs waiting to be scammed out of her money for it. Then her curious lilac eyes land on Filipe and her smile grows wider. âBeen looking for you everywhere.â Dramatic, sheâd been glancing about vaguely for a minute at most but then that was her. âGot quite the haul on my way here though. Dunno what the fuck it was all about. Swear I recognised some of them though, youâve got mates up here right?â
He heard the familiar voice as his cheeks turned red as he turned around to face her. There she was- walking towards him with a rather large bouquet of flowers in her arms. A laugh escaped his lips from the nerves and by simply how funny she truly is. âYeah- I do.. Well yeah they came by to say hiâ He spoke calmly as he gave her a kiss on the cheek before turning to face the view. âWhere did you get lost this time?â A chuckle came along as he looked back down at her.Â
âPretty nice, eh?â He asked, picking up one of the flowers from her collection and smelling it. Of course he wasnât going to explain to her WHY all the flowers- as he couldnât answer her except for the fact that he thought sheâd love it.
He of so casually dropped the flower and he thought it would be now or never. âOopsâ he mumbled before slipping his hand in his pocket while he bent down to put up the flower. With quick movement that was wasnât so harsh he got on one knee and pulled out the box before looking up to the woman in front of him. âMeg... we have been together for what feels like forever... Iâve learned that I love you, that you are such a big part of my life and the reason for my happiness. Will you marry me for more happiness to come?â He asked, hands shaking and stomach rolling from a mixture of feelings.

Butterflies. They filled his stomach as Filipe paced back and forth in the garden. He loved Meg, and Meg loved him so of course his hopes were high that she would say yes. They decided to take a lovely road trip up to Edinburgh to spend some quality one on one time together, something that was very much needed. All he could think about was how perfect timing sat with him as he could now propose and he knew how he would do it- where before he would stay up late thinking of all the possibilities and ways he could do it. Meg was a one of a kind woman- and Filipe wanted his proposal to be the same.Â
With short amount of time- he had to strategically plan this all out before Meg could figure anything out. So, with a call of an old friend who lived close by and his friend having friends (along with some random strangers who wanted to participate) Filipe was able to buy enough flowers for everyone have at least one in hand. Time was short as he left Meg at the fresh market- telling her he had to use the loo and to meet him by the botanical gardens shortly after.Â
The weather was wonderful, a cool breeze brushed his curls and the bright sun caused him to wear shades (and sunscreen as he could feel himself burning with only having a button up short sleeve and shorts on). The flowers were all different- daisies, tulips, roses, some lavender, and poppies to create a brightly colored bouquet. So far everything was going to plan- everyone was here, the flowers were fresh, not a lot of people were in the garden, and last but not least: he had the ring.Â
Everyone started to spread out across the long maze path as Filipe walked to the end that opened out to a large patio that looked over greenery and the antiqued city filled with history. As he chewed on his bottom lip and his fingers fiddled with his shirt as all he could do now was wait.Â
vehcmencias:
she had always been the one to sit and watch others have fun, while she waited around. it was just not like her, to do any daring things. at least, not as daring as singing in front of a full room. she always doubted herself, even when she had gone through more pressing matters before. âfilipe, por favor - ..â but a smile still remained on her lips, knowing one way or another it would end up happening. she knew her family and how persistent they could come to be. âyou know iâd do anything for you, except singing, of course.â a small laugh left her lips, knowing her wording could be taken against her very quickly. âi was on my phone, so donât worry. there is nothing more satisfying that catching up on insta posts, but um â .. anything would be just fine iâm not picky, primo.â
âYes yes, I know of course.â He nodded off with a smile on his face. He truly loved his dear cousin, they have always been rather close and it was nice to have so many family members around his age. âOkay good- as long as you werenât bored then thatâs all that matters- anything! Got it!â He said as he drummed his hands on the table before turning around and making his way over to the bar. A pint would suit him well as he got Ida a Negroni- something that he thought tasted well and wasnât fancy. With a simple little conversation with the bartender about the damn weather, it wasnât long until Filipe was making his way back over to the table, hands full with glasses. âIâm thinking shots later tonight when more people join. What do you think?â
