wear your favourite outfit with your tallest shoes. order that ridiculous drink and ask the server to add espresso. run that extra mile and see the river. make your favourite breakfast and add more flavour. clean your room with ghibli music in the background. do your homework with your feet on your desk. live life to its fullest extent, but don't push off your responsibilities. find your balance. dont settle for mediocre. take care.

Korean Novel Recommendations To Read When Learning Korean [Part Three]
More book recommendations because I read too many!
Summer Outside [바깥은 여름] by Kim Ae-ran
A collection of tales by this award winning author. Was such a sad read, but very emotionally evoking and resonant.
Yellow House [노란집] by Park Wan Seo
Stories of a yellow house and old age. I adored this read. Profound reality and beautiful telling. I recommend this the most!
Deep Sorrow [깊은 슬픔] by Shin Kyung-Sook
Bit of a heavier read, however, I wanted to test myself when translating. I prefer darker themed stories anyhow, I think that is a given. A young woman is led to suicide, after constantly failing to sustain relationships. A bitter reality story.
A Familiar World [낯익은 세상] by Hwang Sok-yong
A place that highlights the lives of people living on Flower Island. Involving one main character and his growth on this wasteland.
Home Sweet Home [즐거운 나의 집] by Gong Ji-young
A tale of a family who can be seen as less than normal. I love quirky books like this!

studying vocabulary with everglow, my favorite thing to do 😍

stream it: la di da - everglow (mv).
I found these online (so not my original infographics - credit goes to those who made them) explaining Korean sentence structure. I’m going to practice writing/speaking sentences this way in English first in order to get my head around it, before introducing vocab! C’est plus compliqué que les phrases françaises, n’est pas?😂 Mon pauvre cerveau!
So I've been meaning to start a german diary for a while now and I did it today after seeing this post (which is, funnily enough, a screenshot of a Tumblr post, which I couldn't find).
Hey everyone! These are the skills I used to learn German in about two weeks! It takes a lot of work obviously but it’s so worth it. 💕⚡️
1. Use a language program like Memrise or Duolingo. I think that programs like these are super helpful for getting acquainted with the language you want to learn and for understanding basic grammar. I mostly use them as a break from the other work that I do but they are definitely good practice.
2. Make a list of the top 1,000 most common words and work on memorizing them in chunks. I worked on memorizing about 50-100 words a day. It sounds like a lot but many of the words are different verb tenses of the same word so it ends up being less work that you expect. Also, from using Memrise and Duolingo, a lot of the words were already familiar to me. I wrote a list of the words for the day each morning and during my breaks from school work I would quiz myself on them.
3. Watch lots of Youtube videos to study grammar and tenses. The internet is your friend when it comes to learning a new language so take advantage of the resources! I would google everything that confused me and watch videos on it until I felt like I really had a grasp. Doing this ensures that you have a strong foundation to learn new vocabulary.
4. Translate music from your main language into your target language and vice versa. This is a fun way that I would practice verb conjugations and my vocabulary recollection. Any word that I hadn’t learned already, I would look up and be able to add it to my vocab list. Also, this is really fun practice and the rhythm made it easier to remember what I was learning.
5. Keep a post-it note to write down any questions you have or things that you don’t understand. This way, you can remember to look up what was confusing you instead of forgetting what you don’t know. By keeping track of what I understood well and what I needed to continue practicing, I was more organized in my practice and spent my time better.
This obviously isn’t an easy way to learn a language but you defintiely get results based on the effort you put in. Message me if you have any other suggestions for langblrs, I’m always interested in learning more!
here are a few study tips on how to learn a new language 💻☺️:
1. start speaking as soon as possible. even when you haven’t learned too many words yet, the most important part of studying a language is not being afraid of using it. so download apps like hellotalk to get in touch with natives! of course, it’s even easier if you already have friends or family members speaking your target language.
2. study the most frequent words! there are tons of free so-called “frequency lists” online that prevent you from studying vocabulary you don’t need in the long run. with only 500 of the right words you could already have basic conversations!
3. get a lot of native exposure - through podcasts, videos and movies. there are so many recommendations on the internet, no matter what language you’re learning. the earlier you start immersing yourself in native material, even if it’s children’s books, the faster you’ll find yourself having fluent conversations!!
4. keep a weekly or daily diary to practice writing in your target language. even if it’s only composed of basic sentences, it’s the best way to use the vocabulary you’ve learned!
qotd: what language would you like to study next? i really look forward to studying Italian once I have a little bit more time!! 💕
