Rest is so so so important, and it’s easy to discredit your rest as a waste of time. But it’s never a waste of time to improve yourself through rest. And while you rest, you build the skills that will make you do amazing things when you’re well rested
"it would be so good if it was good" will haunt you but "it's extremely good, except for the one or two parts which are so bad it's genuinely kind of insulting" will straight up drive you insane
one has you making posts like "okay but if the author UNDERSTOOD the POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS of the story they were telling, and leaned into it, it would actually be a really interesting exploration of..."
the other has you pacing your bedroom at one in the morning going "why. why would you ever in a million years do it like that. genuinely what possible thought process was involved. was the writer possessed by a fucking ghost or something."

not all character interpretations are valid some of you are sexist
not all character interpretations are valid some of you are racist
The older i get the more i understand why some people become obsessed with privacy, not because they’re hiding something, but because being constantly perceived starts to feel spiritually exhausting.
its interesting to me how peoples desperation to delegitimize anything they dont agree with by implying its christian in nature has resulted in people saying things like hating pedophiles, having feminist or anti-racist beliefs, or Not Supporting Sex Traffickers are all inherently rooted in christian ideology. which is incorrect to an almost unfathomable degree
the "those 'harmless' long-suffering lonely pedophiles are actively grooming children on the internet" problem: who does youth sexual liberation benefit?
before I get into this here is a screenshot to grab your attention:
this is from the NAMBLA and LGBT Politics section of The International Lesbian and Gay Association’s Suspension from the United Nations, 1993-1994, by Tyler Carson, currently available on outhistory.org. this digital exhibit details how the International Lesbian and Gay Association was expelled from the UN's Economic and Social Council due to the widespread fallout of right-wing news outlets discovering that the North American Man/Boy Love Association, a pedophile advocacy organisation that sought to abolish age of consent laws, was an active part of the ILGA. do any of these points sound familiar?
in light of isuggestforcefem pedophileposting again: it's purposeful that for all that many Woke Pedophile "youthlib" "advocates" talk about youth liberation and child advocacy in tandem with their defence of pedophiles and pedophilia, and for all they are keen to talk about abuse that takes place within the family structure, they never discuss the global epidemic of child abuse via the internet. they advocate for youth liberation on the internet, they encourage children to interact with them while openly out as pedophiles on the internet, and yet there's nary a peep about how easy it is for pedophiles to gain access to children who they happily abuse on the internet and have since the internet's widespread adoption by consumers, nor is there any mention of the physical and mental toll that this takes on child victims of this abuse.
in this post I talk about Tumblr having such a bad CSEM problem in the 2000s to 2010s pre-pornography ban that Apple took the app off the app store. I was groomed by multiple people on this website at that time, specifically adult Homestuck fans because of course they were lol. prior to me using Tumblr I was also a very active ROBLOX child, something that people tend to assume must be anachronistic given old ROBLOX was nowhere near the global player that it was at the time. I thankfully wasn't groomed on there, but I sure knew a whole lot of other kids who were. child safety on ROBLOX is so poor that it has a dedicated Wikipedia page, a Bloomberg feature, and tens to triple digit numbers of lawsuits about how piss poor it is at implementing measures to prevent child grooming across multiple countries. my IRL friends were sexually harassed and coerced by grown men on platforms like kik, like many, many other children.
every website where children gather becomes a platform fondly remembered for fostering children's connections with each other with a big asterisk of "and also lots of us got groomed on there lol." most of us are aware that the adage of "stranger danger" is generally inaccurate given that most children are abused by someone known to them, be it a family member or family friend, but the internet has introduced an entirely new dynamic to the conversation that every pro-pedophile on this website has been eerily silent about.
this is of course because the fact that pedophiles actively and willingly seek out children to abuse on the internet with shocking regularity flies in the face of the "I'm just a humble no-contact minor-attracted person!" image that these people attempt to project. millions of children are abused over the internet every year. pedophiles solicit CSEM from children in exchange for rewards in games. pedophiles send children sexual videos and images (sound familiar?). pedophiles befriend children and then go on to extort them into providing CSEM of themselves by threatening to expose them and their families.
these people are not actually interested in the liberation of children, sexual or non-sexual. as the screenshot above states: the issue is not about allowing children avenues to explore their sexuality. children already do that individually and amongst themselves, and there are many, many people and organisations working towards safe and healthy sex education for children and young people across the globe.
these people are interested in "youth liberation" as a means of gaining sexual access to children for their own gratification. this is not new. I highly recommend looking into pedophile advocacy groups and movements like the pro-pedophile German "new left" (and experiments like purposefully placing children in adoptive homes with pedophiles), French philosophers' petition to get the age of consent abolished in the 70s, and seriously, as linked above, NAMBLA's presence in the International Lesbian and Gay Association and how it led to the association being booted from the United Nations (and how lesbian feminists were key in both criticising NAMBLA and getting them kicked out). please, please, if you are able and willing, if you can deal with the subject matter, take a look at that NAMBLA link there. because again, from the screenshot above
Feminists were also especially skeptical of NAMBLA’s claim that man/boy love was about children’s liberation. Rather, they argued it was about men’s increased sexual access to children.
