I've recommended this one before, but for all the non-human vertebrate likers out there... the art of animal drawing
the desire to engage in my hobbies leaving my body as soon as I have the day off even though I was looking forward to it all week
adults every generation when the children that were born 10 years ago don't know what was going on 15 years ago
"my 10 year old doesn't know what CDs are!"
have you told her what a CD is? do you use CDs? has she ever seen one? then how the fuck is she going to know what a CD is. are you fucking stupid. im going to kill you
"my son tried to introduce me to Green Day's music after finding it out on youtube" he knew about Green Day for one day and immediately told you about it but you let that young boy reach puberty without telling him about the best worst pop punk band of all time. i am on his side.
"monogamy isn't common in nature blah blah no other ape does this and it's possessive and unnatural blah blah it's unrealistic to keep a healthy marriage for 2/3rds of your life blah blah"
don't care didn't ask plus after i get married we will die in each other's arms through the strength of our commitment and love
love when people go "but monkeys do this-" do i look like a mfing monkey to you
"this happens in nature-" great! but this is a civilization
monkeys don't share milkshakes with curly straws on dates or write poetry to each other across thousands of miles. so while they are cool little dudes and dudettes, i will not be taking relationship advice from them.
And BY THE WAY humans aren't monkeys on a biological scale. We are one of few species that have visible menstruation and concealed ovulation. And that means how we have evolved psychologically for reproduction is entirely different than 99.9% of the rest of animals and basing your whole life on the rest of the animal kingdom will be like thinking you can survive in Antarctica without any clothes because penguins do it.

The beast looks in horror as it sees the weight of its sins
friendly reminder that the age of technology is coming to an end and a new age of blood magic and dark rituals will take its place
man if I saw an elf nobody would be able to stop me
From what
nobody would be able to stop me
"live every day like it's your last": scary. weirdly foreboding. not a good thought process if you get anxious easily. stressful. so much pressure that it loops back around to making you do nothing. "live every day like it's your FIRST": everything becomes fascinating. renews the excitement of discovering things for the first time again. makes you feel like exploring stuff. #mywisdom
Prometheus (Jean Delville, 1907)
Your nervous system is ancient. Your environment is brand new. That mismatch explains a lot.
just remembered this statue full of bees I saw a few years ago outside a junk shop
