It's 2026 and St**ky shippers are still coming into Sam's tags to post content about that ship. It's beyond time to give this behavior a rest. You don't need to talk about Sam or any ship with him and either of them. Please just continue to ship St**ky, and leave Sam out of it. All of those relationships are fanon. None of them are more "real" than the other. No Sam fan wants to read about how you think Sam's relationships with them, even just friendships, is "lesser" in some way. These relationships just happened at different points. We certainly don't want to read about how Steve and Bucky see Sam as a "replacement," and how limited you write Sam in your headcanons. He's a "therapist" because of a support group from years ago, but Steve isn't seen as one for running a support group. Even the so-called Sam "fans," and the so-called multishippers do this.

Also, there are some of those shippers who come into his tags to vilify Sam in one way or another. I remember those "what if Sam was secretly Hydra" posts back when he first appeared. He in no way "forced" a meeting with Steve. Steve is the one who started the relationship between them. He has not been ableist, a bully, or abusive to Buck at all. Also, Sam and Bucky have a relationship outside of Steve. Yes, he's their mutual friend, but they formed a relationship beyond that. It's weird seeing claims they are only co-workers, they have only know each other a few months, or have only being friends a few months. None of that is true.

Anyways, you aren't "oppressed" for shipping St**ky, and some of you need to take your own advice and stay in your own tags/use anti tags and censor the names/ships on Twitter. Go enjoy content for that ship, and leave Sam alone.

Let me add that Sam fans do not care how codependent you want/wish sticky to be. They weren't, contrary to what some folks believe, and that certainly wasn't the case when it came to their "modern day" interactions. We also do not care about the tired "Sam should have stayed Falcon" takes. A title change is hardly a new concept, so it's beyond time to move on from this discussion.

Another thing, why do some sticky shippers feel the need to consume fanon content for Sam's ships with Steve or Bucky? No Sam fan or anyone who likes the ships want to hear backhanded compliments on fanworks, or how you hate the ships, but you're going to read fics or watch fanvids for them. You could just not bother. All of this is fanon and supposed to be for fun.

Also, Disney/Marvel do not care about some slash ship. The narrative that they were "scared" of some fanon slash ship is ridiculous. This weird obsessive behavior over your personal fanon doesn't belong in Sam's tags.

i still can’t understand how bucky stans can be ok with his storyline in thunderflops, considering how we left him in at the end of tfatws. he was smiling and joking with sam and his family and he seemed genuinely happy. isn’t that what you’d want for him as a fan? for him to be happy and finding some sense of peace? because that’s what he got in tfatws.

it’s almost like they want him to be miserable so that they can keep treating him like a baby and never be held responsible for his actions. or maybe it’s the fact that they simply can’t stand that he was working a long side the main character who just so happens to be black?

there’s this weird consensus on tiktok that sam feels guilty for suing bucky and the thunderflops or was forced and it really makes me itch because y’all will do anything but take a black character serious and we know that for a fact because you can’t do it with their actors either

if we had an entire show about how sam fought to be CAPTAIN AMERICA after the title was handed to him from the original cap himself, and his entire motive in civil war with steve was being against government control, why would he feel guilty for suing for the team name especially after he was just asked to restart and recruit the avengers?

why would be be FORCED to sue? who would force him? and it’s funny that in this mystical land sam was forced to sue and he’s so guilty but bucky gets to pout in the avengers tower and pretend he has leverage over the CIA after barely being forced to join this goofy team

he isn’t even suing them, which is the most ridiculous thing. he’s filing for copyright/trademark over the team name. he could then sue them once granted the rights, but honestly sam is doing the most basic legal protection, which—as stated above—is in line with his character’s historical actions. it’s also not petty, not vindictive, not rude, or whatever people also want to paint it as. sam is either spineless or cruel, no in between. and with this, it’s simply an act to say “oh, you want to play around? okay, let me get steps ahead of you”. as he should. like are we kidding here. even if you like the thunderflops and root for them, you have to admit that, in universe at the very fucking least, it’s a bad look to play superhero government cia shill, and to do it with a stolen title at that. so why the fuck wouldn’t captain america, the guy leading and putting the avengers back together, push back against that? that’s too logical tho, isn’t it.

now, i personally think all of this is stupid and all of it never should’ve happened, and it’s all lazy, pandering writing that, especially if the rumours are true, amounts to basically nothing but more undeserved and disproportionate blowback and antiBlack racism thrown at the character. and the cultivation of it in the fandom as a part of the dominant culture to just “accept” this narrative, which again is totally built on shit people have made up, is so nasty and honestly sad. yall would rather make shit up to put that white man in the victim box even more and perpetuate antiBlackness with regard to the character and the actual real Black fans (and hey, let’s throw the actual real actor playing the character in too) instead of having a real discussion about what this actually means in universe and for the characters. there are layers as to why all of this sucks, but the first step really is just looking at what’s in the damn movie and yall can’t even do that.
