Gonna remind myself of this daily
i think they have a crush on each other
"armand isn't owed an apology after all the shit he did to louis, i can't believe they made him do that"
hey guys? Do we maybe think that Armand's tit-for-tat mentality, and the way he's been tallying up his and everyone else's sins against each other is a problem? Is it maybe possible that Louis managing to find empathy for Armand in the face of the monstrosity being done to him, and that radical act of kindness and honesty (about the ways he unintentionally hurt Armand) moving Armand so much that it nearly breaks him, is idk a major theme of this whole season?
you know, sorta like how Lestat was holding onto his feelings of betrayal about the book, and all it did to serve him was make him absolutely miserable and lonely and push him into the arms of someone actively harming him. And how it was only after he let that go, and helped Louis even though he still thought that Louis didn't give a shit about him, that they were able to connect again and be happier than we've ever seen them.
Or like how Louis was able to look past his initial feelings of revulsion and betrayal about the Sophia lie, and offered comfort and a space to speak honestly, and how that granted him a deeper understanding of Lestat, and ultimately strengthened their bond.
Are we seeing the pattern here? How they're breaking the curse of loneliness when they stop seeing each other as monsters, and extend a bit of empathy, even when it's hard or not deserved? How addressing the gaping wound behind the actions might open the door to healing for both parties?
not only that, itâs a lesson for the viewer as well. stop trying to figure out whoâs the abuser, whoâs the victim, who deserves what, who doesnât deserve what.
theyâre all monsters.
look past your boring christian morality and see the human inside the monster. stop judging, start empathizing.
otherwise youâre going to have a bad time watching this show.
armand wasnât entitled to anything from louis. but wasnât it beautiful that, in the midst of all that horror, louis still found some part of armand worth looking at?
isnât that the entire point of watching a show like this?
guys Iâm so serious I need people to stop treating Daniel Molloy like he just exited the womb and the writers forced him to be mean in TVL. Did we forget the paper bag story? Him alienating both of his children?
This dude is not a good person and we need to stop moralising these vampires bro. Theyâre vampires. He can be your pookie and also a proven misogynist. Heâs evil.
i need delainey hayles to get every award in existence. claudia you are so very important to me <3
Lestat saying âYou should take advantage of the head startâ to Alex in the start of Montreal is foul đ
Thinking about this tweet big time
Lestat: and then Armand appeared out of nowhere and started reading me a gay little notes app apology. He would not shut up about my vibrant personality and beautiful golden locks and so I got bored and I took a blood shower (I had a blood setting installed on my tour bus shower!!!) which is a practical and sane thing to do. I whipped my dick out in front of him and he was sooooo into it. Then I threw my hair into a messy bun and told him to kill himself.
Whoever is listening realising they went bankrupt so they could listen to this shit:
You two hug it out for her too?
RIP to the failures being released on Sunday, welcome to my laptop đ«Ąđđ„â
ngl i was genuinely expecting something like this
âWe are lucky to be getting any DM at all. They do not exist until QotDâ The thing is personally Iâd rather we didnât get any dm at all if this is how their introduction would be to the general audience. I was definitely not expecting them to kiss and fall in love right away. What bothers me is how fast we get confirmation of their being in a relationship without any build up to it at all and it happened entirely offscreen. Without even seeing why armand loves daniel in the first place, because he stalked him for 52 years? We havenât even seen evidence daniel loves armand as much before we got confirmation of a relationship. I would have liked it so much better if they revealed all this in a time where they can actually have focus and if that was in season 4 or 5 that wouldâve been fine with me. They deserve actual care to their story.
I think this introduction makes perfect sense. Daniel being resistant at first and then joining Armand in whatever heâs doing tracks with Danielâs character. He missed his maker, here he is.
When Daniel says heâs seeing someone, it doesnât necessarily mean theyâre already deeply in love and we just didnât see it. Theyâve just been working together.
And did it happen off-screen or did it happen in the background? Because those are different things. The implication is that weâre not going to go back and get any additional context behind whatâs been happening between them and that just doesnât add up considering we havenât seen what Armand is up to. Rolin said numerous times Armandâs arc is incomplete. Specifically, there is more context to the Larry scene. So we are revisiting that, why wouldnât we revisit anything else? Weâre going to learn about what Armand is doing and Daniel has been with Armand for a lot of it.
Waiting till season 4 for past!DM makes sense to me. We bring them back together, we establish what their dynamic looks like now, as tumultuous as it is, and then we build on that. We get the non-book readers used to the idea of them together, because it is a strange concept if you donât have prior context. Theyâve been hammering home Armand turning Daniel in a fit of rage for wrecking his marriages. You need to allow time for that to subside.
Armand is in love with Daniel but we do not know how Daniel feels yet. Having him fall back in love with Armand around the same time as we learn about their real past just makes sense to me. Itâll be season 4 though. Season 5 seems like too long a wait.
They do deserve care being put into their story, I agree. I just donât think that hasnât been the case so far. Itâs a slow burn and weâre missing a whole lot of context right now. I do get where this worry is coming from, but Episode 7 will likely have some answers as to the current nature of their relationship. And season 4 will be QotD, which is a novel with an ensemble case. This was still Lestatâs season, so it would make sense that most of the screen time would be his.
