Every time a US election rolls around there is a social media disinformation campaign bankrolled by people with interests that align with far-right politics and it is genuinely shocking how few people actually catch on to it and how many parrot right-wing propaganda spread online through the use of bot farms. It has been 10 fucking years since this sort of propaganda was used (and proven to have been used by the federal courts) to sway a presidential election and not one thing has changed. You can reblog the Garfield “you are not immune to propaganda” image all you fucking want but until you internalize that social media is THE way propaganda is spread nowadays, and not just to your uncle on Facebook, you are not gonna make it! The internet is not some safe haven for you to retreat into when the real world’s too much. It’s part of the real world. It is the direction mass media has moved in for the last two decades. Please use your brains.

Posted about right wing anti-argentina propaganda on my story and ex-coworker reposted a cherry-picked infographic about all of argentina's worst crimes saying it was the only country in latam that (checks notes) massacred its indigenous population and had a president say something racist once. Also that it's a nation full of nazis. No sources in the infographic btw

I would like you all to please examine why, during a time when a far-right president backed by US interests is selling Argentina's natural resources to foreign companies and individuals, we would be seeing campaigns online painting it as an uniquely racist and corrupt country. I do not think I am mistaken in tracing parallels to imperialist media painting "Middle Eastern" countries as uniquely homophobic and misogynistic for the same reasons.

Le sirve al yanki promedio que ya no le atrae el mundial y está medio dolido, subirse al tren del odio anti-argentino. Porque tiene que tapar con algo la vergüenza de, ellos sí, haber movido influencias para quitarle la roja a su jugador estrella y aún así perder tan mal. Tienen que olvidar cómo el mundo cuestionó el racismo y que la selección de Irán tuvo que jugar en condiciones de desigualdad. Le sirve el hate anti-argentina al europeo racista que sí le duele el Mundial, que quería seguir, y que todavía siente que el fútbol lo invadieron los latinos.

Le sirve el hate al latino que, impotente ante la opresión del blanco y enseñado por generaciones que las derrotas son siempre por derecha pero los triunfos cuestionables, se une a él y ataca al hermano porque es lo único que puede arañar. Aunque sea para quitarse la bronca.