dutyngrace:
Sebastian blinked at the person in front of him, a sense of familiarity in his gaze. He was still in his clothes from the previous night, but he still looked good in the designer clothes. âTell me- did we make out last night?â He ran his hand through his hair. âI feel like we didâŠif notâŠwould you like to?â He grinned, only partly joking.Â
âTo be quite honest, I am not too sure if we did or not mate.â Filipe chuckled, only trying to be a loon with his friend. It was a long night of drinking last night âWell here is the thing.. I love you and everything- honestly- yet Iâm in love with somebody else.â Filipe teased, a grin on his face as he sat up from the couch he crashed on. âI do believe we played ping pong on the pool table last night at the bar but I could be wrong.âÂ
Iâm back!! I got all of my wifi fixed, got moved in, and new tires on my car!! YAY!Â
Cool! So Iâll slowly getting back to replies and if anyone wants to plot or anything Iâll be on all day <3Â
Hey so I have to go on full hiatus until Sunday because Iâm still moving into my house and itâs pretty old, apparently the inlets and outlets arenât flowing correctly or something (??) so theyâre coming Friday to do an inspection.
Wish me luck and Iâll keep you up to date â€ïž

âlook, i love you and all but letâs clear something up.â she broke from his embrace for a moment, staring him straight in the eyes, as if something of importance was about to be said. âjust because itâs your birthday doesnât means iâll sing, you know i canât - ..â a small laugh escaped her lips, thinking of the whole ordeal. she didnât even sing in the shower, let alone she would do so in front of strangers or well, her cousin and his friends. âi think iâll be just fine watching you sing, iâll cheer you up. promise.â she followed his steps, back to where she originally sat. she had never been the type of liking this type of parties. house parties? sure ââ they were intimate enough and if she ever felt out of place, she could just step aside and let everyone be. but clubs and the like, it was not her scene. âi think an hour passed, maybe not, maybe half. i donât know?â
his eyebrows raised as she broke the embrace, he blinked for a second as she spoke- his lips slighting raising into a smile. âLook.. look, lookie here missy- I will get you on that stage. Even if it is after hours- weâre going to get on that stage and were going to sing our off key hearts out.â He stated, his head nodding off as he placed the cake on the table. âBut Iâm really glad you could make it- it means a lotâ He said, pulling her under his shoulder into a side hug. âWow thatâs a long time- what have you been doing?â he asked, looking around the bar before looking back to her. âAlso! Iâm going to get a drink- can I get you anything?â

âoh dear, iâm afraid this was his last clean dummy.â a small laugh escaped her lips as she retrieved the item from the man, thankful for his help. she had made sure to pack the necessary for their small trip to the cafĂ©, but she had not foreseen that this would happen. they were not far from home, so it had only been the basics with her. a pair of diapers, a change of clothes, wipes but somehow ââ somehow, she forgot to bring another dummy. âthank you, really. i hope heâs not grumpy on the way back home.â she placed the dummy on the table before glancing over at her son, who seemed oblivious of the scene he caused. âwell, this little guy is euan and apparently he likes to throw things.â
âit is not a problem at all.â he smiled over to the mother before his attention was drawn back to euan. âwhy hello there euan! i hope youâre being good to your mum.â he said, raising his eyebrows at the child who let out a laugh and showed a small smile. âhow old is he?â he knew that he should just keep walking, but there wasnât a lot of times that filipe got to see babies and he really did not want to keep walking. there were times that he was so grateful that he was dating megaira due to the fact he was able to stop with her and gush over a child- yet it really look like she was the one gushing and not him.Â
ofaphrcdite:
âThatâs bollocks! We both know Iâve got at least thirty other photos just like it âcos you always give âem back.â She snatches it back with a laugh then rolls onto her side to tuck the polaroid into the drawer by her bed for now. Will find a place for it later. Megaira hums thoughtfully then as she rolls back, rests her head on his chest, âYeah alright then, should be fun. Havenât been diving in ages.â She had the luxury of being able to make her own schedule, to go wherever she wanted and it was a relaxed lifestyle that suited her just fine. âScotland sounds nice, nightlife up in Edinburgh is always sick and I think we deserve a bit of a wild weekend. Well if itâs karaoke night we have to go there, so I can destroy the birthday boy.â She grins.
