yyaayy redraw after year and few months later Gee, almost funny how the old art doesnt have the headcanon of whipping as a punishment (more about it lower). New one is a bit less expressive but the composition on the old one was shit either way haha. So about the headcanon. It kinda came out of no where, it was supposed to be less wild, but a friend of mine suggested it and i thought 'wait that slaps'. As we know, Amity was meant to join the Emperor's coven and dedicated her whole life to it. As we saw, Belos is a brutal dictator, and hates witches, so its only reasonable he'd have some sick 1600s idea of punishments, which is whipping. I thought that Odalia would be very much informed about those insights from emperor's coven from Lilith, and would prepare Amity for both Emperor's coven discipline AND the punishments (Therefore Hunter, Lilith, Steve and others from the coven are also marked with those if they fail a lot) Just some examples of why it could be canon: Hunter has many scars all around him, and it was meant that he's fully covered in clothes, including face, so its not visible. Everyone in the coven is fully covered. When Lilith lost a grudgby game to Eda she lost her shit cuz she 'cant go back empty handed again'. Hunter was ready to bury himself cuz he failed to get the titan's blood, for the same reasons. Amity was fully okay with freaking cut open a living being just to prove she's right, and then caused so much trouble with school getting locked down, covered in plants and abomination, she was full ready to kill Luz right there and then JUST TO KEEP HER BADGE OF TOP STUDENT Imagine for a second how Odalia took the news about Amity no longer being the top student. Plus her breakdown at the covention when she was 'caught' cheating. Girl was not gonna get patted on the head.
