what is the definite difference between bisexuality and pansexuality?

Bisexuality is often defined as attraction to both masculine and feminine genders, whereas pansexuality is often defined as attraction regardless of gender. Some people define bisexuality as attraction to same and other genders, as heterosexuality is attraction to other and homosexuality is attraction to same, and bisexuality is attraction to both.

Some pansexuals and (transphobic) bisexuals say that bisexuality only includes attraction to cisgender people, though most bisexuals I know do not go by this definition.

This is where the difference between pansexuality and bisexuality is lost. If bisexuality includes attraction to both cis and trans people, then it is no different from pansexuality. From there, it really comes down to a bi or pan person’s personal definition of their sexuality.

In short, there is no definite difference.

I personally call myself bisexual and not pansexual because I’m attracted to the very feminine and very masculine, though very rarely anything in between. Some would say I should identify as pansexual because I include trans people in this, but the absence of attraction to people in between feminine and masculine tells me that I’m not pansexual.

Cisphobia is very real. About a year ago, someone called me cis on the internet. They didn't call me any names, they just called me cis. It hurt my feelings so bad, I had to leave tumblr for 5 minutes. Stop cis hate. Trans people are oppressed daily, verbally and physically abused, but think about cis people's feelings.

There are a few asks in my inbox asking why I've followed them back and whether they're in trouble, etc. I follow everyone back on the assumption that everyone has something cool and insightful to offer. Like foodporn and funny gifs of bunnies. Cookies and adorable animals are eminently insightful. If you wish for me to unfollow you, just drop me a line. No explanations necessary. In fact, the less explanations the better. My time on tumblr is limited and I like to keep it that way. If you wish to unfollow me, I believe there's a button somewhere for that provided by tumblr. Again, no need to contact me. Really. No need. lol Just because we follow each other doesn't mean you're never going to fuck up or I'm never going to. Don't try to make me un tag you or delete a post, because it puts me in an uncomfortable position. However, just because you fuck up once doesn't mean you're going on the block list. I don't keep a strict list and I don't like the idea that people can't make mistakes, EVER. That's ridiculous as shit. If I fuck up, you're welcome to make a sculpture out if it as a permanent monument to my very flawed nature. After you call me out, of course. If you send me an ask and I don't reply promptly, don't harass me. Maybe I'm talking to a friend, reading a book, petting my cat, eating some delicious food, watching one of Mads Mikkelsen's movies (Danish cinema is really good, who knew?) or reading some femslash. Those are very important things, which take priority. Don't worry, I'll get to your ask eventually. Maybe.

That said cis and terf are slurs because they are used at women, not about women. Furthermore they’re always used with contempt and as a means to degrade. They are slurs and weaponized against women. Not okay.

If you’re using it towards a concept that you consider bad then it’s ableist because you’re using a group of people with mental illness to describe something that you don’t like. That’s not good you should stop that.

Cis is not a slur because it’s the opposite of trans, unless you think that trans is a slur that doesn’t hold up. And even if it was used to demean people, it’s used far more often against men, because men tend to fuck up more.

Egalitarians seem to think everyone needs to be treated equally regardless of power structures, imbalances, and oppression. 

Feminists believe we need to protect those that are being oppressed and liberate them from those oppressive forces. 

Basically, one sounds all nicey-nicey and nobody has to take any accountability for the problems of society meaning nothing ever changes, and the other actually gets things done. xxx

Hyenas: Always getting a bad rap because lions are jerks. Lions actually steal from hyenas most of the time because hyenas are the better predators — but they’re also very skittish when faced with a giant pride of cats. Adorable babies!

Okay, lemme tell you about spotted hyenas, aka the BAMFiest BAMFs in the animal kingdom.

Their societies are entirely female-dominated. Female hyenas are larger and stronger than males and have higher social status in clan hierarchy - even the lowest-ranking female in a hyena clan is higher up the social ladder than the highest-ranking male. They’re basically the Amazons of the animal world. The females even have false penis-like appendages (which are essentially large clitorises), which led the ancient Greeks to think that hyenas were hermaphrodites. Because fuck your narrow human perceptions of sex and gender roles, that’s why.

They are considered the dominant predators of the African savannah, despite not being the largest or strongest, because they are the most successful hunters. Their hunting success rate is estimated to be about 70-80%, meaning that they catch about 70-80% of prey they pursue - a freakishly high statistic (to compare, the success rate of lions and wolves is about 20-30%). They also scavenge much less than lions do, as whowasntthere said, and are incredibly adaptable and opportunistic predators, meaning that they are also the most common and widespread of the large African carnivores. That’s not too bad for an animal typecast as a lazy scavenger.

Their jaws are some of the strongest in the animal kingdom, stronger than those of lions, tigers, wolves or perhaps bears, and can crush elephant and giraffe bones; hyenas are also able to digest all bone matter. Don’t tell me that’s not metal as fuck.

Despite looking like dogs, they are not part of the dog family and are actually more closely related to cats. Because fuck your logic. Nature does what it wants.

They are incredibly intelligent. They are easily as intelligent as primates and some scientists claim that their intelligence may even rival that of the great apes, which would make them among the most intelligent animals in the world. Hyenas even outperform chimpanzees on some tests, which is pretty damn awesome, considering that chimpanzees are our closest relatives and all.

So yeah, basically hyenas are awesome and badass as well as truly fascinating animals and if you don’t have at least a bit of respect for them you’re wrong.