He adjusted himself when Meg rested her head on his chest, a pillow was not under him and he could fully see her now. His fingers ran through her purple hair and a small smile rested on his face as he could do anything to help it- it was so natural, the smile that is.âItâll be fun- maybe we can escape for a few days and have some alone time to do whatever.â He spoke softly, it was something he did when he became comfortable. The excitement grew inside him as he thought off all the places they could go in Greece- all things they could do like act like tourists and wear brightly colored shirts and put zinc on their noses. âOh I do too, love me some wild weekends.â He grinned just before letting out a laugh. âOkay, so we both know youâre a better singer and know words way better than I do... BUT I am a way better dancer.âÂ

â ( @filipevargx )
the shop had been particularly busy that day. flooded with various customers, most of them, thankfully, refraining from stupid questions â she had been having a moderately good day. ( she hadnât been joking when she told mel the book trade wasnât what it used to be, in spite of the joking tone. money was tight. she had her grandmotherâs inheritance, yes â but she didnât like to live off what her family had given her, even if she had always been closer with her grandmother. she liked living on what she made, by her own hand, her own wares. it was why she hadnât moved out once delia had, it was why she was doing her laundry at laundromat because it was cheaper, it was she was shivering in the night, under multiple blankets, because it was too much to keep the heat on in winter. )Â
sighing, she glanced down at the running total in her book, lips pursing when the bell above the door clanked. â there was a slight smile on her lips, thinking it perhaps, mel or delia or meg, but it faded once she saw who it was. filipe. ( it had been six years since she last saw her baby brother. six years. she would be lying if she said she hadnât⊠wondered or thought of what was happening with them. she knew meg had fallen into something with her brother. assumed that mateus was happily still married to sadiye, that otavio was off⊠doing whatever he usually was, getting into trouble. her baby sister was probably breaking hearts, left right and center. delia, despite her best efforts, let tidbits of tomas slip past. but just because she wondered, didnât mean she cared. â her family had made their choices, just as carolina had made hers. she was done with the. ) she leant back in her seat behind her desk, arms crossing over her chest. âwell look what the cat dragged in.â he looked well and at least, that was something. carolinaâs chin raised. âweâre closed. you need to go.â
After six years, Filipe got used to not seeing or hearing from his sister. He knew she was okay of course- with Delia and Meg being close to her- but never anything directly from her. With Filipe just having his birthday and all of his close friends and family being there, and him going to propose to Meg within just a few days- he realized there was something missing. It took a while for him to realize what it was of course, yet the moment he did he decided to leave the film shop and take a stroll on the crisp night over to his sisters book shop. Of course he has never been in there- has passed it a few times and has seen her through the window but nothing more than that. After thirty minutes of walking across the large city, he had to take a deep breath at the front door and shake out the nerves that were drowning him alive.Â
What would he say? What should he do? Should he just walk back to his car? He left his camera in the shop he should probably go get that back. No. He thought- I have to talk to her. Another deep breath exhaled out between his lips before he opened the door, a little bell going off which caused his sister to look up. It was so nice to see her this close- it flowed into him like a volcano- of all the memories of them younger, of all the times they laughed and how itâs been so damn long and how he truly missed her. A small laugh that could have been mistaken to be a cough came out of him as he raised his eyebrows. He felt like a deer in front of headlights as he froze for only a second before automatically walking over to the âopenâ sign. She must have forgotten to flip it because the âopenâ side was still facing the window. âDo you want me to flip it over? Mustâve forgotten to flip it.â He stated. Of course he wasnât trying to be a pain- it was a natural thing that he had no control of, along with not thinking before saying and a few others that could either make this interaction got horribly wrong or with her kicking him out.. He was hoping neither.Â
