I've been imagining stories and writing them since I was around 10, starting with fanfics like a lot of people, except I didn't know it was called fanfics 😭

I'm now mainly writing fantasy, but I've started with polars and romances

I like reading fantasy, historical fiction, dystopia, and romance

Among my favourite books are Six Of Crows, The Cruel Prince, Hunger Games, Red White & Royal Blue

My favourite shows are Shadow & Bone, My Lady Jane, Bridgerton, Lockwood & Co, Heartbreak High

My favourite films are Pride and Prejudice (2005), Mamma Mia, Bridget Jones's Diary, Sinners, Dune, The Amazing Spider Man

Would anyone like a fantasy political book focused on women?

I am writing a royal fantasy about inheritance and misogyny and patriarchal society through the povs of six women in different positions and, like any author, I sometimes doubt myself and my writing.

I am still very much not done with this project but I thought I could share some of my doubts and insecurities on here since my blog is about writing. And I'm actually a bit scared that people would not be interested by my story or that it would not reach an audience who would be. But I also am really anxious by nature so it doesn't help.

I could totally post more about this project if anyone is interested tho! And I am open to any sort of suggestions some of you may have!

I know I usually post about my writings but there is literally "fangirl" in my username so it's time for me to lean more on that part.

I interact a lot with the ASOIAF fandom even though I don't contribute personally to it, and like everyone in this fandom I have loved AKOTSK and the Targaryen men in this era. But am I the only one who's a bit weirded out by all the incestuous OCs people are writing for one of the least incestuous era of the Targaryens?

Don't get me wrong, I love this part of the fandom and I love to see how creative people are with imagining characters and how they fit into this part of the universe. But it feels very wrong to see people leaning into the "incestuous Targaryen" vibe for their ocs or self insert fics, especially in an era where the Targaryens were actually not so incestuous.

I mean, this is already a big problem in the overall fandom, whether it is from HOTD/F&B era or the main ASOIAF books/GOT, but I think it is especially weird in the AKOTSK era. Like no, Baelor would not fall in love with his niece??? Much less Maekar's daughter, considering the bond between the two.

I think it is about time we stop normalising incestuous relationships in this fandom because it is doing more harm than good. Like no, even for Targaryens, relationships between brother and sister or uncle and niece or even between cousins are not normal and should not be normalised or romanticised. So please people stop contributing to this!

I've lacked motivation recently in uni after a long Christmas break and I realised I could just tell myself that I'm studying to improve my writing and worldbuilding. Motivation is back ✨️
