People don’t have to justify their abortions to anyone.
Genuinely nice men don't see the need to shout out how nice they are every .02 seconds.
Honestly, abortions of convenience are bad on principle, but the abortion of a child based on mental illness (like down syndrome) is supremely fucked up and utterly despicable. Like that’s just eugenics-tier evil at that point. Mentally ill people have the same right to life as everyone else.
From the perspective of a mentally-ill individual, I resonate with this sentiment to some extent.
However, it is important to note that abortions of "convenience" aren't usually prevalent. People don't receive abortions for fun, and even if it were for convenience, the validity of their justification shouldn't matter as a) they're exercising their bodily autonomy because abortion is a fundamental reproductive right, and b) nobody is entitled to an explanation.
I've said this before and I will say it again: we can dismantle the indoctrinated ableism inherent in healthcare structures without denying individuals their right to abortion services.