pandaemonius:
he paid the cabbie with an easy smile before stepping out onto the pavement, jacket pulled tight around him. demetrios had left work early that evening, quickly stopping off at home to change and pick up the ( somewhat ) neatly wrapped gift on his coffee table, before making his way to the pub. birthdays were usually a chore for him: his family had never really celebrated them growing up - after all, you didnât achieve birthdays, they just happened to you. but he liked filipe, thought the man was perfect for his younger sister, and theyâd got on almost immediately. âhey - there he is!â dem called out with a laugh, making his way across the room and clapping the portuguese on the shoulder. leaning over the counter, he asked for a pint; his grin wide. âhappy birthday, mate. how does it feel be a year older?â
a large grin planted on his face as he heard the familiar voice. âAye, I feel the same so far.... Iâll probably feel older in a few hours.â he joked, hoping that tonight would be a grand one with a bunch of laughter and a bunch of pints. âIâm glad you could make it- I have a table set over thereâ he pointed to a larger round table with a few high tops neatly around it. âIda is here but sheâs in the loo- if you want to drop your things off then by all means.â filipe nodded for whatever reason just as his and demetriosâs pints came. âWell Iâll grab these and just follow you over.â he shrugged, picking up both large glasses and started walking his way over to the table.Â
rebclhearts:
Her brows quirked up and down, head tilting to the side in admittance that he was right. She was sure it would get easier the more she worked, but she was likely to still be talking about her honeymoon in the coming weeks. Deliaâs eyes went wide at his news, stopping in her tracks. âWhat?â She exclaimed in surprise, mouth pulling up into a wide grin. âTook you long enough. I was starting to think youâd wait another year until you finally popped the question.â She teased, though truthfully she was happy for her cousin-in-law. After being so welcomed by Filipe into his family, she wanted nothing but the same happiness for him. âHave you got a ring yet? Can I see it?â
Filipe couldnât help but smile as Delia reacted. âWell Iâm in town for a month- which is a little longer than normal- so I figured now is the best time.â Filipe shrugged, scratching the back of his head and looking over at her. âSo I have bought the ring but I need to pick it up. I got it in an antique store over in the Cayman Islands and Iâm getting it fixed up at the jewelry store over by 5th st.â He said as they walked out of the little cafe. â... Do you want to go get it with me on our way to the pub?â He asked opening the door for her, the crisp night air flowing into the small building as they exited.Â
idavitorias:
sheâd been sitting on the same spot for almost half an hour. boredom had definitely taken a toll on her, the salt shaker before her completely assaulted by the girl, the table sheâd been in a complete mess. she hated waiting, far too impatient. she would never understand why it was, that she always got to places either far too early or far too late. but there she sat, all for her cousin. she saw him enter, his silhouette far too easily recognizable. though, he did not seem to notice her. she scurried by his side and sat on one of the stools, a smile spreading on her lips. âwhat? are you afraid no one came to see you?â.
A smile grew on his face as he noticed the familiar curly hair. âWell I didnât know if you were going to come early or late- just due to never knowing with you.â he teased as he opened his arms to give her a hug. âAre you pumped to sing your heart out?!â He asked, putting a fist in the air a large grin on his face. âSo where are you sitting?â it was just a quick look around the room before he noticed her stuff sitting at a high top. Dancing to the music, he picked up his pint and the box with the birthday box and carried it over to the table. âSo how long have you been here?â
â ida & filipe ;
ida: tell me about it.
ida: i'm sorry, really.
ida: merda.
ida: you are doing something, primo?
ida: god you are old!
filipe: not funny.
filipe: porra.
filipe: see ya tonight.
