One of the best letters I’ve ever seen just popped up on my Facebook memories. Still makes me laugh.
As today is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, it’s a great time to revisit Dinah from Devon’s memory of this historic event. And yes, still makes me laugh.
Today is the 54th anniversary of the moon landing, but Dinah’s diary entry is still absolutely magnificent.
57th anniversary of the moon landing and the best diary entry in the history of diary entries. Sit down Samuel Pepys, it’s over. UGH.
On one hand, I really wanna build a Korean inspired area for my sims. On the other hand, it was a time when they were under Japanese and not treated that great... and unsure if ignoring that aspect like I ignore the racist American stuff would be ok... On the third hand it's just a video game...
pixelnrd Shirley dress 4t2
Another babydoll dress/bloomers combo originally for TS4 by @pixelnrd. She did 42 recolors with @nekyo's Soft Heart palette, but there are really just nine base colors with trim variations. Everyday and formal with t-straps and knee socks. Pictured above are the colors I called Dusty Blue, Light Blue with red, and Honey.
If you don't want all 42, you can download just the solids or a selection of my nine favorite contrast variants, pictured below.

I'm gonna have to download and mdo up Sims 4 aren't I? Loving all of these goodies
Big Band Swing (not exactly 3t2)
The original TS3 gown had an awesome and dramatic painted-on necklace that made it a nightmare to convert. After fighting with that for way too long I did an old-fashioned TS2 frankenmesh and stuck on modified TS3 textures. The shape is pretty much the same, but I like the straps better and it eliminated the necklace issue. (It's really Lara overalls (H&M) + basegame Mom dress + Uberfam t-straps.) Just four colors for now, the usual morphs (fat for TF/EF, +preg for AF), slim 2118 polycount. Formal only, but the mesh has lots of versatility.
The stocking alpha is a TS4 conversion but I have no idea where I picked it up! Let me know if you recognize the black one.

Though I can't seem to leave a comment because my LiveJournal account got purged, this marks the final conversion of the TS3 "Ragtime in the Big Easy" set and it's now complete!
PixelNrd's "Peggy" Babydoll Dress with Bloomers 4t2 for CF/PF
"Peggy" was one of two babydoll dresses @pixelnrd released for TS4 four years ago, with a Peter Pan collar and neck bow. CF shoes are nicked from a Store outfit. Socks are a mix of full/knee and black/white. But this is definitely a dress for little girls, not preteens, so toddlers get them, too. Toddlers have the basegame toddler Mary Janes in black with full length white stockings. 18 solid recolors and 17 plaids for 35 total recolors! Categorized as Everyday and Formal.

Dixieland Dress 3t2
It's a drop-waist formal gown with tabard-style bodice and beaded straps. I couldn't decide whether to ditch the gloves, so I just did two separate meshes with the lower arms on a different group so I could use the same texture files to a different effect. Shoes are Uberfam T-straps.
These are Miss Scarlet, Black/White, White, MissPeach, Golds, Blues, Green Black, Greens, Wine, Black/Purple. (Yes, I edited in two Bodyshop screencaps there.) Because of how I made them, the repository version has ALL ten dress textures (plus shoes) in a single repository package for maximum flexibility. You can mix-and-match from there and no matter which variations you want, you can safely delete the ones you don't.

Ugh I really need to reinstall Sims 2 don't I?
Anita Berber - actress, dancer, writer, and infamous Weimar Berlin icon appears in a cameo in Fritz Lang's Dr. Mabuse the Gambler - Part I
She also doubled for Aud Egede-Nissen's Cara Carozza for the dance sequence at the Folies Bergeres cabaret.
Dr. Mabuse the Gambler is known as a film for being a document of its' time capturing the decadence and chaos of the early years of the Weimar Republic in the wake of post-WWI Germany, acting as a mirror. Part I of the film showcases a populace who frequent nightclubs and seedy gambling dens to find escapism from post-war disillusionment.
WaxesNostalgic's Plusfours 4t2 for TM-EM
I converted the plusfours from @waxesnostalgic's TS4 Early 20th Century Sportswear set and shared it as part of the Garden of Shadows "Ladies' Night Is Cancelled" March/April event!
Linzlu's 1920s Middy Blouses & Athletic Bloomers
Strap in, gang-- there's a lot.
What's Included:
Bloomers in 10 colors:
~~~Short bloomers for CF, TF, and AF
~~~Knee-length bloomers for TF, AF and EF
Middy blouses in 10 color and 21 white variations
~~~At the hip for CF, TF, AF, and EF
~~~Longer middy blouses for TF, AF, and EF
If you're doing the math, that's 277(!!!) recolors on 13 different meshes! Shoes are H&M high tops, which are actually quite period accurate basketball shoes. I varied the textures so that the each color has a full-length and a shorter sock in TF and AF. (Girls have a variety of socks in the shorter length bloomer only. Elders only have long bloomers with mostly full-length stockings. The banner image is lying but I crashed GIMP so I'm leaving it.)
Everything is enabled for Everyday and Athletic, so once they're purchased in Everyday they will be available when you change from a dresser in Athletic. Everything hits at the natural TS2 waistline. AF top has a pregmorph.
These are the solid colors (bloomers are the same):
Because there are so freakin' many recolors and I am a completionist sicko, I am offering these as individual, standalone recolors or a much-smaller bundle with 31 shared textures in a repository separate from the actual recolor package, so you can curate and delete at will without worrying about deleting the master.
DOWNLOAD SINGLE REPOSITORY + RECOLOR PACKAGES (6MB)
DOWNLOAD STANDALONE/TEXTURES IN INDIVIDUAL FILES (52MB)
Why A Texture Repository? Look at those sizes. By combining some tops and bottom textures and having all ages share textures from one giant repository I can wheedle that down from 277 TS4 textures to just 31, plus 10 shoe/sock variants to increase the visual diversity. (I call the giant texture package a "Skell-style repository," because @whattheskell did this sometimes and she should be the patron saint of eliminating unneeded textures.)
Now you do end up with almost 300 tiny textureless package files in this particular case, and the game isn't always thrilled about that, either. BUT these can be easily combined in SimPE or CCMerger once you decide what you're keeping and what to jettison for different ages. I'll be honest: despite that "completionist sicko" thing, I do not personally need 21 mostly white middy blouses for every age.
Known Issues: I tried really hard to ensure these could be used with most other tops and bottoms. The top can accommodate the OFB jodhpurs, and the bottoms don't clip with Sentate's Amy jumper. That said, the elder is a little worse than the other two in this respect. Those EF meshes can be paunchy and odd. (But I'm following this up with a fullbody version that sacrifices versatility with default replacement suitability.)
Credits: Linzlu, for meshes and textures. Red shoes are Nabila's. Long stockings are Io's. Lifa and Mayfairsims, for WSO actions used for morphs and age conversions. @picknmixsims, for the Repository Wizard. (I learned so much messing around with the Repository Wizard this time. So long as the textures are in the same folder somewhere, you can do a lot.)
