The other OCs I have posted in the past will still exist! But they’re more like extras with backstories or spinoff characters. Their bios will likely be taken off the character page to avoid clutter, but they will remain in my Toyhou.se.

As such, changes will happen with the information in the blog links, and consequently this pinned post will reflect those changes in the future!

*(The blog name may or may not change as Splat3 no longer takes place in Inkopolis, but I’ll still think about that! Til then, feel free taking a look around!)

🩷 Agent 8b Nate 🩷

With Agent 8a Vanessa being a warrior princess, and Agent 7 Kane being one of (former) captains of the Octarian Army... Agent 8b Nate could be described as "ordinary". He worked in the weapons department of the Octarian Army. While he was hardly on the field, he has more technical knowledge about weapons than the other agents. Among the agents, he seems to be the only one genuinely interested in Sheldon's rambles and even chimes in! After getting rescued by Vanessa barely surviving being almost fully sanitised in the events of Octo Expansion, he learns a life outside of the Octarian Army... and unlearns years of doubt and self-hatred with this new life.

Strawberry, but make it deep sea 🍓✨️

Histioteuthis heteropsis, also known as strawberry squid, get their common name from the berry-like appearance of their bright-red bodies speckled with small light organs called photophores. These clever cephalopods use their crimson coloration and luminescent photophores to mask their silhouettes and hide from predators like sperm whales, dolphins, tunas, swordfish, and sharks that may be prowling the waters below.

In their natural habitat, strawberry squid are almost always observed in an oblique position with the larger eye facing slightly upward and the smaller eye facing downward. The big left eye looks upward to spot shadows cast by prey in the dimly lit waters above. The squid’s right eye searches for flashes of bioluminescence produced by prey or predators lurking in the dark depths. This squid is sometimes called the cockeyed squid for the remarkable difference in size between the two eyes.

As for where I have been... I have been getting into working on other OCs a lot more! Ones with original universes of their own.

One of them is an edutainment-style art/webcomic project, however I have not gotten enough time to work on the webcomic itself.

And the remaining time... I have gotten deep into Final Fantasy 2 in general which has inspired me a great deal! I think the main character may have even inspired Kane's personality. It's such an obscure title for being part of the main FF titles, but it is among my favourites!

Hmmm I have been rethinking a lot of things regarding character dynamics as well as their personalities. Rambles up ahead!

Agent 4 Terry. Probably the only person who has no issues whatsoever and will never change. Calm sweetheart himbo type. The only change that will happen is he will likely not be in a relationship with Nate anymore, rather maintain a close friendship. Which means... retcon? Which means he's single again. I think that is the term. Also, he would egg Nate on with his gremlin outbursts (like fanboying over Big Man).

Agent 8b Nate. I also wanted to explore more of Nate's trauma, I feel like I never explored much about the background of him being partly sanitised as well as the things leading up to it. I feel like he would be hostile to an extent at first, and horribly self-loathing, but he starts to warm up eventually. Probably going the Collei route for this (Genshin).

Agent 4 x 8:

As far as ships go... I still like Terry and Nate, but for the most part the ship felt rushed, so I may revert them back to a close friendship. They will still be roommates, though! Mostly what will change is their status only.

I think it will also allow them to clearly show their differences by focusing on it rather than a romantic relationship they may have. Nate the cute fanboy gremlin who's doing his best to work on trauma, Terry the chill cowboy bestie who deals with everything in a laidback way.

Agent 7 Kane. Kane on the other hand would be much calmer. He will still have an awful temper, but only when truly provoked rather than his default mood. By default, he could be rather mild-mannered and a good friend to turn to for advice. Terry also gives good advice, but Kane seems to have a deeper insight given he is technically the eldest of the group.

Agent 3 Prima. Prima never had much development since I kept her tethered to characteristics and tropes I had imposed on her, so she may end up having a lot of changes. As of now, I have no real direction for her personality yet that I feel would mesh well with the rest of the group. Lots of changes to be done! Time to turn and face the strange!

Agent 8a Vanessa. Vanessa's foundation is pretty okay. Solid, even! However she was not given much chance to bounce off of people to let that shine as I did not have much to go for with Prima (supposedly a duo with her). The best ones she was able to bounce off of were Kane and Nate, but they have their own thing going on separately. She's actually among my favourite personalities, as she is a ninja princess with direct ties to Octavio! And her mum is cool, too.

Neo Agent 3 Ezra and Little Buddy Masu. Since they are the newest OCs, nothing will be changed about them. A subtle change had been implemented anyway, that Ezra was supposedly much more serious and unfeeling. Now it's not that he's serious and intentionally unfeeling, but he is just not familiar with social cues given his past background as an assassin and not going with groups. He is great at communicating with salmonids, though.