almost sounds like a parallel of something happening right now... could it be? that'd be crazy...
no it's not lol.
every single talking point they have about sexual liberation related to children is straight up repackaged NAMBLA talking points. the North American Man/Boy Love Association NAMBLA. the "kicked out of every mainstream gay activist space for supporting the sexual exploitation of children" NAMBLA.
do these sound familiar? it's because people on this website use these points in their posts! the article even highlights how NAMBLA bundled youth liberation points that people would generally find reasonable (e.g. critiques of corporal punishment and familial abuse) with beliefs that served solely to allow adult sexual exploitation of children (e.g. "decriminalizing hustling and commercial sexual relationships", which got them into international recognition in the first place, because efforts against sex tourism and cross-country child sexual exploitation were on the rise!)
these people are operating by a tried-and-tested pedophile playbook that has already failed. but they're trying it again anyway.
NOTE: if you read this post and assume it is me thinking that youth liberation does not exist instead of me criticising people who claim to be advocates for youth liberation but just want to have sexual access to children, here is a link that might help.
One thing I don't like about the TME/TMA "discourse" is that almost no one has any quantitative data about the oppression various groups of trans men, trans women, and nonbinary people face. All the arguments are qualitative, and that's not rigorous.
Part of the problem is that there just isn't a lot of quantitative data to begin with. I have looked into this previously, and there's next to nothing on the effects of perceived gender nonconformity, making it problematic that what quantitative data on trans outcomes does exist is simply divided into trans men and women, without taking into account passing. A better analysis would divide up groups between passing and non passing trans men and women vs cis gender conforming and non gender conforming controls, as well as adding race and type of occupation as factors of analysis. But as for what we do have? Trans men earn about the same as cis women, controlling for occupation, while trans women earn less than both groups (Geijtenbeek and Plug 2018; caveat, this looked specifically at Dutch people). Cis men, of course, earn the most. This suggests that while trans women face an additional debuff for being trans women, trans men either generally do not have access to male privilege (possibly due to being seen as women), or that the male privilege and the trans disprivilege are canceling each other out. Another possible factor is that trans men may tend to be funneled into "pink jobs" by education and training prior to coming out; these jobs tend to pay less than other jobs requiring similar amounts of education and training.
I also want to reiterate that it's disingenuous to treat "trans men" and "trans women" as monoliths. How we are treated by society depends on how society sees us. One trans man could be perceived as a woman, another as simply a man, and a third as something like an obviously transitioning "faggot freak." Likewise, one trans woman may be pre-transition and successfully boymoding, another may pass for a cis woman, and a third may be perceived as a "tr*nny freak." Each of these people will be treated very differently by society. Acting like they have access to the same levels of privilege is nonsensical. I should also note here that while the obviously non-passing persons are in the most physical danger of the types listed above, the pre-transition persons likely suffer from the most dysphoria (and, in the case of the pre-transition trans man, are being treated as a woman by society) and may not behaviorally gender-conform, while the "stealth" post-transition trans people must still eternally worry that someone will find out they are trans. There is no state of trans existence that is immune to transphobia or disadvantage.
I think much of the vitriol and disagreement in the "discourse" is due to one actor assuming that all trans men are treated as men simply by identifying as men, while the responders are overreacting to this ridiculousness by acting as if no trans man can access male privilege. Both of these positions are obviously falsifiable.
What we need is more data. Good data. Data that doesn't collapse categories of existence unnecessarily. Data that studies presentation more than identity. Until then, can everybody shut the fuck up and stop arguing internally about who's more oppressed, and start organizing against the entities that want to wipe out all trans people? (Like, you know, the US government?) Please and thank you.

There is no good reason to stay in the HP fandom. There is no way to "ethically" keep the fandom alive.
"Just pirate it!" Nope! Piracy still helps JK Rowling!
"But I'm autistic and it's my fixation!" I'm also autistic and once upon a time it was also my fixation. I have some advice for that here and over here.
"I like the aesthetic!" Go watch the works of Guillermo del Toro, or go read my post on copying HP's aesthetic.
"I just want to play in a wizard-themed setting and I'm not good at worldbuilding!" Neither was JK Rowling! In fact, her worldbuilding is so bad that you can probably do better than her without too much trouble! Also I made some random tables to help develop ideas.
every other post on this site has the caption "my beautiful gay girl wife princess bpd boyfriend husband girlwife girl hes a woman to me" and then a gifset of the most mid white cishet neurotypical actor ever
this post isnt celebrating doing that. by the way. lol.
