Hello followers. I got nuked if you didn’t notice. Staff did that thing again where they ban a bunch of transfems at once for the crime of following a specific account. But then they did that thing again where they bring back all or at least most of those accounts and pretend it never happened. So I’m still here actually. Except actually in the interim I made a new account, @liirker-at-thresholds, and I’m gonna stay there until that one gets nuked and then I’m gonna move to lurker-at-threesholds and so on, in accordance with that post i made one time that I’m sure you all remember. So go follow that new account, and unfollow this one because I’m gonna queue this post to go up again a couple times a day for like a month until everyone gets the memo. This account will still be here though as an archive of my old posts, and especially of my tag system, and likely as a spot to make announcements if future accounts get nuked, so come check back here if liirker suddenly vanishes. I want to commission this author on ao3 to continue their fic, without coming off as rude or entitled or anything of sort.

I follow this really amazing author's really amazing story, she last updated it in the beginning of 2021. I've reread those chapters so many times that I've memorised it, it just simply IS that good.

And i don't even have a specific request regarding the plot or anything i just would love her to continue it.

She put up another fic in the beginning of this year so at least i know that she's not inactive.

So should i offer commissioning or just continue to wait?

so this is actually against ao3’s terms of service and your comment can be reported.

I’ve already said this before, but fanfiction is already in a legally grey area. the only reason ao3 can exist as it is today without being sued for copyright infringement left and right by studios like disney and others is because the main rule on ao3 is “nothing on its site can be monetized in any way, shape or form. fanfiction, of other people’s copyrighted material, cannot be monetized in any way, shape or form.”

so you risk putting both yourself and the author in trouble by mentioning commission.

if you want your favorite fic to get updated, you comment positive things on the author’s work. but you don’t mention commission or anything that involves money. because not only is it strictly forbidden on ao3, most writers already rightfully associate anything that involves a commission with bot and scam comments that have been plaguing ao3 lately, so most writers also block and report any comments that mention a commission.
