tobias menzies will be like yes. i will be playing this historical figure. but i will give him new hair. better hair. and more importantly i will make him queer.
shoutout to the funniest match-up of street names
people who don’t watch horror movies are SO confident that they know everything there is to know about the genre. like it’s okay to not know things. it’s okay if you don’t like friday the 13th or whatever. i promise you don’t need to make an ass out of yourself on the internet about it
horror is an incredibly diverse genre, because there is potential horror in everything. it’s in nature, it’s in architecture and technology, it’s in human relationships, it’s in folklore, the past, the future, the mundane. there are horror movies from all over the world. it is straight up anti-intellectual to pretend that the handful of B slashers you’ve vaguely heard about comprise the totality of what horror has to offer. If you’re just not interested in horror, or if you dislike certain subgenres of horror, then that’s fine, you’re not obligated to like anything at all. but smugly announcing that you don’t like horror because you dislike a handful of VERY specific non-universal tropes is just as stupid as saying that you hate comedy because you don’t like adam sandler movies.
this is what I mean by anti-intellectualism btw
GRRM was so funny for (unintentionally) writing Robert and Stannis having these intense homoerotic situationships with Ned and Davos and then making RENLY the canonically gay brother. It kinda makes it looks like he was the only one brave enough to act on his feelings and actually get with his bestie
starting a collection
I should be able to read books in one second because I need to know everything

as an optimist i dream of a beautiful world where people are fucking normal about aromanticism
At first I read “as an optometrist” and was just ready to accept the statement as is like oh yeah maybe some kind of pun about if people’s views weren’t clouded by hatred and biases they could be normal about aro and aspec in general but then I reread it was like “sigh, time for my nearsighted ass to go back to the optometrist.”
as an optimist i dream of a beautiful world where all these beautiful aromantic people get to go to the optometrist
misread aromanticism as astigmatism
some of you need to get new aspecs
"Good girl" is nice and all, but someone just told me "you serve me well" and I felt neurons fire I didn't even know I had
I mean... yeahhh...
Ah yes, Wuthering Heights, the "greatest love story of all time" where [checks notes] an orphaned boy endures so much abuse, ostracisation and bigotry that his hatred overcomes him and he enacts cruel revenge on multiple generations of his own family, in the aftermath of getting rejected by the girl he trauma-bonded with during childhood and whose premature death so deranges him that he digs up her corpse multiple times, stewing in loathing, misanthropy and alienation that eventually drive him so mad that he starves himself to death.
That love story?
if emerald fennell REALLY wanted a blond cathy falling in love with a white man, she could just have used cathy 2 and hareton, wich would have made her adaptation unique since fucking nobody adapts the second generation. but alas
some elf bullshit happened
The Silmarillion Abridged
This Iron Lung review is taking me out
I was unaware of Markiplier telling his fans that they better behave in the theaters which is hilarious to me because I've been joking with my staff that if the people for Iron Lung acted up in our theater I was going to email Markiplier like a disappointed teacher
