The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.
This is the result of the first successful game of Europa Universalis IV I’ve ever played. If you couldn't tell, I was in command of the Aztec Empire. I had planned to resist the Western colonizers, though that didn’t quite work as well as I’d hoped.Â
I kept my religion, though, and as you can see from the stats screen, I did pretty good. I spent the latter half of the game allied to France, who were basically AI repellent, and even managed some wacky stunts like invading and conquering Ireland and the Japanese islands.Â
While Aztec controlled Japan was probably the weirdest thing in the game, it wasn’t the only ahistorical fun present. The Ming dynasty never fell and conquered the Manchurians. France drove Great Britain off the British Isles. The United States of America were a Dutch colony. Ethiopia held the entire southern Arabian peninsula before the Ottoman Empire slimed all over them.
My only regret is that I couldn’t curb stomp the Spanish back into the 13th century.
